The Brit
great timing this...ruud has given a great interview with the sunday times about his own sacking from chelsea and names rix, hutchison and Gwyn williams as his betrayers...but read on as it has some great stuff on ruud in general http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 511616.ece
Jimboola69
Great article. Just goes to show what jounos CAN do. The sacking of Ruud possibly affected me more than Jose. We were so starved of success and glamour and suddenly no-one could mention Chelsea without saying 'sexy football'.
BlueBeard
I'm still bloody angry at the sacking of Ruud Gullit. I reckon his team would've gone on to win the league and maybe more if he'd been allowed to stay.

Backbiter
Yeah - great feature. I remember being totally stunned by the sacking back then, and his press conference the next day was spell-binding. I remember hiding in a cupboard in work with headphones on listening to the radio. Ruud was emotional and bewildered and angry, whereas Bates slated him as a 'part-time playboy manager' who wasn't committed to the club. The fact that he still talks about how happy he was at Chelsea and how hard the sacking hit shows that was a grotesque distortion. Mourinho's interview in the NotW today shows Jose in a similar light: someone who absolutely loved being at Chelsea but who the board/ owner decided was not right for the club. The supporters have been shafted by incompetent decision-makers at the top. [web]http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/2309_jose.shtml[/web]
