  1. It's not like Azpi could complain. He hasn't produced the form from previous years and surely understands you either produce or lose your spot to the next guy (Reece James when fit). I feel the situation would be different from Cahill where he was just frozen out by Sarri. Off all the criticism of Sarri this one was the worst for me. You don't just from one day ignore the captain, not be honest or even communicate with him and not expect repercussions to your authority or respect within the team. I couldn't understand why Sarri did this, and makes a mockery of his man management skills. I just cant see Frank doing that- he has more class and the sense that you can be honest enough with people and still do your job properly as the gaffa. Remember he was in that position too as a player in his final season under the fat Spanish waiter and I really would be puzzled if he made the same mistake.
  2. I like him a lot, but saw some interesting analysis of his via twitter the other day. Not technical enough to know whether it matters, but worth talking about ... https://twitter.com/smarterscout The warning signs were already there last season for #Kepa Arrizabalaga . He's had mediocre shot-stopping in open play and on non-headers from dead balls, as well as, ahem, low-key defending. His ball retention is excellent, but he has to get the ball first!
  3. Just like Mohamed Salah wasn't good enough? Or maybe Kevin de Bruin? Lukaku after missing the penalty? People have short memories. Every time I see Kevin de Bruin in a Citeh shirt makes me want to rip Mourihno's eyes out. Some players need the right environment to succeed and we are not good at that (hoping Frank and the Club can change that).

People have got to remember that the vast majority of foreign player DO NOT adapt well to the EPL. Some do, but most struggle. I remember watching Malouda, or Drogba etc (there are many to name) who struggled to adjust to the speed and physicality of the EPL. Will we see the best of Pulisic this year or will it also take a year to adapt? Don't also forget he was in the tactical straitjacket of Sarri last year and not every player likes to be treated like a robot. Give the guy some time.
  5. Confidence player and needs patience and arm wrapped around him. Kinda hard in the Chelsea cauldron for such a player to have an impact as we have had managers who are solely focused on the now and couldn't worry about tomorrow. Would be a monster if he went to a lower EPL club who gave him that time. Built for the EPL and his charging dribbling runs are very hard to stop when confident. No where near the worst transfer. I'd dare to say he had a lot more impact than Mineiro ...
  6. Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox is awesome, but will be much better when it gets to PC and you can properly aim your gun with a mouse. Spent many nights just picking medicinal flowers and player poker on that thing. Hugely atmospheric and brilliantly made. Recommended.
  7. Fair play to Stokes. Gutsy. But all I can say about Headingley is ... We all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, We all f*cking hate Leeds, We all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, We all f*cking hate Leeds
  8. Yes. It went through my mind as well. Thanks for the welcome. And England are 261-6 if anyone is interested ...
  9. Hi all. 45 year old male from Melbourne Australia. Long time voyeur. Cracked the sh@ts with middle age and heading over to London in October to catch two games (Newcastle at home and Burnley away). May even go down to Aldershot to catch a Dev Squad game. Will seek to make the most of it. Is the Imperial Arms still a good place to catch a drink pre game? May seek out Chidge and co from CFFC and 'buy them a beer' as long time listener and they've been good listening over these years. Tried to get tickets via Thomascook but apparently the cheapest is £342 with a night in the Thistle and a 'posh' padded seat in the East Stand Middle. You do get a program though. Probably been said before (with apologies) but any advise on how I can get a ticket? Found sights like Ticketgum and Stubhub but also noticed the EPL warning on such sights. No point travelling so far to have a break down at the turnstile when I find the ticket is invalid, eh? Might not be good for the PTSD. KTBFFH Cheers, David (Downunderblue)
  10. Hi all. I've been busy spending the last couple of hours on this, but here is my work up for the squad status for the 2013 to 2014 season. It fulfills the EPL home grown and UCL club/ association trained player requirements. Sorry re the formatting- the tables didn't post well at all requiring a lot of manual playing around. GK Petr Cech GK New GK HG/ Assoc trained GK Jamal Blackman HG/ Club trained LB Ashley Cole HG/ Assoc trained LB Ryan Bertrand HG/ Club trained CB John Terry HG/ Club trained CB/DM David Luiz CB New CB CB Gary Cahill HG/ Assoc trained CB Andreas Christensen u/21 RB César Azpilicueta RB Wallace u/21 DM New DM CM Frank Lampard HG/ Assoc trained CM Josh McEachran HG/ Club trained CM Ramires CM Marco van Ginkel WM Victor Moses HG/ Assoc trained WM André Schürrle AM/WG Juan Mata AM/CM/WM Oscar AM/WG Eden Hazard AM/CM/WM Kevin De Bruyne CF Romelu Lukaku u/21 CF Demba Ba CF New CF The following are the players to be bought/ have been bought: New GK New CF New DM New CB Luke Shaw (JAN) André Schürrle Wallace Marco van Ginkel We need to loan out the following players for development: Billy Clifford loan- championship Kenneth Omeruo loan- championship Tomas Kalas loan- championship Lucas Piazon loan- EPL Marko Marin loan- EPL Patrick van Aanholt loan- Germany Thorgan Hazard loan- Germany Islam Feruz New contract/ loan- championship Ruben Loftus-Cheek New contract/ loan- championship Nathaniel Chalobah New contract/ loan- EPL Nathan Aké New contract/ loan- EPL Bertrand Traoré New contract/ loan- Holland (WP) Oriol Romeu New contract/ loan- Spain Thibaut Courtois new contract/ loan- Spain The following I believe need to be sold: Matej Delac Sell Jeffrey Bruma Sell Michael Essien Sell Ulises Dávila Sell Branislav Ivanovic Sell- £15 million Fernando Torres Sell- £18 million John Obi Mikel Sell- £18 million Gaël Kakuta Sell with buy back There are a lot of talking points here and I may have used the odd old stat. One thing struck me was the need for a top class DM- assuming Mikel was going. How I wish we went for Vidal or bought Yaya Toure at the time. Thoughts?
  11. I'd take him tbh. High wages but cheap transfer fee. Jose knows him and made him world class. 28 is not too old. Worth a punt- a bit of a luxury buy but he could pay off big time. Has a lot to proove.
  12. He's 17? Any chance we can buy him and in a couple of years he can be home grown AND club trained? No point loaning if that is the case.
