  1. Half the quality of Reece James and injured twice as much. Sell all day long. I suspect if he does go it’ll be on loan as no team in their right mind are going to pay his £23m book value given his injury record
  2. Zero. Have a good day! … In all seriousness, he’s just signed a new deal. He was on £225k a week on his previous deal and I doubt he’s taken a wage cut.
  3. Levi Colwill head and shoulders above everyone else yesterday IMO. Is it a surprise to anyone that they have spent £1.8bn and our two best players are Cobham graduates?
  4. He’s one of the few players we have that we could sell and book an accounting profit on, so I fully expect him to leave again in the summer.
  5. Absolutely this. Would not surprise me one bit to learn that we have paid over inflated transfer fees (Gittens springs to mind, amongst others) whilst some of their preferred agents have profited. They are either naive enough to have been strung along by agents, incompetent beyond the level we already know they are, or they have got their hands in the till. At this point, nothing would surprise me.
  6. The irony in all of this is that the people supposedly discussing the plan for Liam are the same idiots who thought it was a good idea to appoint him in the first place. Where is the accountability for the Sporting Directors? Or are our ownership that dense when it comes to footballing matters, that whatever these Directors tell them, they believe to be true? In what other world would the owner(s) of a business allow the leadership team to get away with what these under qualified SD’s are getting away with?
  7. I’ll go for Leeds 3-1 here. Ordinarily would have gone to the game but I shan’t be wasting my money until this ownership admit to their mistakes and get rid of the sporting directors who are largely responsible for this catastrophe.
  8. Under Roman he would have never been hired in the first place and if he had been, he would have been long gone before now. We are in such a financial mess that I imagine we have to wait until we mathematically can’t qualify for the Champions League to then get rid of him without having to pay him off from his 6 year deal. What a mess.
  9. The ‘squad building’ over these 4 windows has been atrocious. We have one recognised senior striker in Jackson, 3 attacking midfielders who are all paid as if they should be starting and seemingly 3 central midfielders (I won’t even count KDH as a CM because he’s championship level). The other elephant in the room is how PSR is dictating our squad building. Petrovic wasn’t banished because Maresca didn’t think he was good enough, it was because we signed him for £8m so he’s the only goalkeeper we can sell and book a profit on. The same reason we have to play Sanchez every week because we vastly overpaid and no club in their right mind would offer more than £5m for him now. Maresca alluded to the same thing with Chalobah. Everyone could see he’s miles ahead of Disasi but we’d book a loss on a Disasi has to stay and we have to farm Chalobah out. The same thing with Gallagher, Mount, CHO etc etc. Ironic now that we are crying out for a LW and about to drop £60m on Garnacho having sold Callum for £3m. The owners have to recognise that the sporting directors are hamstringing us with their woeful signings. We’ve overpaid for so many duds who we will now have to loan out season after season because we can’t afford to sell them due to likely PSR breaches. The club is an absolute farce. Get some proper football operators in, not ones whose only appointment at note is working for a mid table Brighton. The soul is being ripped from the club and we are being dumped with the sporting directors failed signings. Sell any player who we are fortunate enough to be able to make a profit on and see what we’re lumbered with. How on earth is that a winning strategy for sporting success?
  10. Out of his depth. Get rid of him and Scottish bowling ball sidekick before we’re sucked into mediocrity for the rest of eternity.
  11. That is the most gutless performance I’ve seen from a Chelsea team in a long long time. Players looking disinterested and clueless going forward. Arsenal played in second gear today and we couldn’t get near them.
  12. I’d rather see the chuckle brothers than Ziyech
  13. In positive news I think Ziyech did manage to complete one pass. Azpi and Jorginho in the same team is becoming difficult to watch. Not feeling the same positivity as some, this was Salzburg at home, who only had one fit first team centre back.
  14. Rumours flying around Twitter that we have bid £43m for Ajax DM Edson Alvarez. Can’t say I know much about him but based on last nights abject performance, we need cover there!
  15. Not really, but neither can any of our other CM’s
  16. It would be so sweet to beat them tomorrow and knock them down a peg or two. All I’ve heard in the build up is how wonderful Spurs are and how sh*t we are and what an awful transfer window we’ve had. Not sure I can stand much more Spud loving from the national media if they were to win, so would take a draw right now. Hopefully we start on the front foot and the crowd helps to push us on to 3 points!
  17. Aubameyang comes in for a year, Broja leaves for c.£10-15m less than his market value, we insert a buy back clause only for Real Madrid to snaffle him in a couple of years time, we are left searching for another striker after PEA has a stinker. No thanks.
  18. Wide open at the back, no control in midfield and don’t look like scoring. Pathetic.
  19. Another awful performance, make that 4 in the last 4 games now. We didn’t play well against Everton or Wolves, were lucky against West Ham and didn’t play well again yesterday. Where is our control in midfield? Against Wolves our midfield was wide open and every time they got the ball towards the end of that game they seemed to be running forward against an unprotected defence. Again yesterday we struggled in the middle of the pitch and relied on making enough crosses for one to go in eventually. When we do cross there only ever seems to be the central striker there, who is generally outnumbered, no runners from midfield getting into the box and the opposite full back isn’t in there either. Really concerned at the moment.
  20. Thought we played well defensively. Their only really good chance coming just before half time when Jorginho lost the ball in midfield and Mendy saved from Rashford. Slightly disappointed we didn’t go for it a little more in the first half with Martial, Greenwood and Pogba all out of the team I would’ve hoped we’d push for 3 points. Positives: Mendy, Chilwell, Silva, James. Concerns: Our general play going forward. We created hardly anything all game, similar to our performance against Sevilla. We have no control in midfield whatsoever with Kante and Jorginho. We play some nice football to beat the press in our own half but then beyond that we don’t look like creating guilt edge chances because there aren’t any players in the box.
  21. Both him and Alonso seem to want to play the game in 3rd gear. Little/no urgency, particularly when defending. Ideally we’d sell both of them this window and get in a genuine back-up option. At this point I’d hope we might consider bringing Maatsen into the first team and using Azpi as second choice LB with Maatsen adding more depth.
  22. From watching us last night it seems blindingly obvious to me that we need a player in the mould of Declan Rice. Assuming that Chilwell and Reece James are our starting full backs, we need cover infront of our two centre backs when they push forward. For whatever reason Frank (and previous managers) haven’t fancied Kante in that role and see him as a more dynamic midfielder. Fernandinho and more recently Fabinho at Liverpool have acted as perfect protection in front of the back 4. Too many times we turn the ball over and the opposition are running at our back 4 (sometimes 2/3) with no cover.
  23. A straight ball splits both defenders and they’re in on goal as easy at that. Christensen has cost us too many times now to suggest he’ll ever develop into the player we once hoped he’d be.
  24. Feels as if he’s been playing in second gear ever since his return from injury. Whether that’s because of fitness, holding himself back or injuries have taken their toll, I don’t know. Previously he would coast around, the ball would come near him and he’d explode, just not seeing that any more. He gave the ball away needlessly time and time again, whether he was trying to nutmeg someone in his own half, controlling the ball poorly or playing a poor pass. How much longer do we give him?
  25. Twitter suggesting that RLC, Jorginho, Kante, Mount Werner and Havertz all start. If true it doesn’t look good for CHO that he can’t get a start when Pulisic isn’t fully fit and Ziyech is injured.
