DawesRoad got a reaction from A.D.S. in Cesc FabregasAs I said I believe Fabregas is more of a complete midfielder after his experience at Arsenal and Barcelona. I must say I was ridiculed here for saying Cesc was better now than he was at Arsenal. It comes from watching La Liga closely on Sky. My same assumption came from watching Costa week in and week out in Spain. The trouble is Chelsea fans and other fans seem to look at big events like the World Cup and periods when players are clearly not conditioned to perform like friendlies and times when coming back or carrying an injury and make their mind up they know more than the likes of Jose Mourinho. There are going to be a lot of people on here waxing lyrical about Courtois, Fabregas and Costa as the season progresses who might do better to do more research before they spout out posts which in turn makes them wince when they look back. As posters on this forum they will lack credibility as time goes on. As I said from the outset the only player I would question is Luis I strongly believe he will take time to adapt to Premiership football.

DawesRoad got a reaction from Scott Harris in Zouma - If Kurt's Happy, I'm Happy!A year with John Terry is like 3 years on loan getting experience. I say keep him in the first team squad. Ok he is rash at times but it is his positional sense that is the real problem. Remember a certain Gary Cahill had the same problem until John helped him. My hope is that both Terry and Drogbs will be on the coaching set up in a few years and Lampard too when his playing days are over.

DawesRoad reacted to Lofty. in Vintage Blues pictures and filmFat Sam's finest moment, and the only time I ever left a match early. In fairness to myself, it wasn't my idea, but those couple of girls we were supposed to meet never turned up, which just goes to prove that Karma realluy is a bitch:
14 Oct 1978: Chelsea 4 Bolton Wanderers 3. Sam Allardyce of Bolton has just scored Chelsea's last minute winner with an own goal in a remarkable 4-3 comeback

DawesRoad got a reaction from Beerqueen in Torres - The "Groundhog Day" ThreadTorres owes us loyal fans two things before he goes the winning goal against PSG and the one that finishes off the dippers title chances when we go to Anfield.

I know I am being speculative at best here, but let's imagine for a second that Willian is better suited to the number 10 role than Oscar is. Now, let's assume that Oscar is capable of playing deeper in the pivot and could play alongside Matic. The midfielder to play alongside Matic is something that we've been crying out for, but what if we had that very player in out own ranks?
I know it's unlikely, but it'd be amazing if we could swing this and avoid paying over the odds for another CM this summer

DawesRoad got a reaction from Davey Baby in Torres - The "Groundhog Day" ThreadAlan Shearer in the Sun today absolutely slaughtering Torres and defending Jose's actions at Villa.
He believes Torres has lost a yard and a half of pace and his composure in front of goal and is finished.

DawesRoad got a reaction from erskblue in Vintage Blues pictures and filmHave to say our away following to the likes of Derby, Leicester, Notts County, Brighton and Cambridge in the 80's were better than anyone. The battles at Birmingham in the 70's and the great turnouts in Manchester. Happy days on the road, feared and respected and hated by the press and plod.
