  1. Ivan needs to be careful. Right to be aggrieved, Kevin Friend looks out of his depth refereeing this match, but Zaha is getting a lot of joy down that wing.
  2. Our attacking play gets a lot of stick (some of it justified), but the interplay between Cesc, Willian and Eden in the second half has been superb. Great to see some glimpses of the football we were playing early in the season when the pressure was off. It's been all about the steel recently, but it's nice to see the sparks are still there.
  3. If Oscar's fit, now would be a good time, plenty space to exploit when they're leaving two up top.
  4. A lot of criticism of Clattenburg - I think he's let the game flow really well. Should've booked Cambiasso for his challenge on Hazard, but not much else wrong in my opinion.
  5. Apologies for the rant coming, but that's just nonsense, and I'm tired of reading posts to that extent. People completely underestimate the physicality of the league, the pressure in front of tens of thousands where every single touch is scrutinised. In literally 1 or 2 performances a fanbase can write off a player that doesn't immediately hit the ground running. It's be a massive call to bring an untested youngster into that. Even more so when it's the business end of the season. There's a process to easing in youngsters. Drogba (despite performing poorly) was the most sensible option with Oscar carrying a knock and Cuadrado still very much teething.
  6. Completely deserved. They've got 11 keen players out. We've got a passenger up front and a defensively inept Ramires covering the wing that all of their attacks are starting. Changes at HT please.
  7. Disagree with Neville - Cambiasso left his studs in. Clear yellow for me, certainly not a 'good tackle'..
  8. I don't criticise Ivanovic often, but his insistence on punting the ball at Drogba every other time he gets the ball is ruining our build up play.
  9. We're a growing project moving in the same direction as Hazard's career. It all looks positive, and I can't see him being tempted towards the door this summer. Nice words from Zidane though, whatever the context.
  10. Looks about the best lineup we could've played with Costa and Remy out. Zouma in to match Fellaini's presence makes sense. I'm expecting this to be high scoring.
  11. I agree - although I think it's more down to pressure than tiredness. I think both Jose and the players are taking it cautiously. We're a team full of quality internationals, but there's not many with Premier League medals at home. Every point seems vital now - and I can appreciate us being more protective of our 1 point from kick-off, and just cautiously probing for an opportunity to make it 3. We're not as pretty to watch right now, but I fully expect that (if) we lift the title this season, we can kick off next season with a swagger and an attacking flair.
  12. Big game for Cahill dealing with Fellaini and his elbows. Personally think this is a game for Oscar over Ramires. And Matic & Fabregas have to get stuck in. The suspensions are near enough inevitable and there's never a good time. United would punish us if they dance around 50-50s like they have been.
  13. Costa and Remy work for me - it'll be interesting to see who gets the third spot next season. I don't think a young striker's the answer - wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being someone like Zamora, or (probably a bit more unlikely still) Jelavic.
  14. JT for me. Solid game, and he never once looked bothered by the abuse. I don't mind a bit of banter from the crowd, but did they sing about anything else other than Terry? It was all just a bit cringeworthy. And that "your family are scum" chant... no words.
  15. Have to disagree with him looking uncomfortable on the ball - he was one of the few today that wanted to collect and get the ball moving on the ground. I don't think anyone could suggest he's at the top of his game right now, but he's still (in my opinion) a starter in our strongest eleven. Just curiosity - who would you have starting instead next weekend?
  16. Credit it where it's due, looks like he's playing with confidence again. Fellaini and Rooney will be the biggest test he's had since reclaiming his spot, though. Hope he's up to it.
  17. We don't get lucky breaks often, so that was probably overdue. So, so, so lucky though. Having a midfield terrified of committing a foul isn't going to work against United though. They're going to have to get stuck in, and if we lose one or both for the next games so be it.
  18. I doubt the United or Arsenal games will be much different. They'll be tight & cagey - we'll attack cautiously and hope for a set piece or a moment of magic from Eden. We've been too afraid to lose to actually play the football that got us to the top of the league.
  19. Well, I haven't had a single positive thing to say about Cuadrado since he arrived. This would be a lovely time for him to change that. 10 minutes to wake up.
  20. Can't believe this is a Premier League match...
  21. Centre back punt, mass scramble in the middle, throw-in, repeat. I've seen more boring games this season, but that was one awful quality half of football.
  22. I think that's due to the state of the pitch - no chance of a smooth back pass along the ground.
  23. Have to disagree. He's positive in possession (and I wouldn't bring him off), but he's a spare part defensively.
  24. Fair play to QPR. They're a pub team, and they've made us look the same. Fabregas is far too timid to play a holding role in this game, yet Ramires looks just as soft. I don't say this very often - bring on Mikel.
