...Others had paid ?100 for what they knew were forgeries but they hoped might get them through. ?What have you got?? one fan asked another as they jostled in the first queue. ?A piece of paper that?s as good as a piece of s***e,? he replied before turning to his teenage son: ?Don?t worry, lad, we?ll get in. It?s the European Cup final, we always get in.? And how were they intending to do so? ?We?re going to steam the c****,? he explained.

Many of them did clearly succeed in getting in illegally because the Liverpool end last night was packed to the point where many feared it was becoming dangerous. The police were aware of a vast excess of bodies in the lower tier. When the game was still 30 minutes from starting, some fans at Gate 35 were screaming at stewards to stop letting any more people in...

He sounds like a typical apologist for the Scousers:

With so many fans having paid so much to be thus disappointed, the two incidents at the gates last night can hardly have come as a surprise.

And they were not what we now term ?major? incidents of hooliganism. Overall, the atmosphere around this Champions League final has been particularly convivial.

Redrob, as our resident scouse defender what do you make of this. They (your supporters) did the same in the semi at the bridge, and all that talk of 'the police' caused Hillsborough is laughable now! When are your supporters going to learn their action's endanger lives!!!

People like yourself and the media will allow this to continue because the plight of the scousers is always argued in an innocent and sympathetic light, well it's gone too far, how many died at Hillsborough? Justice for the 96, what a load of complete bollox that is, your still doing it and will continue to do it until your either suspended or more people die.

Yesterday you thought I was having a dig, in reality, I think we all knew what was going to happen.

Scumbags the lot of 'em!!!

Another ugly piece of history repeating!

I've just walked into work listening to the attempts to blame the Greek police/UEFA/Al Qaida for last night.

I'll have a lot of respect for the first Liverpool fan who actually says "hold on, it was our fault". Good God, with their history, you'd think they'd be the last ones trying to overcrowd a stadium.

All week we've had romanticised stories of how 40,000 Liverpool fans would be going to the game by hook or by crook even though there were only 17,000 tickets. Now that we've seen the harsh reality of what happens when the ticketless fans try this on, suddenly it's everybody else's fault!

As well as their supporters endangering lives what about the fans with real tickets that couldn't get in because of the w**kers that charged their way through.

I saw a Liverpool flag on the news out there saying "Scouse Camaraderie", surrouded by 5 stars, etc. What a load of bollox. They don't give a f**k about their own fans. And the media are defending them!!!

Going by the dates it seems pre-organised! Scumbags!

Hillsborough/Hysel when are they going to cause the next one?

How do you get 200 scousers in a mini?

20 real tickets, 80 forgeries & the rest will push their way in. icon_wink.gif

Pikey scumbags!

Suppose you could always use the 2005 final ticket, forge one, or get a few thousand ticketless supporters together and simply try and steamroller your way through the turnstiles. It wouldn't be the first time, certainly won't be the last

Are you a clairvoyant?

just heard on 5live that liverpool fans were robbing tickets off other liverpool fans at the turnstyles!

amusingly some guys were also arrested for pretending to be greek builders going in to do some work on the stadium!! (fair play on that one!!)

No, but I saw them at our place in the semi and couldn't believe the stories I heard afterwards. You really have to see that ticketless rabble to believe the stories!

Looks like some will never learn!!

I posted somewhere else that I can't beileve the authorities allowed that many ticketless fans to travel, it doesn't take a genius to work out what 'could have happended'. Unfortunately it did.

I take no pleasure in being right in this instance, it really is a sad day for football when a club who are respobsible for the DEATH, yes, DEATH of so many of their own supporters continue to behave in a way exclusive to only them and endanger the lives of their fellow supporters with such blatant arrogance and disregard for the law, authorities and fellow supporters.

Wasn't it Shankley who said 'football's not life or death,...... it's more important! - What a c*nt!

Lives should not be lost over football! Marriages maybe... but lets get it right!

just check out some of the posts on this link

Riot police in Athens used tear gas and batons outside the Olympic Stadium as fans were turned away because they were told the stadium was already full.

Uefa spokesman William Gaillard said: "The behaviour of the Liverpool fans is in the end responsible for the problems that took place before the game.

"The Milan supporters didn't face the same problems because they didn't behave in the same way.

"The kind of pushing that was going on and the attempts to jump over barriers - imagine if we had turnstiles, we could have had a tragedy.

"More than three hours before the game there were incidents at the Liverpool end with people trying to get in either with fake tickets or jumping over the barriers.

A spokeswoman said: "We were very pleased regarding the behaviour of the sports fans."

She added there had been 230 arrests after people were found in possession of forged tickets.

The arrests included 216 Britons, nine Italians, two Serbians, one Bulgarian, one German and one Norwegian man.

She said they had since all been released and that there would be no further action taken.

If those two reports tally then I'm Bolo Zenden

Can we get RedRob's thoughts on this. He was reasonably unpleasant to me when I dared to suggest that Hillsbrough was the fault of the tickless scum.

How many times do we have to see it happen before you as a collective are big enough to stand up, take the blame and change your ways???

the ridiculous pool defence that it was uefa's fault cos of lack of tickets..well I can't remember seeing chelsea or united fans charging the gates last saturday...we were also victims, thousands wanted to go but couldn't get a ticket..we were angry for sure, but we accepted it and watched it elsewhere...it's not that difficult!

You're not the only one Barn!!

I'd imagine it'll be along the lines of not all Liverpool fans are like that, you can't tar everyone with the same brush, it's a minority.....etc...etc...

You're right, ''until they are big enough to stand up, take the blame and change their ways'' it will continue to happen, something that was also scoffed at by Redrob in another thread.

Blame the police, the authorities, the opposition fans, the ticket allocation, but there is 1 common denominator in all of the past tragedies, Liverpool supporters, and the more excuses the media and fans themselves make allows the issue to go unchallenged until someone dies again!

As well as their supporters endangering lives what about the fans with real tickets that couldn't get in because of the w**kers that charged their way through.

Exactly mate!!

As always load of talk,no action!!
