And bang out he is for a few months it seems. Such a silly move to come back. He almost embarrassed himself with the few performances this pre season and now he can recover from an injury and we still have the problem of a lack of a striker.

Glad to see Ramires finally doing something useful on the pitch since that goal in the Camp Nou. The second half was clearly better. Need to play the same players against RSociedad.

The pre season argument starts to become dubious as well. There is no point in the playing pre season at all if all we do is play our C-Team and lose half of our games without creating anything. Isn't this supposed to prepare our team for the real season? Where are our main players? I've had enough of Torres and the kids.

A hunch is telling me that Mourinho is playing Torres so much in pre season to show everyone including Abramovich why he will NOT use Torres when the real season starts. This can be the only explanation.

Is anyone else amazed by how much pace and ball control Costa appears to have? I expected much less of that to be honest, but I will be glad for him to prove me wrong! Edit: But maybe it's just me being overenthusiastic since our strikers didtn't the bar very high last season.

I believe it took Torres around 15-20 games to score two goals for us after he arrived from Liverpool so here's hope that we finally got our hitman :P

In fact, this is very much a possibility. I doubt we will start with two strikers regularly, but if we will need to change the system promptly during a game than Schürrle can play as a supporting striker indeed. Actually he fits in anywhere, he's like a cat. I really like him for his flexibility and the energy he adds anywhere up front. A very good player to have.

Actually he made a few very impressive saves against us in the CL semi final, which were just as important. Not that I'm happy about it.

You're right of course, those videos can be misleading. But at least they show us that Courtois' best saves were a bit better than Cech's. That's if they included all the good ones of course.

Moreover, everyone who watched our games last season will know that his impact on our game is just as big as Ronaldo's and Bale's impact was when they were his age - if not even bigger. He was almost always somehow involved in any good situation that we created last season, be it through a clever flick, a swift turn, a darting run or simply by drawing opposition players at him and creating space. The presence of Costa and Fabregas will do him good, and hopefully next season his stats will reflect just how amazing he is.

Salad, that's funny! To be fair, he isn't any worse than Ramires, who proved to be useful at times, so we might as well keep him as our 6th choice attacking mid.

To be fair, when it comes to Hazard Youtube is a good source. Some players are overhyped because there is literally one footage which shows all the good moments they ever created. But when it comes to Hazard, he literally creates 20 minutes worth of highlights every year that get an awful lot of views.

Courtois Dave, Cahill, Terry, Luis Matic Fabregas Schuerrle, Hazard, Willian Costa The three behind Costa aren't really meant to be static. They can interchange as they see fit. I thought Oscar was really poor during the run in (in fact he's been average since like December) of the last season and barring the game against Croatia he had a bad World Cup. Relying on him as our main playmaker from the start just wouldn't make sense.

Considering that Torres blew about 30 potential assists by Hazard, his stats are very impressive. With a more efficient striker and a handful of goals more he'll be player of the year this time for sure.

Slept a night over it, don't give a toss anymore. That's the good thing about pre season

Pre-season doesn't mean they can play like someone dragged them out of their beds in the middle of the night to make them play. This was completely unacceptable. So far, Bremen was the only team that can be seen as a good benchmark for the games that count. We lacked desire, there was no intensity and there were a couple of players on the pitch who clearly don't belong there. I hope for the best, but Drogba isn't doing himself a favour coming back to play like Torres. I'd say it's time to send the kids back to school and work on a proper team, José.

Kind of happy I didn't buy tickets for the Sociedad game. Feel a bit sorry for those who travelled to Bremen to watch this. It's embarrassing. Even in a pre season game, when you're 2-0 down you've got to show you capable of turning the game around. Bremen are a good benchmark for what Burnley will be like. Did we even have a shot on goal?

Wow, this is utterly awful. This is the first match I watch this season, and quite frankly, I am very disappointed.

I like the pragmatic approach.
