Roma Vs Chelsea (CL) Tue 31st Oct 2017 KO 19:45 GMT

Featured Replies

A point here would be good result. Would have preferred a 3-5-2, but our performances have been poor with that formation.

Would stick to a 3-4-3.

Tibo

Azpi Luiz Rudiger

Zappa Kante/Drinkwater Bakayoko Alonso

Pedro Morata Hazard

Will be a hard game. Would have liked some rotation too but the sub players (except for the defence, looks really short mainly talking about forwards and fullbacks).

Not so sure if it's going to be a hard game. Roma is one of the most unpredictable teams in the world. They may smash your a** like they did 2 weeks ago or they may totally collapse for 90 minutes against mediocre teams. I truly believe in their inability to repeat the last performance they met us. So my prediction is 0-3.

I've got a feeling we'll be more comfortable playing in Rome than at the Bridge, where we were coming into the game below our best. So who will be champing at the bit to play in this game? Top of the list is Rudiger, who no doubt, would love to ram it back down the Roma racist fans throats. Zappacosta and Alonso will be looking to go back to Italy to put in a show. Morata would be desperate to turn over one of Juve's big rivals. Last, but not least Conte, returning to the country of his birth and of his many successes. I can see us winning this game.

A win here will be huge.

like people have said you don’t know what you will get with Roma.

Dunno if Kante will start straight away or will come on later.

i would start with him and then take him off later if we are in control.

courtois

azbi luiz Rüdi

zappa Kante bakayoko alonso

pedro morata Hazard

subs cabellero, Christensen, Willian, Batman, Fabregas, drinkwater, Cahill

Bring on fabregas for Pedro later if we need to change the dynamic of the game.

Hoping we get a win. However our performances have been dodgy for the past 6 games.

Apparently Roma have the best defensive record in Serie A, so at their ground I wouldn't be surprised to see another draw or few goals. Feel like as we're going into the game stronger than last time a 1-0 win would be very possible... but we'll probably have to grind it out.

The team practiced before taking off to Rome. I believe we will see Kante playing a role in this match

ok I might have been a bit premature about Kante playing. The Gaffer just said this:

Kante trained with us, also before the game at Bournemouth. I think it is very important in this moment to speak to the player and important the player’s sensation. I was a player and I know very well after an injury, a bad injury, it is very important to listen to the player which are the sensation. For him and the team, tomorrow we try to make the best decision.

Makes sense to me, let the player decide without any pressure.

Going to be an interesting game, let's hope Conte will pick the good tactic for this game. We're still not at our best, having Kante in this game would be awesome. Can't wait to see us celebrating after tomorrow, COME ON CHELS!!!!!

This is an important game, not so much because Roma is a top class club like Barca or Real (which obviously they are not), but because we were a little sloppy a couple of weeks ago with these guys and a win gets us through to the knockout stage. Still need to finish first in the group, but a win today will go a long way towards this. Plus, it is time to see a really solid performance against a decent club and on the road to boot.

I would not mind this line up with Cesc setting up Morata or Hazard:

- - - - - - - Courtois - - - - - - -

- - Dave - - Luiz - - Rudiger - -

Zappa - Kante - Baka - Alonso

- - - - - - - - - Cesc - - - - - - - -

- - - - - Morata - Hazzard - - - -

I know you will not see it, but it might not be a bad idea.

I expect Pedro instead of Cesc for his pace and scoring ability.

Let's look good at Roma lads!!

Come on you Chelsea!!

This is pretty much the team I would pick, although I would start either Drinkwater or Pedro instead of Cesc for this one. It would be good to seer Kante/Drinkwater/Baka combo. Is Kante definitely available for this match??

I have read in the Telegraph that Kante will decide at game time if he is ready. The physios have given him the ok I believe. Not sure Drinkwater is set to play much more than 60 minutes so I am thinking he would be a good sub for either Kante or Baka, especially with a lead.

If they're all good to go then Kante/Drinkwater/Baka is the way to go, with Drinwater just in front of them. That midfield will dominate Roma.

I know this sounds crazy, but a draw wouldn't be bad for either CFC or Roma. It would be bad for Atletico Madrid, who have dropped a lot of points already are looking for their first win in the Group. I am sure they will get it when hosting Qaraba? FK tomorrow. Now it's crunch time in group stage.

It's a nothing story by the media. Again.

Stirring the pot just as we get a bit of form

I agree. if one takes seriously those rumours, then even abramovich would be willing to sell CFC... Ridiculous as usual!! But when the other spud fcukwit (jenas I believe) is deemed relevant as a pundit.... nothing surprises me anymore. What comes from the gutter (almost 90% of british sports' press and media) stays in the gutter !!

This is such an important match. If we lose and Atletico win it will turn into a three horse race again.Fabregas should be consigned to a Tapas bar in West London and locked in there. Bakayoku needs a rocket up his backside. The number of times he falls over/stumbles and loses the ball is quite ridiculous. Maybe he should try some new boots. I'd like to see Kante, Drinkwater and Bakayoku in midfield. Hazard, Pedro and Morata upfront. Zappacosta will have to track back and help Dave out. We can't have a repeat of the first leg where Dave got taken to the cleaners. Rudiger, Dave and Luiz at the back. This is going to be a tough match to predict. Let's hope the return of Kante brings some stability to our midfield. It's all to play for. Let's hope we get all 3 points. COME ON YOU BLUES !!!

Agree about a 3 man mid. But I cant see Conte going to 4 at the back and changing the way we play for such an important game.
