Would love to see the likes of Kalas, MVG and Schwarzer play but not sure how likely it is. As someone mentioned Mourinho takes every trophy seriously because he's a big believer in getting into the right habit - winning. We need to win in normal time, got to keep everyone nice and fresh. As for our three wise monkeys up front the less said the better. They'd not got into a side in the bottom half of the premier league. I'd take Shane long, Rickie Lambert and many other over those 3 useless sods. Won't win a thing unless one of them improves considerably or we sign a new striker

Well that was absolutely pathetic. Gary Neville summed it up for me that we are just relying on players to produce a moment of brilliance rather than creating good goalscoring chances. I could rant all day but that'd be pointless. Just pick it up chelsea because we won't win a thing playing like that. As for the Luiz and Cahill centre back pairing, please can we not?

Mikel for me as well. He did what was expected of him and made some good tackles. Other than Mikel there was only Hazard who did anything really, he's by far our best player at the moment and Mourinho knows it

I'd take him and Luke Shaw in a heartbeat. The pair of them have incredible potential and could MAYBE be long-term replacements for Lampard and Cole. The trouble with these two is that it seems they are of a rare breed that have their heads screwed on properly. Recognising that there is no substitute for first-team football. Even now for the pair of them we'd have to fork out £50m plus.

These through balls are ridiculous. They've clearly had an instruction to play Eto'o in at the earliest opportunity. Mata with the ball at his feet and space to run into and instead he looks for Eto'o???

What's our obsession with playing obvious through balls towards a 'fast' striker from deep in midfield? It's far too easy for their defence to read. I'd take Mikel off and replace him with Lampard. Eto'o hasn't been great but Torres isn't likely to do much more so I'd leave him on. Pick it up Chels

Gutted, absolutely gutted. Youth will never come through if you don't show some real faith. If we'd have shown the same amount of faith in Lukaku and/or Sturridge as we have done Torres we would have one or two world class strikers right now. So frustrating.

Comparing our striking options to those when we won the league... 04-05 - Drogba, Gudjohnsen, Kezman 05-06 - Drogba, Crespo, Gudjohnsen 09-10 - Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge 13/14 - Torres, Eto'o and for third choice one of Ba/Lukaku/Schurrle Sorry, but the poorest of that bunch are our options for this season. We need someone to get 20 goals from somewhere because I have no confidence in Torres or Eto'o doing so.

I would prefer a loan deal till January where we can recall if we wish, doubtful we'll get that though. With Torres and Eto'o fighting for the shirt upfront, I am not half as optimistic as I was 10 days ago.

It does help but I felt the same against Man United, he was willing to do a job for the team and looks like he has the quality as well. Like that rather than taking the easy option and drilling the ball across the face of the goal he's looking to cut it back because he knows that in a chelsea shirt Torres hangs around the penalty area rather than going to the front post.

Really really like the look of Schurrle. I wasn't awfully optimistic about him after pre-season but he's full of running and seems to have a good positional sense. Like the balance that him and Hazard out wide gives us.

f**king Torres AGAIN. I can deal with Mata not starting because of his match fitness. Can understand that MVG probably needs match practice (not saying I agree with these decisions but I can at least understand them) But I can no longer deal with Torres being in the team. I can't believe it's just the majority of chelsea fans who don't want him anymore rather than every single one of us. Can't wait to see him dribble at defenders and fall over the ball, make no runs off the ball when Hazard and co have it in advanced positions and constantly blaming someone else when it doesn't go his way.

Schalke, other than Marseille they were probably the weakest team in Pot B so that's a pretty good outcome.

I can't help but imagine how amazing this would feel if it was five years ago and we had Eto'o and Torres in our team! Slightly different now.

I've never seen the guy play so don't shoot me down if I'm wrong... But would there be any chance we're signing him because we see potential to develop him into a left back? I have my doubts and like many of you have said, feel he's being brought in with the intention of being sold on for a tidy profit.
