I can't help but feel deflated over this whole sorry affair. I just hope it does turn out that Man City have paid well over the odds for a pup and we've had a lucky escape, because if he turns out to be dynamite then it's going to look rather embarrassing.

Couldn't agree more. Sadly there are players that I haven't got much confidence in at the moment, namely Anelka, Malouda and Kalou. I just don't think they cut the mustard.

The sad thing is that's probably true, although I don't think Belletti did a bad job on Sunday all things considered.

My sympathy for Kenyon is very limited, we've been after Robinho for what seems like ages, so as soon as Real/Calderon started messing us around on the fee I think we should have told them where to go, sadly this would have only worked if we'd had an alternative player lined up, which doesn't seem to be the case. Also for all his faults it now seems that selling SWP was a bit of a mistake. Looks like Malouda is going to be our go to guy in times of trouble for the foreseeable future. Oh the horror.

Probably a case of a bit of both, I believe their asset portfolio is worth something in the region of £600 billion, so I imagine they're not too concerned about making immediate profit i.e. in the next 5-10 years.

Any chance that Kaka is plan B??
