  1. For the first time that I can think of, we have a manager who doesn’t want to be here, a board who don’t want him here yet we are waiting to part with him? What exactly is it that we are waiting for? I’m not aware of any term in his contract that means it will be considerably more expensive to sack him now than when the season ends? Conte is determined to prove that he was right about the underinvestment in the squad and the board seem hell bent on hanging him out to dry. It really does seem like a perfect storm which is just circulling around us and won’t dissipate. For what its it’s worth I really rate Conte and I’m certain he will be a success wherever he goes next. Unfortunately for reasons unbeknown to us, we seem to have a deep rooted problem at board level with giving any of our managers freedom in the transfer market. Sadly whilever that is the case we won’t ever get a manager who can build a dynasty and bring through youth players, instead, we will hire coaches to get the best out of what they have, until such point that they want more and the board won’t sanction it. Irrespective of what happens in the last few weeks of this season, thanks for everything last year, Antonio and all the best for the future.
  2. I only managed to catch the second half so can’t comment on the first half but from what I saw we never looked like scoring, which has happened far too many times in games recently. Their two goals were both fortunate but we really do need to improve quickly, or the Barcelona game could be an embarrassment.
  3. Well would you believe it, we’ve started on the front foot and we’re winning 2-0. A brilliant start from the boys. Long live 3-4-3!
  4. David Luiz displaying some fine skills in the art of what he likes to call marking, which involves standing within a minimum of 5 yards away from your oppponent.
  5. Every time I watch David Luiz play it reminds me of how much I should appreciate Andreas Christensen.
  6. I’m 100% confident we will not pay £30m for him. Anything other than a 6 month loan is ridiculous. Our board are not that inept... are they?
  7. To be honest I think Willian and Pedro both on was the right change to make. Looking more positive already.
  8. Tried to stay optimistic but this 3-5-2 business just doesn’t work right now with the midfield 3 we are using. Leicester are pushing us back and we have no out ball because Morata is so isolated. Hazard having an off day which kills any chance of this formation actually working. Please bring Willian on for Fabregas (don’t trust a midfield two of Kante and Fabregas) at half time and let’s play positively for the first time in weeks.
  9. Wasn’t convinced 3-5-2 was the right formation at home to Arsenal, even less convinced it’s the way we should go at home against weaker opposition such as Leicester. Nevertheless I’m hopeful of a win to get confidence going again. A big performance from Hazard with a goal or two from Morata will do just nicely.
  10. I think we’re at a bit of a crossroads at the moment with regards to what formation we should go with. Although the 3-5-1-1/3-5-2 gives us solidity in midfield it absolutely kills our attack and makes us painfully one dimensional. It worked perfectly away at Atletico Madrid, but I think that was partly down to the element of surprise. At home, in games we should be winning, I really think we need to go with 3-4-3 and show some attacking intent from the outset. All in all another poor game. We must do better.
  11. He’s reminding me more and more of the Chelsea Torres lately. He’s completely out of form at the moment at such a critical time in the season! Hopefully he can score at the weekend and get some of his early season confidence back.
  12. Sometimes I wish I was less arsed so I wouldn’t have to sit through such dismal performances. We never even looked like scoring.
  13. Maitland Niles really has the better of Moses. I don’t think Moses believes he even has half a chance of beating him and it’s really starting to show. Unfortunately our back up is Zappacosta so let’s stick with Moses and focus more of our attacks down the left! Bakayoko has been truly woeful, as has been the case too many times this season. I think we would benefit from putting Drinkwater in his position and allowing Fabregas to play higher up the pitch closer to Morata and Hazard. 3 points still up for grabs. Come on Chels!
  14. Poor performance all round. Still not convinced by Bakayoko or Zappacosta, hopefully they come good in time. Although I can see the benefits of playing Hazard through the middle in our new 3-5-2/3-5-1-1 system, I think we need to go back to what made us so successful last season with our 3-4-3, especially without Drinkwater. Hoping for a much better performance against Huddersfield, possibly a well earned start for Michy after his two goals in the week.
  15. So much wrong in this game that I don't really know where to start. Azpi is by far our best centre back, yet we start him at wing back. Fabregas and Bakayoko have looked awful as a midfield two every time they've played together, yet we start them together. Again. I think my next point was eluded to earlier in the thread, no guts. Players look uninterested, and to be frank, so am I. It they don't want to play with passion then I don't want to sit and watch. Very concerned by some of the body language of the players tonight. Bring on United this Sunday...
  16. I'm so reluctant to criticise JT with him being such a hero. The only thing I would say is that I hope he hangs up his boots before his game declines any further. He can still do a everything he used to in one sense but his lack of pace and agility hurts him at times. Glad to see us pick up the 3 points in the end, some valuable minutes for some players and valuable rest for others. Well played to Batshuayi, Chalobah, Ake and Aina. Really hope they stick around next season.
  17. So far I have been fairly impressed with Chalobah and I think Ake has potential to be a good utility player in the squad next season. I'm hopeful that we will keep hold of both of them next season, I would expect us to if it means adding to our homegrown quota for the Champions League. Sadly I can't say the same for Zouma and I definitely cannot say the same for Kenedy. I would hope Zouma gets a loan next season to get some valuable minutes. As for Kenedy I just don't think he's good enough. He makes poor decisions in the final third and is certainly not a defender. On the subject of the game I've been impressed with our attitude, playing with intensity despite having already won the league. Let's hope we keep the winning feeling going all the way to the FA Cup final!
  18. The press push and push for outbursts like Mourinho's after the Southampton game so they can create a story to run during the week after the game has finished and the drab internationals take over. The fact he has been fined £50k is an absolute disgrace. The FA are an absolute embarrassment, sadly we have anti-football etonians running our Football Association, and we have anti-football criminals running the game at the highest level. It's all so brilliantly mad that it's just about enough to keep us talking during the week while we crave our true football fix. I'm hoping we use this latest bout of injustice to spur the team on. Mourinho's name will ring around Stamford Bridge on the back of this and we will use it to propel our season. Come on Chels.
  19. Ivanovic cannot start this game. At the moment taking a roasting in every game he plays in is sending his confidence in the same direction this seasons results are sending the team. I'd like to see a lineup of Begovic Azpi Zouma Terry Rahman Ramires Mikel Loftus Cheek Willian Hazard Costa Mikel should not be allowed 5 yards past the half way line all game to cover for the marauding Rahman, who should be allowed freedom to get past Hazard to offer us another dimension going forward. The inclusion of Mikel should negate the problem of an exposed JT whilst allowing Rahman to get forward. We have to be at the races from the first whistle to the last. I hope the crowd get behind the team; I'm relying on Diego to get the crowd going for this one. An absolute must win.
  20. He's absolutely fantastic. A menace all around the pitch with an eye for goal. He's powerful, fairly quick, a natural finisher and gives absolutely everything to the cause. He's a Mourinho player if there has ever been one. We have the perfect mix this season and I can't see us not winning the title. Loving that the bookies have slashed his prices for the top scorer so quickly!
  21. Think we need an alternative to the power of Costa and Drogba, Remy offers that. Think he should be the one we go for, particularly at the price he's available at.
  22. Hope we've written in a clause where we can recall him in January......
  23. A "2 year loan deal" confirmed on twitter. Cheerio
  24. I think I'm in love
  25. Just seen it on SSN too. Really hope we keep him. Young and improving, offers us something different and I'm hoping will be more involved this year. Seems a good guy as well.
