Only if he comes back in the coaching capacity.

We need to move on from him as a player. We've never replaced him but that doesn't mean we should get him back and stick him up front. If he's here to tutor Lukaku then I'm all for it. Otherwise, avoid.

Not as a player.

He's too old now and I don't want his legacy damaged.

We need to Move on

Love to see him back as a coach signed on as a player just incase we have a major injury crisis with our 3 main strikers.

Can't waste a squad place on a foreign player you don't envisage playing unless we have an extremely severe injury crisis.

If ever we need a 4th choice striker I would hope we use a youth team player.

Yer I wasn't sure of the rules on it. Could we not just sign him as a coach and if we have an injury crisis we can sign him as a player on a free agent?

Drogba is a legend, a legend who's name will live on. I don't think he'll contribute anything if we sign him, unless he'll take on an ambassadorial role for us.

Not really. Not any more. We are already witnessing the ending of Lampard's career, which is hard to take considering how amazing he's been for us over the last decade. Let's not spoil the last memory we have of Drogba by having him back and seeing him not up to the pace any more.

Please no, firstly we need three great strikers, having him may stop us from going for a third one. Secondly I've not forgotten that we finished 6th in the same season we won the champions league, he was far from great week in week out, he did step up massively for the big games but generally he was poor, lets not forget we were brilliant in the big games is season anyway. Thirdly he left with his last kick winning us the champions league, it will never get better than that and coming back to play will only end badly.

Would welcome him back in a coaching capacity, he would have plenty to offer. Please not as a player though. He wouldn't be good enough anymore, even as a third-choice, and if all our 3 strikers had injuries, someone in the youth team would be my choice.

Not to mention the legendary way he left the club as a player. Let's leave it at that.

Does he have any coaching credentials? A great player doth not necessarily maketh a great coach..... (scriptures of Jose 3:16)

Probably still good to have him around the place though...

I don't think it will happen but it would be good if Drogba returned as a player coach. He could be our third striker only to be used if one of the other 2 striker's, whoever they may be, were to get injured.

Best get Drogba on the staff some how. Don't undervalue the contributions he could make as an ambassador for the club let alone a coaching role.  If Chelsea and Real Madrid are targeting the same youth and Real have Zidane whispering in the kids ear I cant think of a person I'd rather have try to charm the kid for Chelsea than Drogba.  His global profile is immense, more so in Africa and you can tell Drogba possesses intelligence on top of his charisma.  I don't think he would be dead weight on the staff at all, more so I feel CFC should go out of their way to find him a role if there isn't a good fit position already available when Drogba retires.
