Chelsea v Spuds (LC) Thur 24th Jan 19:45 UK

Featured Replies

Perhaps we will show the same urgency that Arsenal showed against us.

The spirit we had against Man City if applied here should see us through and lay down a marker for the league game.

Come on Chelsea!

Re the spirit against Man City, if they had Kane and Son I would agree, not so sure now.

We do have a good chance despite having to recover a goal as Spurs only have two days to prepare.

We are definitely well overdue a good dose of luck.

Well.. We played really well against them last time and that bull sh*t goal should never have stood, but I would love to see us try something different and go on to win the game.

Maybe Higuain can give this side a confidence boost.

If we dont revert back to direct football and play players at their positions (hazard on the LW, Kanté as number 6) and despite the good performance we put in the first leg playing possession, we dont stand a chance. The only hope is reverting to good ol direct football as we know and thrive with it ! Otherwise, uncertainty remains : either we put on a good/great show regardless of the result (like the first leg for instance or the good performances vs sihtty or dippers) or we do another sihtshow like yesterday and fcuk off from the LC.

Can only hope the players show up or they will get booed off the park if they show no effort.....and that just might be the straw that breaks the camel's back as far as Sarri's future with this club goes.

The game is on Thursday right? That means they still have 4 days to prepare.

Bizarre must a be a senior moment between Tuesday and Thursday, that now negates any advantage for me.

Can we honestly see us scoring at least two goals?  I can't, even with a depleted Spurs team, they will be to quick and hungrey for our lot. Also we will concede so may need three!!!

Don't think we could ask for more luck than facing a Sp*rs side with no Kane, Ali and Son.

We need to win this and win in style. IF he picks that same line up with Hazard as false 9 and no CHO, then I really will start to wonder if he's actually got a clue.

Even if Spuds have players missing we will still need to show more intensity. We look so pedestrian at times and impotent in the final third. Having good players is one thing being a good team is another. We need the spirit of JT etc. to emerge within this team otherwise we will pass our way to an exit. Perhaps set a new record - most passes made by a team knocked out in semi final of League Cup.

Not as much luck as they had last game when we played them with not one striker up front.

IMO if we’re going to have a good season, then we’ll need a convincing win. A 3 - 0.

It will be interesting to see how the players react after Sarri’s comments. If they don’t turn up again, I’m afraid we’ll know how the rest of season will pan out.

i think we can all guess what the line up will be, i just pray he plays giroud from the off and frees hazard up

How the mighty have fallen, in the past 15 years we would of been praying, jimmy, drogs, eto, or Costa were playing, now we are praying an ex Arsenal squad player is our saviour, what a f**king shambles!!!!!

Yeah it's uncomfortable, but were fourth and Spuds third and arse behind us, not bad considering weve been sh*te and spuds keep scoring injury time winners.
