  1. That's fair enough, people overrate English youngsters all the time so I can definitely relate to you there. Szczesny wasn't playing at that age but he was a young keeper and looked promising, sometimes they reach their potential sometimes they don't. It's not wise to write off keepers at a young age, for me Courtois isn't that good and I thought he would be better.
  2. You don't rate Pulisic? I think he's quality.
  3. And am I right to assume @Argo written him off at the claims we could be replacing him with Cech?
  4. Not even a draw will suffice if we want to get top 4, 3 points is a must.
  5. A goalkeepers career is much longer, how many good keepers do you get at the age of 19? David De Gea was one and look at him now. Walcott was always one dimensional even as a youngster, he had a crazy amount of pace and played for Arsenal, that was it. I see nothing one dimensional about Donnaruma.

"basic economics" Right, so why would they think they can get a profit or even better double their fee if he's a sh*t player? Nothing is adding up here. You're dismissing @Caballero's stats about his goals/minutes ratio but you posted a stat about him going 29 games without a goal, is that not hypocritical? I used Christensen as an example because I doubt you've watched Morata before he came to Chelsea you're just listening to what other fans have said. Which I also do because it's good to get an insight but I don't let that cloud my judgement from what I've already seen of him. Maybe I am wrong and Morata becomes this massive flop, he certainly hasn't been great by any means but to say he's been "sh*te" this season isn't true either, maybe judging from the price tag, but I would say 10 goals in 24 league games for his first season isn't terrible. But I don't highly rate Morata's goal scoring, I like his link-up play, and I thought he showed great signs linking up with Hazard/Willian earlier in the season, especially with his back to goal and how he switched the play quickly. He did that against United 3 times in the first half and got an attack going swiftly. But he's taken a holiday this year and it's unacceptable so I can understand why fans are unhappy with him, but I just don't agree with the assertion that we signed a player who was never good and never looked to have potential.
  7. I'm fine with him staying quite honestly, I can understand people wanting him to get rid, but I think Conte is playing him in the wrong places. Fabregas is excellent when we are on the front foot and need to break teams down, he's still our most creative player. He needs to play further up the pitch, when he plays further down the pitch he's a defensive liability, Conte needs to stop playing him in midfield.

His goals to minutes ratio say different. Demba Ba actually had really good goals to minutes ratio at Chelsea but his goals to games looked piss poor because Jose kept bringing him on in the 90th minute on every game. For me, your feedback on players appears to be listening from other fans talk. Like how you said Christensen is a ball playing defender because Monchengladbach fans said he's good with his feet. When you can quite clearly see that Christensen was more of a limited defender, and that's much more the case now. If you watched Morata in the Champions League games for Juve when they reached the final you would know he had talent, good work rate, good holdup play, all at a very young age, that's why he played for the national team a lot. Don't get me wrong Morata has always been a backup striker, but he's also played behind forwards because he's a better all-round footballer, would Madrid have brought him back if he was a sh*t striker? The thing is you can't use stats like 29 games then dismiss other people posting stats because it doesn't suit your narrative. Yeah, he had a lot of Juventus games but most of the games he came off the bench in late minutes, it's not the full context. https://www.whoscored.com/Players/91213/History/Álvaro-Morata

What do you mean live in the now? Is football always supposed to be the same? Did you say the same about Willian when he was playing garbage more than a month ago. That's why I said if we can get him back on form we might have a better chance of qualifying, whereas with Giroud I don't think even the best of Giroud can get us firing into the top 4. Giroud although has been trying more than Morata has of late, he's done nothing worth mentioning since arriving, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt given the current circumstances.
  10. Last time I remember him making a top save was against Lacazette in the 2-2 game with Arsenal.
  11. You also can't be serious at your Donnaruma bashing, he's clearly a superb keeper at the age of 19 and can only improve.
  12. Salah going to Madrid could be perfect. Why would they risk spending over a 100 million on Hazard when Salah is right there for them.
  13. I think Del Boy said something along those lines to Rodney.

How? He was actually good for his old clubs.
  15. Yes but Bakayoko is getting more chances than he deserves, it was the opposite for Salah & KDB. He's consistently playing games when he's quite clearly underperformed and cost us many points. How can you keep playing a player who's underperforming compared to giving a player a chance who you have rarely played? It's a completely different scenario you can't compare it.
  16. I've agreed with you on Hazard to a certain extent, I just don't think he's way too overhyped or overrated. My argument is that he doesn't do enough for a player of his calibre. When I watch Hazard play and see the things he's capable of I know he has that hidden potential. He can dribble past defenders with ease, he just doesn't do it enough. He can score from anywhere, he just doesn't shoot enough. He can get himself in great positions, but he'll look for the pass rather than the shot and overplay his hand until its rendered useless, it's like a lack of instincts. You had Salah skip past 3 Watford defenders and score a goal, why doesn't Hazard try that? He's capable of these very things but he really lacks that intent. I honestly believe Klopp would get a lot out of Hazard if he was at Liverpool and it hurts me to say that. I think people are understandable fickle with Willian, I criticised people slating him earlier in the season because he's a good squad player and he goes through patches. But he also took a holiday through a crucial part of the season, now he's firing again. I can't remember Scott going overboard though.

On the contrary, I don't think Giroud is good enough to send us into the top 4. Morata on form is better than Giroud in my humble opinion, if we can get our striker back to scoring ways and troubling defenders with other players playing well we can at least pressure Spurs on their 4th spot.

Still miles away from the player we need and the player he was several months ago, but still glad to see him score and even better a 1 on 1. He's not actually a bad player at taking people on with the ball in the box, but his decision making after that was dreadful against Leicester, plenty of times he should've passed instead of shooting from silly angles. I still think Morata in from trumps Giroud inform any day, and we would be wise to try and get him back to his earlier self if we want to salvage anything from this horrible season.
  19. People have very short memories, like I said on the Morata thread, too many fickle people. Willian was absolutely slandered to bits more than a month ago and now many see him as player of the year. I do actually criticise Hazard a lot, but I've been criticising him all season, not just now. I don't think he's done enough, but that doesn't mean I want him sold, that doesn't mean I don't think he's our best player in the team.
  20. So glad you're here to set it straight, can't believe what I'm seeing lately. Don't get me wrong David Silva is in my opinion world class but to say Hazard isn't in the same league is ridiculous. So far Hazard has won just as many league titles as David Silva has and Silva has been in the league a lot longer. Silva was actually rather poor after 2012, only now he's recovering his old form.
  21. I actually like Caballero, he had hands on the goal for Vardy it was just too powerful. I really wouldn't mind the idea of him playing more games, might make Courtois think twice? For me Courtois thinks he's a lot better than he is and that isn't always a good thing.
  22. That's wishful thinking but it's all we can do really. I don't think he'll ever come good but I'm willing to give it another season even if it's a new manager (which will probably be better for him) because playing him every game is just not working. The last thing I want to do next season is bank on Bakayoko becoming good, we can still give him his chance but he has to work for it and prove it first, that's his only door he'll get. Otherwise, we'll end up with another disappointing season, and the same could be said with Morata.
  23. Then what does he suit exactly? We shouldn't need to play to his strengths, he's there to fill a big void that we have next to Kante. Right now it's Kante on his own, Baka can't play in a 3 man midfield now he can't play in a two. I actually think he's better in a two-man midfield than he is a three.
  24. I hate to be right in this situation, he hasn't once shown he's capable. People bring up the United game like it was a positive, there was nothing positive about him losing the ball 6 times in a good position in a big game, winning that game doesn't take that away. He has no confidence whatsoever and I can't even see a player in there, if he could at least track back and show that he's a physical player.. But he doesn't even look like a physical player. What space is he covering? Where is he making tackles and man marking players out of the game? Awful.. I hope Conte doesn't keep persisting with him again like he did before he got sent off.
  25. Bakayoko has to put in a good performance here. Ridiculous why Drinkwater isn’t playing an important fixture like this.
