I don't see the point in playing Kante next to Drinkwater, I mean it's not like those two won a league together.

If you were benched to a player like Bakayoko it's bound to be frustrating... Who can blame him? The guy never got given his chance but he played well considering the games he played in, Conte strangely trusted him to play in all the big games but wouldn't play him in any other games.

If Conte was struggling with an obvious player rebellion, I think it's fair to say a majority of the forum would be here supporting him. But given Conte's attitude and the rumours sufficing, (what Vialli said was VERY worrying, why would Vialli say that?) then it's not going to be the case. At the beginning I respected how he went public with the board, I think there is definitely something going on at this club where the board aren't doing a good enough job of satisfying the manager or supporting him. But now it's excuse after excuse, he's not to blame for anything, it's what the board wanted etc... Well, it seems to be what Mr Conte wanted also, why don't you just take some responsibility for how the season has gone and explain that you need more time with the players. I don't think I've ever heard of a manager complain so much who's had over 200 million to spend about transfers. I'm in the middle here but I lean more to Conte, a big part of me wants him to stay but I get pessimistic whenever I hear him talk about the board and belittling his own players. The rumours don't help also, It's almost as if he's lying to the media when he says he wants to stay, other people are saying different behind the scenes. Who do I believe?

I actually think Morata has good linkup & holdup play and I didn't see too much of an issue in the West Ham game besides a few instances but he's getting back on form at least, I thought Hazard was more careless with the ball. With Batman that's just not the case, he is abysmal with his back to goal sadly. But I do think he can improve, it's pointless selling him because the next manager we get might actually find a use for him. Like I said before, you know if he was in Liverpool Klopp would have him bagging 30 goals a season.

Pretty easily actually, the guy is a Grade A c**t. And if any City player did that to United they would want him beheaded. It's amazing how much they resemble Liverpool fans since Ferguson left.

That's me right now Enigma, I'm very very confident that we aren't winning anything with Conte still here, at least for this season. I think with the right backing and players he could turn it around next season. But is it worth it? Is it worth the risk? Is that what he wants? We saw what happened when City gave Pelligrini another year and more players. I really don't know where I stand on this Conte in and Conte out situation, with Mourinho and Carlo it was obvious where I stood.

Which part about that are you having difficulty understanding? I think it's quite clear, expectations have changed over the years, take into account money spent and what we've already achieved we should be doing better. You're not an ungrateful fan for recognising that.

But that's not mutually exclusive, you can be rational and have high expectations for the team. I actually think that's a rational thing to do. I don't think we've matched expectations, not even close for the money we've spent. So for that reason, I think we've horribly underachieved but it's not something I'll cry about either we can come back with or without Conte. I just wouldn't nail things down by saying "We used to finish outside of the top 4 for years under Abramovich". Those just aren't the times anymore and we're putting a lot more into the club than we are getting out, that right there justifies criticism from the fans. So I agree and disagree but normalising our current scenario because of the past isn't logical, so to argue rationality I would say look at that perspective.

I just think bringing up the past is irrelevant, it doesn't fit in today's climate. We've won a lot of things and we have to continue to do so, of course there is going to be an entitlement. At this point I would hate to see a lot of our fans turn into the Arsene Wenger in-crowd at Arsenal who accept mediocrity. If he's putting in good performances I would accept that, but that's not the case, so glad he isn't our player when I see him like that. All winners have a big sense of entitlement, the days we start being grateful for finishing outside the top 4 are the days when we accept this clubs decline. I have no doubts in my mind that we are selfish and entitled, but that's just how it is, you can't just accept mediocrity and in our case the Europa League is mediocrity, we should be finishing top 4 at the very least with the money we have spent.
