I would say only Cucurella Caicedo James Palmer and Colwill are guaranteed starters at the moment.

(Lavia if fit ) but then it just looks like either/or for the rest of the places which isn’t great with the number of players and the cost

Pedro too. It's crazy the amount of investment on wingers, yet none are guaranteed. Maybe Neto for work rate.

So here’s the thing, injuries aside our starting XI and bench options are actually easily up there.

If we played to the squads strengths and had overlapping fullbacks as opposed to inverted we’d be a proper force.

Wether that would nullify Cucu is the only possible casualty of the change however still outside of a GK we wouldn’t even have to ‘recruit’ heavily it could be an in season swap.

Sanchez

James (Gusto as his rotation)

Colwill (Trev as his rotation)

Fofana (Tosin & Josh ready for his inevitable breakdown to injury)

Cucu (Hato + probably some recruitment needed here)

Caicedo & Santos (Enzo in for European competition, Essugo to get minutes in the lesser games, Lavia is a gift when available but should by no means ever be counted in the rotation)

Palmer (Neto as his sub/rotation)

JP (Palmer can step in if positional rotation needed)

Estevao (Garnacho as his rotation)

Delap (Guiu again as his rotation)

There’s a serviceable player in every position as a ‘rotation’ in that scenario and it should be a lot more attack minded.

Our biggest obstacle remains Maresca to bringing some entertainment back to the bridge.

A manager that can adapt and play to players strengths would comfortably have this squad in the top 4.
