I'm at work and banned from youtube but if anyone would like to post Zola's goal against Wimbledon at Highbury in 97, then Joe Cole's goal - you'll see they're almost identical. 'Twisted blood!' F*cking superb! Zola's was one of the greatest goals I've ever seen live, he tricked the entire north-bank, everyone though he was going the otherway, even his team-mates. loz Posted March 21, 2008 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Joe's goal was superb but, for me, not in the same league as Franco against Wimbledon. What Franco did was a rare moment of genius, the kind of thing you may only ever see once, and for the rest of your life you can still see it in your head. Think of the famous Banks save from Pele in 1970, Maradona's goal against England in 86 (obviousy not the hand ball!), Alberto's goal against Italy in 1970, Pele in 58 against Sweden etc - moments where you truly believed you had witnessed something that went beyond football ability and touched on raw genius. That is what Zola did against Wimbledon. I actually think Joe's goal against Man Utd comes closer to that then his goal aginst Spurs. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
