adineen98
According to Sky sources we're interested in Raheem Sterling. Apparently, Chelsea are "monitoring the situation at Anfield but are not prepared to meet Liverpool's £50 million valuation" Should Mourinho splash the cash on Sterling? Is he worth it? Would he fit in and suit Chelsea's style of play?
shresthaprabeshl
If we have 140 mil to spend i think we should risk it and bid him as he has a lot of potential and he's still so young he can become a worldclass player under mourinho!
Chelsbear
Liverpool can jog on. £50 million? Not a chance....not after nando! Although of we could shift Cuadrado and Salah while adding Sterling for not much more then I'd be happy.
SurfCFC
Don't think he'd be the worst signing - fee dependant - but would he shape up for Mourinho? Because he wouldn't let him slack, would Sterling get pissed off and spit his dummy out? His pace would be good (is he right sided or pretty much plays anywhere in that front 3/4?) and we could ship out Cuadrado and Salah to help pay for it. Home grown as well which is always a bonus!! If we do sign a midfielder like Jose said we would then someone has to go, be that a fringe player or a first team member
SurfCFC
He tracks back quite a lot, still no more then 30 for me Good, at least that would please Jose! Yep, 30m would be for me the max, 20-25 ideal. You reckon Liverpool would want Salah? Or even if we'd want to include him in the deal?

enigma
I guess i would be for this if we sign an oxlaide-chamberlain or walcott from arsenal in part exchange + cash too.

ForeverCarefree
£35 to 40m bid could work out decent business for anyone who gets him. Potentially he could be at a good level for 10 years and from an FFP point of view it probably doesn't work out that badly over the length of what you'd assume would be a 5 year contract to start with. Quality wingers are at a premium right now and Sterling has a lot of potential, especially under the right guidance.

charierre
If he's available we should definitely throw our cap into the ring on this one. He has the potential that Jose could unlock and make into a world class player. He has to stay with our budget but his apparent preference for London could tip the balance in our favour. General
how can he be worth 30, 40, 50 or even 20 million? he had 1 good season before last at the dippers, Suarez made them all look good last year he was nowhere near as good dippers want 200%- 300% of his true value just to play hard ball with the world so No not for 50 million
dan_cfc
50m? They can get f**ked. He is good young player but nothing special another inflated price for an Englishman worth nothing more than 20m IMO.

Jackbuchanan
dont we already have hazard on the left ? so lets pay 30 millions for a super sub ? He is fore most a right winger, so would suit us. Cuadrado and salah would have to go. Considering this guy is one of englands hottest prospects i would say all the sceptics would be eating there words if it comes off. Still not 50m though, a fair valuation would be around 30-35m.

sergio7
Wow, i think sometimes our love for Chelsea blinds us a bit. Sterling is an England international at the age of 20. How many players under 21 have had a better season than he did last year. Yes he wasn't as good this year but with everything that's going on there i don't really blame him. He was asked to be the main man for his team at such a young age. And no, there are currently no better players than him in our academy and the chances that they will reach the heights he did last year are slim. You're buying for potential, you're buying for the footballer mourinho could mould him into. He's got fantastic tools and under Mourinho he could be world class. At the age of 19 he was arguably one of the top 5 performers in the league. What was Hazard at 19? What was Willian at 19? What was Oscar at 19? Arguably Sterling is in a tougher situation and playing relatively better than them when they were his age. People get upset when other clubs value our players. We say "only 25 million for Oscar, well they can f£$k off!!!" Well guess what, Sterling had a better year last year than Oscar has ever had all at the age of 19. Look at the prices out there. You can't get anybody good for less than £20 million. If push came to shove i'd pay about £40 million. But that's because i have confidence in Mourinho and i have confidence that Sterlings year last year wasn't a fluke and that he will only get better. That player playing for us, alongside Hazard would strike fear into opposing teams. If he had come through our ranks we'd be gushing about him but since he didn't we'll continue to think people who have played less than 100 minutes of senior football are better than an England International...
