  1. Hazard's got a raging stonk-on for this second half. Beautiful to watch.
  2. I hate dull games like this where you just can't see a goal coming from anywhere.
  3. I'm probably the worst kind of supporter we could wish for, and would totally understand if I were to be shunned by Chelsea fans with better reasons/family ties. I wasn't really into football at the time, however a lot of kids at my school obviously were, as were cousins, uncles etc. But almost everyone seemed to 'support' manUre, but in that really horribly obnoxious way that manUre fans have about them. The superiorty complex, talking trash to people who like other teams...basically being smug twats, which was especially annoying as I live in Norwich, meaning that their only tie to manUre was the fact that they won everything. I wanted all these arrogant, smug manUre fans to be put in their place, and at the time with my limited knowledge of football I understood that Chelsea were the team who could overthrow them (this was around the time Abramovich took over). At first I didn't really care about it for Chelseas sake, I just wanted them to win so that manUre wouldn't. But game after game I started getting into it and then of course got more fanatical when Chelsea would play, and win. Got to know the players (absolutely loved Drogba in particular), and it kind of just started like that. I probably seem like as much of a glory supporter as all the manUre fans that I hated so much...a right old hypocrite! But in my defence I have actually been to see Chelsea many times, bought a membership, etc, so maybe not as plastic as most manc fans, and I do have a soft spot for my local Norwich too.
  4. Stamford Bridge is like a library anyway. Half the stadium is filled with tourists and bar the occasional noise coming from the Shed and MH, it may as well be empty. If you want to see examples of where fans may actually provide such vocal and visual support to the point where it would affect jaded footballer, take a look at teams like Besiktas, Saint Etienne, Gremio, Napoli. Unfortunately, we are a glamour club and so most of our support is from fickle kids who love us while we're winning...If you're from Saint Etienne you certainly don't support your club because they win anything, you do it because you truely love them.
  5. It's absolutely horrible having to play against Everton. Always one of the toughest games. Great 3 points.
  6. Great stream.... http://hdfooty.tv/live_bt_sport1.php
  7. I'm fairly new here and I know my credibility will be pretty much destroyed after making this comment, but... I actually hope liverpool make the top 4. I just want anyone else but manUre to get that 4th spot. I hate them to the point where it probably affects both my physical and mental health. Edit: I was happy when liverpool won their last game with that penalty in the 90th minute...........Forgive me!
  8. I think it's fair to say he has far more than just potential. Look at it this way, he's 21 and is without a doubt (for people who regularly watch his games) already one of the better keepers in the game. Were he to stop improving immediately and remain at his current level, you would still have most managers scrambling over each other to get him. But then consider the fact that he's only 21, which makes it logical to believe that he will only improve further in to his twenties. If he's this good now, imagine him at 25/26. Secondly, as Bluehatter mentioned, what happens in 4/5 years when Cech is likely to be past his prime. We'll have to shop around and pay an extortionate amount of money on a keeper who probably won't be as good as Courtois already is, or promises to be. Being sentimental is all well and good but seriously, 4/5 years time when we're looking for a new keeper this would look like one of the most short sighted decisions we could have made. Also to those saying Courtois hasn't proven himself by winning anything........He plays for Atletico Madrid for goodness sake. Put him in the Barca/PSG/Bayern goal and I can be fairly certain he would have won something.
  9. Not sure if I'm alone on this, but I always though Ozil was a tad overrated. No doubt he was/is a brilliant player, but I never saw him and felt that he was THAT good.
  10. Exactly. Cech is a great keeper, and an even nicer guy off the pitch as well...But to give up someone who people fully expect to be the worlds most dominant keeper for the next 10/15 years, for the sake of 3/4 more solid years out of Cech just seems like terrible business. To have the attitude of 'if it ain't broke, why fix it', is worryingly short sighted.
  11. Credit to him Gary Cahill is still (as always) giving it his all.
  12. On the plus side, at least we'll have more time to prepare for league games now. It could be worse, we could be Manutd fans.
  13. West Ham was only 2/3 games ago. Being due one poor game every three isn't really our objective.
  14. Would be good to see Salah get a run out now
  15. You watched one of his least impressive games of the season, which is unfortunate. One where he was being kicked and fouled throughout with a couple of sure red cards for the Real defenders not given. Had you been watching on Sunday against Sociedad you would have seen him score one and set up another. Sure, he has a fiery character, the lad wants to win. It would be nice to have some more of that passion in a Chelsea shirt.
  16. I am just fine with this. I've watched most Atletico games this season on sky and Costa looks an absolutely class striker, albeit he has cooled off a little after their winter break.
  17. Well at least they're right about something.
  18. I know it's only a matter of time, but your post gave me such a horrible sinking feeling as it all felt a bit too real (until I saw the video)...An unrealistic part of me still hopes PSG or Bayern turn up and pull a 'Willian' on manure. I can't bear to think of him playing for them. The thought of tomorrow when I turn on sky I will see "Live footage of Juan arriving at Man United's Training Ground" scroll across the screen.....absolutely sickening. I envy you people who are so cool and accepting of this sale, because I feel like s**t right now.
  19. Hey Huttsey, As someone who has watched quite a few Atletico games this season, the prospect of signing Diego Costa makes me feel less sorry for myself about losing Mata. He may not have been on fire tonight, but I think he could be just what we need. He's big, strong, clinical (had the best conversion rate in Europe upto the xmas break), and you can see how passionate he is when he's on the pitch. He's not Drogba, but he's not hugely dissimmilar + only 25 years old. I've probably put him on a bit of a pedastal, but I really think he'd be a phenomenal signing.
