  1. Another article here. Makes me feel better about the signing especially coming from JT, someone who's played against him in his prime along with every other world class striker. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/9918671/falcaos-chelsea-deal-discussed-with-john-terry-says-jose-mourinho
  2. Just speculating. Just thinking we'd have Hazard, Willian, Cuadrao, Salah then Sterling as wingers seems one is set to leave most likely Salah. That make me think Liverpool wanted Salah before we signed him that could be a swap thats more possible, I know swaps don't happen often and only if both players what the move which could be true in this case.
  3. Was that not Gibbs? wait a minute...
  4. Seems Cuadrado's let slip that Falcao is already a Chelsea player. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/584994/Juan-Cuadrado-Radamel-Falcao-Manchester-United-Chelsea-Transfer-News-Gossip
  5. If we hadn't thrown £30m at Cuadrado then the £40-50m price tag might not have looked too bad, but he's obviously going to play down the right if we did buy him so what was the point in Cuadrado? Where Liverpool interested in Cuadrado? Could be a swap on the cards? thats the only way we would be able to compete with City we aren't going to outbid them. Unless he is set on going back to London. Does £25-30million plus Cuadrado looks more appealing?
  6. I like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain think he has the potential to become a top player and would be classed as home grown. Maybe a bit too injury prone and I doubt Arsenal will let him leave unless he forces it though. All in all I would be for this transfer.
  7. Looks inevitable now, seems strange to be hoping a player improves and hits form before we've even signed him. Anyway I with barak81 I now believe we've just signed one of the best if not best number 9 in the business. I just need a song for him.
  8. Does anyone know Diegos injury record for Atletico? Interesting to know if this is a reoccurring problem or just one one that he couldn't shake off, probably due to us trying to rush him back.
  9. I agree that Falcao is a one year trial and not a block on our developing youngsters. My only worry is if next season the league is a lot closer (which I think it will be) and we are in a similar situation towards the end with injuries/tiredness as we were this season, relying on a Drogba/Falcao could cost us the league. I'm not saying we need 3 Costas but an improvement is needed, the league will be tougher and we weren't good enough in the Champions League. I'm not sure of this one but I'm willing to see how it turns out and hope Jose knows what he's doing. Remember this won't be the only new player we buy, I'm optimistic that there will be some better signings this summer.
  10. It seems to me that we are looking for an experienced short term solution with the view of putting Solanke in the team in 2-3 seasons time. Buying younger players on longer contracts could be viewed as stopping the development path of Solanke. Is Falcao the right choice? I'm not sure. When the rumour first appeared I was dead against it, not sure if because its becoming more real I'm convincing myself it could turn out to be a good deal, but I feeling more accepting of it.
  11. He just needs minutes under his belt
  12. Sky Sports says 'Cuadrado signs for Chelsea'
  13. I believe Willian has had plenty of good performances for us and when he's not on form he still gives his all for the team so I don't understand why people hate on him. For me anyway I find that Schurrle is mostly anonymous when he starts games and I sometimes don't realise hes playing until he would have some outrageous shot. He defiantly has an eye for goal but doesn't contribute enough in general play for me and his dribbling consisted of running straight at the opposition and hoping for a lucky deflection. For some reason I've got a good feeling about this Cuadrado guy I think he's going to be a boss down the wing. Heres hoping for another successful transfer window.
  14. Didn't Willian play more central for Shaktar? I think he would suit that better.
  15. Willian a terrible player? I don't think so, which teams in the premier league would he not start in? I'm happy we got rid of schurrle rather than Willian don't really get the hatred the lad gets, but I agree we could do with an improvement in an attacking sense down the right side. Don't know much about Cuadrado but from what I saw in the WC he looked to have plenty of energy and pace along with a good cross.
  16. Sorry I think I might have put a bit of a downer on such a great weekend. Its blue Monday today supposedly the most depressing day of the year, but not for us Blues fan though a great win for us, and the City result is just the icing on the cake.
  17. I don't see it as a major conspiracy just that we get treated like the ugly sister by the media sometimes not that I bothered it makes it even sweeter when we win.
  18. Maybe so but have you ever thought that the editors maybe bias? Many times I've watched the whole match then turned on MOTD for them to miss half our shots and show every little shot the opposition have making it look like an even game (although pretty impossible to do this weekend). Then on the other hand they always make Man U look better than they should. I mean from the footage they showed at the weekend it looked like they smashed QPR but from what most Man U fans who watched the match say they were awful. It was only a few weeks ago they talked about Cahills dive for the whole segment without mentioning anything else which resulted in another agenda over Chelsea players diving. Then golden boy Gerrard carrys on falling over in the box with no mention.
  19. Don't know if you've noticed the BBC's obsession with showing an emotionless Mourinho after every goal we score, well they messed up on MOTD on Saturday. After I think the 2nd goal they showed the usual non impressed Mourinho shot but failed to notice that Costa was in the background on the bench, then miraculously scored the 3rd and setup the 4th. This shows the BBC are looking for the worst possible shots of Mourinho to show after the goals and not showing the true reaction. Why would they do this? I've always thought MOTD take selective highlights that didn't show the true nature of the game but this is just a pure agenda to portray someone in bad light.
  20. The thing is if Lukaku hadn't of forced a move to Everton and stayed like Mourinho wanted he could well have forced his way into the starting eleven due to the lack of striking options we had. Now he's returning after we've just spent big money on Costa. He's now got a fight on his hands to start games were as before the fight would have been pretty easy for him to win and he would have been established in the team by the time Costa appeared on the scene. The lad talks about playing for a big club but doesn't want to fight for it. No team is going to give him a guaranteed start in a CL club and the sooner he realises this the soon he can knuckle down and put in the hard work necessary.
  21. The guy defiantly put a smile on my face watching him play as well as pulling my hair out on occasions. Sadly it didn't work out. All the best Geezer
  22. To be honest players like Hazard, and Rooney have been bought off one season and we are strongly linked with Costa who has had one good season. I think we have to look at the potential talent and make a judgement thats what the scouts and manager are suppose to do, no point losing out because we wanted to see if he has another great season. If this lad is our left back for the next 15 years then 30m isn't that much. I personally would grab him while we can because once he has gone to utd he will be there for the rest of his career. Plus we need more English Talent and it is very rare at the moment, regulations will be put in place in the future to restrict foreign players more and more. Everyone knows we need a striker and I believe we need a future left back and I'm not impressed with Bertrand and Van Aanholt so somewhere else we need to invest if that means less midfielders coming in we have good players on loan that can take up positions in the squad and I would like to see Van Ginkel used in the centre with Matic and Bertand Traore looks special. Are Man Utd just desperate or do they see a worthwhile future investment? Probably a bit of both.
  23. Is that Torres's body? Just when I thought he couldn't get any worse.
  24. Still massively disappointed but I accept we got beaten fair and square. All the goals where a little scrappy and a bit lucky but I think for the first time in years we've got out of the competition without any controversial decisions. Was a close match and could have gone ether way just the luck was on their side this time, maybe the lack of an away goal was our major downfall. Oh well on to next season then and try again.
