Chelsea are simply too calm.

As we approach the middle of June, one month only away from pre season training, it has dawned on me that the Club are entirely too relaxed about NOT having a Manager in place.

This seems to suggest that in fact WE DO have a Manager in place, and that we simply cannot announce it yet.

Reason - It is either Scolari or Hiddink whose teams are both still in the Euros.

Maybe the Ancelotti, Hughes, Spalletti, Mancini rumours are just an elaborate smokescreen to keep the press away from the truth (although not sure Kenyon would know the truth if it punched him)

Scolari has announced that with the impending resignation of the President of the Portuguese FA, with whom he has an excellent working relationship, he has no intention of extending his contract which ends after the Euro final. Hiddink remains steadfast in his commitment to Russian Football and is already talking about the 2010 World Cup (which Scolari is not)

So please do not let the Halifax know, but I am now off out to put the house on Scolari for the job at a miserly 9-4 7052005214646.gif

coombsie, even if they dont have some one, I would rather hear silence out of the club than read an endless stream of "(no hoper manager) rejects Chelsea approach!!!111"

Losing out on Hughesie was a blow, but in my opinion, the best candidates (Laudrup, Hiddink, Scolari) are still out there and jobless. Granted, I too sucumbed to the panic of last weeks embarrassments and was looking for hte panic button, but upon second examination I think its because we all thought we were so close to appointing Hughes and that he was a gimme, only to see him go to City.

If its one of the two in the Euros you mention, I will be a very very happy man. If its Mancini or Rijkaard, I will be in the bar

But did we really lose out on Hughes?.....We're we every 'really' in for him in the first place? To me it looked like City simpley wanted Hughes and went out and got him, with little interference from anyone else.

I've thought Hiddink for some time, but am now leaning towards Scolari as our next manager - surely it's a coin flip between Hiddink or Scolari, well it is for me, - There's not many left!

But what if it isn't though? 300.gif

Back to square one?

I'm pretty sure that we are right on this.

We never did approach Hughes or his advisors. There was much "paper" talk about a deal and Red Kenyon was "reported" to be keen on Hughes but I never did think that he was the man for Roman.

Quite simply, he can afford and will demand the best. (Well the second best now that the VERY best is in Milan)

Technically Roman already has Hiddink, as he pays him on behalf of the Russian FA and I believe he is unlikely to rock the boat there.

So for me, as already mentioned, its the house on Scolari, anybody know what time Corals shut ????

Cheers Lads !!!

You can probably guess that I did not put the house on Scolari for the job, but wish I had, at odds of 9-4 i would have now had 2 and a quarter houses !!!
