  1. I think there's two options depending on Conte's midfield choices: I also don't even know if Luiz or Bakayoko will be ready. Alonso was rested yesterday so I'm sure he'll start. 3-4-3: Courtois Azpi - Christensen - Cahill Zappacosta - Kante - Cesc - Alonso Willian - Morata - Hazard 3-5-2 Courtois Azpi - Christensen - Cahill Zappacosta - Kante - Cesc - Drinkwater - Alonso Morata - Hazard Maybe Conte will feel comfortable going a 3-4-3 with Kante and Drinkwater in the middle as opposed to Cesc. I guess we'll see...very excited.
  2. Dreadful defending in the opening 30 minutes - everything after was solid. Moses looked exceptional tonight, looked very threatening on the right win. Alonso looked good on his debut in my opinion, Azpi looked much better on the right. What a goal! Matic...meh. Fabregas amazing. Chalobah was great, needs to play more. Costa always threatening. Batshuayi worked hard but just couldn't find any end product. Loftus-Cheek, feel sorry for the guy. Played out of position but tried. Begovic...meh. Pedro meh. All in all, great comeback, great win and great momentum heading into the Arsenal match.
  3. Awesome line-up. Alonso on the left, Azpi back on his native right. Loftus-Cheek getting starting playing time. Same for Batshuayi. I hope Chalobah and Aina get to see the pitch today as well. Great stuff. Lets go Blues!
  4. I think this would be the perfect time for Conte to experiment with his 3-4-3. He said he doesn't think a 3-5-2 will work with this current Chelsea. But whatever the formation, I just want to see Aina, Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek get their chance. Begovic Cahill - Luiz - Alonso Aina - Chalobah - Loftus Cheek - Azpi Moses - Batshuayi - Pedro I doubt that will all happen, probably too many changes but it gives more than half the squad some rest. But something like that. Or the 4-1-4-1 will be used again but hopefully some youth get a chance as well. A win here would be a much needed boost.
  5. Lol @ anyone trying to criticize Conte for Plan A, B, C, D, .... Chelsea are 3-1-1. Give him a break, that's his first 5 matches ever in the PL with a squad that's coming off a 10th place finish last season and he's still above United & Liverpool at the moment. Give him a chance.
  6. Slept on this loss and it still sucks but lets hope for the best and hope that the boys learn from their mistakes, errors and failures. There's still 33 games left to play, anything can happen still.
  7. Sucks to lose at the Bridge, but hey it happens. Chelsea are still 3-1-1 so far this season and it's all about progress and improvement at this point. Chelsea finished 10th last year, that's not easy to swallow. Conte needs to get these guys confident, clicking, and executing and a Champions League spot should be priority for this team and build from there. I think Conte should maybe start considering utilizing that 3-4-3 he talked about earlier. Chelsea need help in the back. Defence wins championships. Thoughts on: Courtois Azpi/Ivan - Luiz - Cahill Willian - Kante - Matic - Alonso Oscar - Costa - Hazard That's a super defensive line-up I know, maybe throw on Fabregas when needing to open defences, but it should help with the goal leakage.
  8. Luiz in, Terry out. Aina makes the bench!
  9. Haha, that's awesome. I've been seeing some pretty salty Liverpool fans online...probably pissed because Chelsea has replaced them in the last decade or so. 3 points!
  10. Seems like Conte will use a 4-1-4-1, with Luiz in place of Terry, other than that it's unchanged. Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Azpi; Kante; Willian, Oscar, Matic, Hazard; Costa I think it's the smart move, this is a winning team and the boys are playing well. Have to beat Liverpool at the Bridge...it would be fantastic!
  11. I think he's in a bad spell right now but he'll get over it. We have to remember that he's only 24. The talent is there, we all know it. Goalkeepers usually fully blossom in their late 20's. Let's be honest, yes Courtois caused the penalty kick but he was forced too as well. He had no help back there. It's not completely his fault.
  12. Damn Tammy. 8 of his last shots = 7 goals.
  13. Roman should drop whatever cash necessary for Griezmann. Stunner. But the transfer ban for AM restricts this all, no? Or just their purchases? Still, I can't see them accepting any offer if they can't properly replace him.
  14. That's being a TV manager. Oscar and Matic have been great since the start of the season, there's no reason why they shouldn't have started the match. We can't say that because Oscar & Matic started that's why Chelsea drew with Swansea and didn't win convincingly. Chelsea would have won convincingly if Courtois didn't cause the PK, and if Cahill wasn't fouled for the second goal and if Costa killed the game off in the first half with that missed sitter. Matic & Oscar caused that all? I don't think so.
  15. Definitely have to keep a closer eye on Gibson & Keane. I truly believe Chelsea need some more English representation. Hopefully a new young CB, and some breakthroughs for Aina and RLC this season. (If they even make the bench...)
  16. Thanks guys, definitely got to look at a few more. Tomori, Baker, and Musonda sound very promising as well. It was sad to see not one of Aina, RLC or Chalobah on the bench tonight...
  17. Win this one and the Swansea disaster would be a distant memory. With Terry on crutches after the match, I think Luiz will make his start for this one. I think Conte will opt for Matic over Fabregas again because Liverpool do have a strong attack and Conte likes to play safely/defensively but Fabregas will most likely come on at one point in the match. Marcos Alonso may make his debut as well and most likely Ivanocic to be sacrificed. Alonso as LB, Azpi moves to RB. Courtois; Alonso, Luiz, Cahill, Azpi; Kante; Hazard, Matic, Oscar, Willian; Diego Costa. The boys need respond well on Friday, this needs to be a win especially in London.
  18. Disappointing drop of points today but look at it this way: Last season after four matches played Chelsea were 1-1-2 with 4 points, sitting in 13th place. This season: 3-1-0, 10 points, sitting in 2nd place and still undefeated. Rome wasn't built in a day, this Chelsea are improving and will only get better throughout the season. I don't know why people are bashing Conte, as if Conte told Costa, Oscar and Hazard to miss sitters and fairly easy chances. It was just one of those games, the ball didn't want to go in at times. Let these hiccups happen now, it'll only help the team later on.
  19. Pisses me off that Aina, RLC and Chalobah aren't even on the bench.
  20. So as a fan who just recently started following Chelsea more closely is it safe to say that Chelsea's top 5 youth at the moment are: Ola Aina, Christensen, Reuben Loftus-Cheek, Colkett and Tammy Abraham? All of them seem extremely promising and 4 out of 5 of them are British...Chelsea could definitely use more English representation.
  21. This kid...just can't stop scoring. Surely he has to be in the Chelsea squad next season.
  22. Technically three: Marchisio, Audero and De Ceglie. But yeah this problem is found in all clubs. At least the bigger clubs of the leagues. I think loans should just be abolished. They make no sense. Keep or sell.
  23. Hey everyone. This is my first post here...I'm a die-hard Juventus fan but I've always had a soft spot for Chelsea and with Conte there I'm definitely going to be following Chelsea & the PL more this year. I'm rooting for you guys. Anyways, now that's out of the way here's my 2 cents on the transfer market: When Conte first came to Juventus, he made all of these "depth" signings. I really disliked them and it was quite frustrating and I understand why people are upset that a mega-star didn't arrive this summer but you have to realize something: 1) Conte is one of the best signings you could have made this summer, top tactical coach & motivator. 2) Chelsea are full of stars already, Conte is just reinforcing the team. 3) Conte gets the best out of all these players. Forget what Alonso did in the past - Conte will make him one of the best defenders in the PL. Kante & Batshuayi are top-notch signings. Both so young, with so much promise. Luiz brings leadership, passion and experience to this team - a brilliant deadline day signing, Alonso is the perfect utility player he can fill in many different roles in the squad. Yes Chelsea overpaid for him, but he's honestly is a good signing, with Alonso you're getting 3 players in 1. Lastly, Hopefully Conte implements some more of Chelsea's youth more - RLC seems very promising, hopefully he gets some play time this year. Anyways, for those who are upset with this mercato - don't be. Conte first objective is to get this team back to winning, he'll get this team back into the CL guaranteed and who knows maybe he'll guide this club to a Premier League championship this year, he did it with Juventus who were coming off two back-to-back 7th place finishes. Don't worry guys, this year will be great and next summer more will happen.
