Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
What about the idea that Chamberlain just doesn't want the hassle of joining a rival club in the same city? Not every player has the cohones of an Ashley Cole or Sol Campbell when it comes to such matters.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Would be an interesting signing. The guy is English so that is a major bonus, and he can certainly play. Interestingly he also is the son of an absolute class act from the past. Mark Chamberlain was one of those players you just couldn't take your eyes off when he was in his pomp. Very very quick, great skills and best of all, totally unselfish. Chelsea would have signed him in a heartbeat back then, I'm sure.

Hard to play brilliantly against a sloppy sponge with no real ambition other than trying to stop you. We aren't Brazil '70 yet but we are a team with a good balance of water carriers, warriors and the occasional genius. Love your team, love your players............all of them! KTBFFH.

When his body language starts looking like Chris Waddle's he'll presumably be totally on fire then; by the measure of his contribution to date!

Really! Only 1-0. We simply have to do better than this, it's just not up to FIFA 2017 standards at all.

Lofty's Wall of Sound - What are you listening to?
Cheeky one this, it's an entire LIVE album. Zep in 1970, several years before Plants voice had melted his vocal chords, and at a time when Jimmy's hands still knew where the chords were. It's also mixed in such a way that Bonham and Jones' work can be heard for the brilliance it is. Basically this is the oment when no other rock band on earth came even close to Zep's brilliance.

TBH, it could just be that you've read a lot of what a lot of fans on here say in many other ways on a regular basis. I hardly expect joy after we have a poor showing, but total surrender and the hanging and quartering of every paid staff member of the club is often the norm.................. And since I just noticed it, Moratta and the syntax of your entire post leading up to him. You are definitely a plastic and you definitely haven't supported anything since 1969. I'd even go so far as to say you weren't yet born in 1996! :)

There is realism based on many years of dashed expectations, and there is annoyance based on being freshly pressed plastic that floated in with the various trophies we have won over the last few years. This board is hardly a bundle of toughened realism at the best of times but I must say your opinions on several points are either those of your guide dog or a severe wind up.

Hello Blues
Oi Vey!!! Players we have missed in the past because we were broke....Di Stefano, Becjenbauer, Pele, Maradonna, Cryuff, Platini, Zico, Zidane................ All due to not ever having enough money to keep the crystal ball maintained! Oh, and WELCOME! :)

I am expecting a 2015/16 season repeat again
Probably a tad early to surrender just now and start lynching the generals. Typical us, a team of two halves, a ref (they're all biased), and a team of good pros having a cup final against last years champs. Ha, football. Thank God it isn't the only thing in life, although it is a bit hard to think that the team I love have apparently been amateurs for most of the last 47 years I've been following them. Sad!

So, we have the most possession. Arsenal 2 chance, us one. Arsenal dominate first 20 minutes we are pretty much in control in the latter half of the half. First game of the season and my aren't we just the best most loyal fans in the world! Well done mr Moses! KTBFFH

Moments of interest in the game so far! Mertesaker heading Cahill's elbow with his nose. I think we won that one.

Antonio Rudiger
He looks pretty good to me. Young, athletic, smart. tackles well, passes well, scores. Who does he replace? Well, I reckon he could even play in front of the back three. It's all a lottery in the end but he looks a good bet. A good buy!

Tough to play against a well drilled Manc double decker bus dancing team. The only times I got worried were when I took a glance at this forum for the obligatory alternate reality check. I would never have known just how badly we were doing camped in the Manc half with 70% possession otherwise..

I thought "Demote Moses to the wilderness squad." was pretty damning of the post as a sombre critique, but if the ruse held all the way to the last sentence then I'm awarding myself a Harvey Wallbanger.
