Loads of poor decisions from Roman. I read somewhere that we spent roughly 64m on managers alone in the past four years. We've had so many great managers to lead this team for ages in Carlo, Hiddink and Mourinho. I fear that AVB is of the Grant variety, simply not good enough. We will see at the end of the season.
I also reject the notion that AVB is here for a long time. It is widely quoted that he plans to retire early, and he keeps mentioning a 3 year project.. If Madrid or Barcelona open up I think he would leave, that's if they want him of course.

Very poor decision making. That's money could have been used to sign a good winger we desperately needed.

It's the price you pay for what you want.
What I might say icecoolguy22 is that it's not about that could have paid for a new winger, because he doesn't see it that way. It's not an either or choice for Roman.

Grant was a penalty away from winning the European Cup, not to mention three or four points off winning the title, not
to mention a Carling Cup final.

Nothing wrong with Grant. I would have kept him had my name been Roman.

Dont get me started on Grunt, the fella is a fraud, lets not forget it was Jose's team that reached the european cup final not Grunts, a friend who works at CFC told me from day one he was disliked & out of his depth, it was Steve Clarke that helped run the day to day team coaching ect.
Think back to the league cup final v Y!ds, extra time, the CFC team all in a circle with Clarke & Terry leading the way, while Grunt was walking on the outside scratching his head, yeah great management that, not forgetting he dropped Joe Cole who was playing well at the time & could ran y!ds ragged.
If he was so great why was he sacked only days after the CL final? after signing a 4yr deal not long before?
When he was out of work, Sunderland/Newcastle/Blackburn/Tottenham/West Ham/ to name a few & none of them offered him a job, why?
West Ham did a year or so later but only after they were in dire straits the same as when Pompey did, he couldnt lose could he, had no money ect so anything would have been a success instead he got relegated twice with both clubs.
Grunt dont make me laugh, good riddance to him.

And then he proved why he isn't good enough for a club of Chelsea caliber & carried by players whereas managers like Guus & Mourinho did the carrying.
