Yes I always wondered what our obsession with small squads was about.
The 2012/13, Oscar played almost 65 matches because we didn’t have too many midfielders. I wonder if that hindered his development. I’m not sure if the coach of the backroom staff prefer smaller squads but we always seem to be lacking in terms of squad rotation.

Matic was never any good in the air despite his height.

Got his chance tonight, and he took it. He was excellent, especially in the second half. There was some great link up play with Hazard and a few of his crosses were fantastic and deserved to be scored from. You could see his confidence growing as the game went on.
He deserves to keep his spot in the team after that.

If a Chelsea fan isn't concerned by this performance, then they can't be watching. We look absolutely devoid of ideas. I don't see any way we can get back into the game, Arsenal are out playing us all over the pitch.

I know these threads get slagged for the amount of moaning and negativity that gets put on here but honestly, this is an embarrassing performance.  

We've become Wenger's Arsenal. 

Sad to say this game would have suited Morata. 

Arsenal are first to every ball.
They are harder in the tackle.
They are working harder in both directions.

We cannot string 3 passes together.
We have no movement.
Half the players look uninterested.
 
It's the same every game and only getting worse. If Sarri is this genius coach, why does he persist with the same thing week after week when it is clearly not working? Why is our best attacking player, being played in a position where he has little threat to the opposition? Why do players who are underperforming start week after week? 
 
Frankly I'm getting sick of this.

We must have a f**king centre forward somewhere amongst our whole set up. whoever it is play him, anyone who can't see this crap system doesn't work needs shooting.

For me Alonso should have given the ball to Hazard who should have then continued his run to create the space/make himself available to receive the pass, but he didn't for whatever reason. Alonso looked at fault for me, his delayed reaction gave Son time to close down Hazard.
As to why Hazard was hugging the touchline, I think he was just trying to create something - he wasn't getting a lot of joy at false 9 tbf
Hopefully Emerson starts this weekend.

I'm just so tired of us getting the ball with the opportunity to break quickly and just jogging around, waiting for the opposition to get back. You watch teams like Liverpool and they play quickly, they are always moving for the ball, we are just stationary.

I seen enough of this false 9 bollocks under Conte, it was sh*t then and it's sh*t now. It's so easy to defend against, especially in the Premier League.
