I just finished up another thrilling season of Football Manager, and I looked forward to seeing what the game thought the best and worst signings of the season were. Somehow in my transfer frenzy I got best AND worst. I'm interested in seeing what the CSR thinks about the best and worst from the premiership this season.

My Best: Berbatov

My Worst: Come back to me

Was that Djembe Cumbactume signed from Sparta Prague? I thought he was OK. His YouTube comps all made him look top notch and exciting! But then so did Kalou's

Kev

Benny McCarthy was a great signing for Blackburn but I agree Berbatov was pick of the bunch.

Worst signing, you have to weigh up the price, then it has to be Shevchenko for ?30m!

Best Chelsea signing, Mikel - the worst, as above.

Berbatov cost nearly ?12m, he's a very good player and at a decent price but not a bargain. Benni (I don't want him at Chelsea), signing of the summer last year.

Berbatov was a great signing, no doubt.

worst.....Fowler?

fowler wasnt signed last season, he was free and he had a decent return of goals to games played, so no.

Berbatov is a classy player, but christ, people ar going well over the top creaming themselves about him for some reason. He is a nice player to watch but didnt exactly score a hatful of goals.

Berbatov was a great signing, no doubt.

15 goals, wasn't it? icon_wink.gif

p.s. how many goals without penalties?

12 goals in 32 since re-signing, which isnt bad as plenty of those appearances were as sub. As i say, not his former glories, but not bad really, certainly not the worst signing in the prem.

Berbatov was a great signing, no doubt.

did you see the question mark? <<<<< look there's another one.

with regards to Fowler, seeing as he had "a decent return of goals to games played" Rafa will be bending over backwards to keep him then?<<<<

worst signing... macherano, I'll go with, for west ham. not his fault though.

best signing... also mascherano, for liverpool. though mccarthy was good, I was tempted to put mikel in- I don't think you'll find a better long term signing made all year.

Berbatov was a great signing, no doubt.

no need to get upset, i was just putting you straight. the fact you included a question mark, i am guessing you were asking a question, were you? If you were, i answered it i reckon. Not worth keeping him, but he wasnt the worst signing we have made in the last 2 years, never mind the worst in the prem.

best : tevez (singlehandedly saved Wet Spam)

worst : shamed to admit it has to be Ballack/Sheva (for the wages they draw)

Purely in terms of value for money:

Best - 2 million for McCarthy.

Worst - unfortunately, you can't go past Sheva.

The more you look back on it, he really did have a dire season. Flashes of brilliance every 5th or 6th match, but only ever flashes. And then went missing at the business end of the season - not good for a "big-game" player.

He will obviously be better next season, but will he ever get back to the form of his glory days in Milan? Personally, I don't think so.

Yup. Tevez. Didn't cost anything but kept WH in the premiership, so made them about 30 million quid, give or take.

Worst. Gallas to the Arse.

For us, best: Mikel by a loooooooooooooooong way. VERY expensive for someone his age. But boy is he going to be a giant of the game by the time he's 25.

Worst, boula.

Almost worst: while MB and Shev had mediocre seasons (by their very high standards) I'd have to with A. Cole. Nowhere near the defender he was at the Arse and why JM doesn't make Bridge the first choice left back is a mystery to me.
