Interesting attendance stats for the premiership

bear in mind arsenal go on how many tickets they sell rather than how many actually turn up.

I think you firstly have to give some credit to the derby fans for turning up each week in those kind of numbers, and shame on a lot of "big" clubs for getting a lower percentage in than them. notably villa and liverpool, who we can now confirm literally only turn up for the european matches....

p.s. for a side with a "small" fanbase, and no history (etc), we don't do all that bad, despite the prices we have to put up with at the bridge.

Makes you wonder why Liverpool want a 70,000 seater stadium. Another 25,000 scousers trying to buy tickets will push the crime rate through the roof all over the Northwest.

I agree with the 3pm thing- also televised / non televised games.

and would be nice to see about away support.

sadly this is something I found, not made so I can't give any of those things.

compared to other leagues in europe we are extremely well supported (a trend that is similar in the championship)- take italy where crap stadia and (I think) individual tv deals for clubs mean that there are often lots of empty seats.

I applaud the Derby fans clap2.gif

Same, proper fans right there.

So I take it you guys also applaud Man United fans for filling Old Trafford for the 26 years they went without championship? Even during teh year on the old second division they still sold out and had the highest attendances in England.......now that is support. clap2.gif

Seriously though, Derby probably had a huge increase in seasons ticket holders this year. I doubt they would fair too well after two or three years stinking the premiership up. A similar thing happened with Blackburn when Papa Walker injected all the money in. The year before they had success the ground was half full, and they ran lots of offers. Even after things started picking up they were doing two-for-one season tickets.

Why not save all these posts for a Manyoo forum, you have won the title! Well done, go celebrate with your own fans. It's a little obsessive after being banned, you give yourself a username of 'one last try', re-register on the day you won the title and start posting about Old Trafford attendances, when you live in another country.

Yeah i really don't get it mate. You don't seem to be here on the wind up, so fair enough I guess, but I just don't understand why you are here at all??

Why would you want to talk all things Man U with people who have f*ck all interest in them? It's like me going on a golf forum to talk about Scuba diving.

The reason the stats are like that for LFC is that they dont sell around 2000 seats in the stadium due to logistics reasons. The first few rows of some stands doesn't go on sale frequently. Some seats are reserved for stewards and the press. The stats also include away fans who dont always sell out. I think around 300-400 seats are taken up by the home/away divide in the anfield road end.

Every league game this season has sold out. They should base the stats on the amount of seats available rather than the overall stadium capacity.

Man U sell their spare tickets to schools and student unions at greatly reduced prices.

im sorry mike smith, but that sounds like your grasping for excuses. reserved for stewards and press? just like most other stadia. away fans not selling out? but i thought everyone wanted to watch liverpool play.....

Sorry for the delay in reply, been a bit busy recently!

Every game this season has sold out, its as simple as that. I'm not trying to make excuses and im just guessing thats where the other seats go to. But to include the away fans in the percentage is a little odd. I'm sure there are away fans alocations in all grounds that fail to sell out (eg. fulham/middlesbrough on a wednesday night). The capacity of Anfield quoted there is an old figure. It has decreased since then for some reason.
