Abramovich goes AWOL
Oh thats alright then I read the "report" By Andy Hunter and apparently "after it emerged" and "Sources have indicated " and "those who know Abramovich well " and "though Mourinho did not mention Shevchenko by name " and "the inference was clear ". Not a direct quote from a named person ANYWHERE! Also, the fact that "There is nothing happening that would suggest he is not going to be in charge," he said. "We respect the job he has done. We gave him a contract through to 2010. We have made it quite clear we wanted him to be the manager to achieve our long-term goals. We talked this week and he left my office knowing he is committed to Chelsea and we are committed to him. " seems to be ignored by the general thrust of this and all the other stories Finally, I then followed the link on the same page to the Belfast Telegraph's match report By Andy Hunter, where I was stunned and amazed to see that "although Abramovich was not present to witness this copper-bottomed argument due to business commitments in Russia" How does that fit into the snide rant in the same Kev

Mourinho's Untouchables
Generally a very good call Nibs. The only changes I'd make would be to move Mikel and Paulo into the "Must Stay" pile and move Sweep and geremi into the "Backups" pile BJD is right, you can't judge Paulo harshly based on what he's been asked to do this season, and I agree with whoever said that he's still the best right back at the club, and one of the best in the league. Geremi is a very steady fill-in for a lot of positions, and doesn't really look that far out of his depth. I admit he's had a few "average" games over the Christmas and New Year, but he's also had some cracking games. Keep the Faith and KTBFFH Kev

Arsenal v Manchester United
No need to sulk were still 6pts clear I think what you meant to say was "Oh sh*t, after all the crap performances by Chelsea we are ONLY 6 points clear! WTF are we going to do when they get a full squad back and start playing like CHAMPIONS again?" Am I right or am I right? Kev

The most disappointing Chelsea XI of all time...
In disappointment terms, not generally, I spent most of the drive up to the Bridge for the very first game I ever took my wife to extolling the wonderful virtues of Eddie Newton. He had a MARE of a game and at one point nearly hit me in the East Upper with an attempted pass Kev

Good songs by bands you hate...
That was the year that was - except I have to substitute Chippenham fair for Mitcham. Saw Hawkwind at one of the very early Stonehenge festivals, before they became banned, and saw GG and the Glitter Band in Melksham town hall just about the time Rock'n'Roll became a huge hit. First half was the Glitter band and they were ROCKING. Second half started with GG and R'n'R and that was OK and it all went down hill from there. Halfway through the second half the crew I was with started throwing stuff at the stage, something hit one of the local hard boys and it all kicked off. Oh how we laughed! The band gave up and the town hall got a bit damaged, and we STILL had to make our way back to the cars. Got a bit hairy, and we had a visit from the Melksham boys the folllowing Saturday night. They didn't stay long and they never came back again. Though, to be fair, it was a long time till I went back over there again too. Kev

Wigan at home..
Also, did anyone else think that our ref today was making decisions more based on media-reputations than on what had actually happened? I thought the DD and AR didn't get quite a few decisions, even though in each case the Wigan muppet appeared to either remove our lads' shorts or just do a straight body-check, a la ice-hockey

I am gutted - fat bald pub player wins a simple header against the defence of the EPL CHAMPIONS, some third division muppet makes mugs of Essien and Hilario and we end up level with a pub team - WTF is happening?
