Following the World Cup hopefully our Blueco sporting directors now know who Jon Stones is. Of course with these twats, that's not a given, but hopefully.
Desailly was three weeks shy of his 30th birthday when he made his competitive debut for us. Tiago Silva was 35. Stones is 32 and is available on a FREE transfer. He is exactly what we need. Experienced, won it all, leadership qualities and always comes across as an intelligent thoughtful guy in his interviews. Just the role model our young players need. Why isn't this done and dusted already?

What a wonderful set of performances from Cape Verde. I was there for my 40th in Feb, its such a cool place, and they are such a nice nation of people, have really enjoyed watching them go toe to toe with three previous world cup winning teams. Great performances, great spirit and great heart.
And what a goal there 2nd was. Unbelievable technique to pull that off. Wouldn't be surprised to see him and some of the others make some big moves after this comp.

Went there three years ago. The people were delightful, and were happy to talk football endlessly (and knowledgeably). I had no idea they were any good at it. The islands don't seem to lend themselves to football, being very hot, windy and desert-y, and with few obvious facilities. The quality of their football has astounded me.

I'm not sure why Enzo gets so much hate. Since Palmer has dropped off I think he has been our best player. Pedro at times making an argument for himself, likewise Reece when injury free. But Enzo much more consistent.

I'm not sure why Enzo gets so much hate. Since Palmer has dropped off I think he has been our best player. Pedro at times making an argument for himself, likewise Reece when injury free. But Enzo much more consistent.

Their second goal is some of the worst defending you will ever see
First mistake. Chalobah, at 26 years old, doesn't know how to deal with this. A simple header away, but he can't work it out.


2nd mistake. Caicedo, not strong enough in the tackle, losses out to the Leeds attacker who is surrounded by 4 Chelsea players


3rd mistake. Acheampong literally just needs to clear this for a throw. Somehow he fails to do that, panics and slips.


4th mistake. Gusto decides to just pass it to the Leeds player for a tap in 😐

My analysis of this...
I'm fed up of seeing the usual suspects starting against these "weaker" opponents. It's obvious blue co have a part in this, Rosenior surely wouldn't follow the same play book as Maresca through his own choice. We got away with this one, but if we want to be playing champions league football next year we need be fielding our best 11 every game. I don't think Delap and Gittens even deserve to lace the boots of the likes of Pedro and Estevao. We have a legitimate title contending starting 11, but our second team is terrible, and if blue co keep insisting we play them we will never win anything.
That being said, once we got our best players on we played a hell of a second half. Credit to Joao Pedro, his heroics this week have helped prove what a signing he is. I legitimately think he will be our best striker since Drogba.
