Makelele Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 DO IT..DO IT NOW..would be a great bargin...29 year old englishman for a 27 year old 2 time fifa world player of the year
TomP Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Chelsea legend / driving force of our midfield for the last 5 years at least / guaranteed 20 goals from midfield vs. A very skillful player, but not in the same form as he was 2 years ago. Unproven in the premiership. Unproven in the system that we play. Easy choice. I would love to see us sign a Ronaldinho-style player at some stage, but not at the expense of Lamps.
Jimboola69 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Can't pick any of those choices. I do not say we should never sell Lamps, but i do not want Jah-Jah, as i think he would not fit Jose, not suit Chelsea, not suit English Football and who looked to me to be phoning his performances in last season. NO MORE GALLACTICOS!
Guest Brian M Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 JM: "That's it, my garage is full. I do not need any more fancy cars." PK: "Excellent. So you're happy now? You've got enough 4 wheel drives, sports cars, Volvo family wagons and Gogo mobiles?" JM: "Yes. As I said, my garage is full." PK: "Okay. If you're sure..." JM: "Why do you keep asking me though? What are you up to? Is there another car you think I can fit in my garage? Is that what this visit is about" RA: "Yes..." JM: "Roman! Sh*t, I didn't hear you come in. You have the blood of a Ninja!" RA: "As a boy in Russia, I did quite a bit of breaking and entering. You learn to be very light on your feet." PK: "So, Roman...about 'The Car...?" RA: "Ah, yes, the car...always to business Kenyon. I like that in a myrmidon." PK: "I live to serve." RA: "Of course you do." JM: "So, what is this car you both speak of? I really don't have any room in my garage for another car. In fact I've got to get rid of one of my Volvo station wagons as it is as I've run out of room. But, I've had three of them on ebay for a week and not a single nibble!" RA: "Well, firstly let me say that I suspect you will want to sell another couple of cars to make room for this car. It is a very special car." JM: "Okay, I am intrigued now. Do you have a picture of this car?" RA: "Of course..." JM: "Holy sh*t!" RA: "Quite..." JM: "But..." RA: "But?" JM: "Well, it's just that it's one of those red sports cars. And that wouldn't go with all my blue cars. I mean, who knows if it'll even look good in blue?" RA: "I do..." PK & JM "F*CKING HELL THAT'S NICE!!!" RA: "Ohhhhhhhhh, you have no idea." JM: "It looks like it was made to be painted blue!" RA: "I thought so, yes..." JM: "So, so...you're really looking to buy this car for me?" RA: "Yes. Yes I am. Think of it as my making up for being in such a bad mood all last year. You know, what with the divorce and everything..." JM: "But a car like that must cost a fortune?" RA: "About 40 million pounds and some change." JM: "But what happened to the 'tightening the purse strings? I, um...I thought that..." RA: "Give me a break, Jose. I only said that rubbish about the purse springs to get the press of my back. I'm the richest man in the world under 40 for goodness sake. Trust me, I can afford the car." PK: "He can you know!" JM: "I...I...I...um...I don't know what to say!" RA: "Just say yes, and leave the rest to me and the bald man in the corner." ... ... ... JM: "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!" RA: "Excellent..." JM: "But, well...what cars should I sell to make room in the garage? A car like that'll want a lot of private parking space." RA: "True. But what cars you sell is up to you. It's your garage. But, if it were me, I'd probably get rid of that clapped out German Merc over there, and the rusting yellow Ukrainian Lada that's up on blocks over in the corner..." JM: "Well...if you say so!" RA: "I most certainly do..."
Gem Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I'd keep the yellow car, especially with the ANC coming up. Oh my lord ow are we going to cope without Drogba... anyway.....
loz Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 JM: "I must say the car looks good but I do have concerns" RA: "Speak of them then. I am a man who likes the way c ar looks on TV and buys it, I don't give so muich thought to the problems." PK: "Don't listen to him boss, we discussed this remember, I told you he would make problems!" RA: "Silence infidel!' JM: "A car like that is no good at tackling speed bumps, this means to accommodate it I need to make considerable journey changes, changes to a journey that I have got quite used to making successfully." RA: "Hmmmmm... I shall give this thought." JM: "There is more." RA: "More? JM: "Yes more. That is a car not so accustomed to driving on the left side of the road like these UK people do. By the time it makes the adjustment, my Volvo estate would have done many more miles and carried all my shopping in its boot" RA: "I see." JM: "Also, I hear this car is not tested in the cold of a British winter. My Volvo beasts through the winter months and comes back for more'" RA: "So what you are saying is?" JM: "Leave my team alone"

clubhappy Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 With Frank's goalscoring record and his ability to get us important goals i wouldnt like to lose him just yet . If we do buy Ronnie , and end up with nothing this season , were going to look right stupid c***s arent we.
The Moos Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 The question we need to ask ourselves is: Do we have a player who can step into Lampards shoes? Can Ballack, Essien, Mikel or another player step up and do what Lampard has been doing for a few seasons now? If the answer is "Yes", then I don't mind letting Lampard go. But of course having him still here and bringing Ronnie isn't too bad either

loz Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 No idea why I am even commenting on this as it is total nonsense made up by journalists without a real story to tell this weekend. If we were to be looking to spend stupid money on a player from Barcelona then the money would be far better used tempting them to part with Messi rather than Ronaldinho. If we sign Ronnie before the window closes I will rename this forum the Emlyn Hughes Appreciation Forum - that is how confident I am that this is total rubbish.

mad_mac Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Emelyn Hughes appreciation forum??? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD< DO NOT SIGN RONNIE NOW!!!! However, I am in eh camp of Messi over Ronnie, I could just see him fitting in our systme more.
g3.7 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 we do have a space for ronaldinho in the side given we are using a second striker now- in hindsight going for tevez would have worked. however, we now have pizarro on the books, and he's looking good. ronaldinho would be a dream, but it won't happen. with a 442, you might argue rooney would be (given his age) an even better "dream" signing. lampard is one of, if not the most influential player we have. it's vital he stays. p.s. ronaldinho next to lampard in central midfield!
The Moos Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 p.s. ronaldinho next to lampard in central midfield! NO! We need someone like Maka, Mikel or Essien in central midfield. Lampard isn't bad in defence but we need someone stronger. I'm against playing with two attacking central midfielders unless we play with 5 midfielders and can use a defensive one in the middle. Wouldn't be too bad playing with: Malouda - Ronnie - Essien - Lampard - SWP
Alan Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I would like to see Ronaldihno at the Bridge but not at the expense of Lampard.
