  1. No No, It's the best chance I get to post this, albeit a strange connection. Iggy (and the Stooges) was entirely inspired by MC5 who were from the same state...................... Oh sh*t, now I'm too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Victoria had towns other than Ballerat, but going home to Little River was a long way even from Melbourne.
  3. Split Enz, the Kiwi band from which came Crowded House and the many musical variations of the brothers Finn.
  4. King Crimson's musical take on Paul Bowles 1949 novel 'The Sheltering Sky'
  5. One of the finest acoustic guitar players to ever grace these isles......
  6. The one and only Sister Rosetta Tharpe...........
  7. Wellington NZ civil service, in a data processing department working with the 'beast' IBM 360/195 mainframe computer. I left within 2 months for Australia where real money could be earned and finally rocked up in the UK in Dec 1977. And here's an example of why I came :)...........
  8. Probably the best thing that ever came out of Cleveland. Avant-Garage band, Pere Ubu. (this track/album is not even remotely a good example of their best but it did fit the brief) PS. Moi, I left a very good job and came back to England in the 70's just because I had seen a small news clip about a band called the Sex Pistols. It will give you an idea about how much I love my music, lol.
  9. Brilliant band .R.I.P John McGeoch the 'Punk Hendrix'
  10. The perfect tonic for a jaded musical pallet.
  11. A fine old British institution, Public Image Ltd.
  12. Cleveland's finest purveyors of Avant-Garage for the last 40 years. Pere Ubu.
  13. Ok, so a man on the moon is gonna be pretty elevated. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Now I can showcase one of the truly great groups of the mid 70's from the fabulous CBGB's, home of NY punk et al.. It's from the album Marque Moon so another connection right there. :)
  14. Ah. I figured dogs chase cars more than most life forms on the planet, which is kind of annoying hence' Who let the dogs out?!' :)
  15. He he. This is fun.
  16. Not sure if the Group's name or the song title is supposed to connect, but this is the CARS, fab group from the 70's and 80's.
  17. Love this. Loved Nusrat's voice. Can't listen to qawwli music by anyone else, it's just not as good. RIP.
