One of the most interesting days in football i find, i presume everyone will be eagerly refreshing internet pages and checking Sky Sports News for the large part of the day:

Deal so far..

Spuds have signed full-back Vedran Corluka from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. And they've completed the signing of Roman Pavlyuchenko for around £14m

I'd like to see Robinho arrive at the Bridge and maybe a cut price deal for Michael Owen come through just to bolster our striking options

Breaking news on sky sport news is that CITY not utd have had a 30 mill bid accepted.

I dont mind city and cant stand Berbatov but i hope this happens just to hear red noses reaction :)

Yeah awesome news, but i wouldn't be surprised if Utd come in with a bid. Berba wants Utd not City and that's obvious.

money talks in football... new investors at City so they'll be able to meet any demands he has

This is going to get interesting.

Berbatov has yet to agree terms with city.

Maybe spurs accepted the offer for 2 reasons...

1. To get more money out of manure.

2. To impend the move to manure full stop.

Very interesting. I thought this deadline day was going to drag along with nothing much exciting happening.

Owen was a good striker while he was at Liverpool, but he's getting on a bit now and he's nowhere near as good as he was, he'd be a pointless buy IMO.

Getting on a bit! He's 28 (29 in December), a year younger than Anelka and the general consensus among pundits is that a striker reaches his peak at 29.

A fit Owen is still a class player and for what it's worth I reckon he would have scored the chance that Anelka missed against Spurs.

Owen plays her scores.. as simple as that .. it is playing time that is the problem...

I would take a punt on him if he was going cheap

and enjoying this Berbatov business and manure have let Saha go .. :D

Berbatov is never worth that much though.. :D

True, but he's hardly ever 100% fit anyway. And yet, £2 million (as it said in the mail) for Owen is a bargain.

i would love see fergies face if berbatov goes man c

what a picture it would make

Perhaps something like this...?

holy CRAP I cant believe so much has changed at Man City in the last 12 hours.

SSN now saying that SAF himself took Berbatov to the Carrington training ground from the airport. But if City have really launched a British transfer record fee then christ things really have been turned on their head. I cant WAIT to see how this turns out.

One way or another, Thaksin is gone! Must be great days for City fans!

edit: the representative for the new Abu Dhabi group was just on SSN: paraphrasing: "we want to be number one at all cost. We want to emulate the model of success at Chelsea where they didnt just try and improve, but we will try to be the absolute best, win the Premier League, wins the Champions League, etc"

now theyre saying Paulo is looking to take a medical at Upton Park. Absolutely nuts

According to SSN Man City have now lodged bids for David Villa AND Mario Gomez.

I hate it when clubs try and buy success. :D

Saw the wikipedia article on this investment group, and theyre estimated to have at least 650 billion to call upon. Possibly up to 900. But with multiple owners comes a more stable investment structure.

That information, in addition to the Gomez, Villa links makes me think this is the second coming of the Russian Revolution. I can see City with alot of surplus requirements and Hughes out of work at the end of the season

more of this I guess we can expect to see :D SSN probably just copied and pasted it from articles about us

"The Blues have already seen an offer of over £30million accepted for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov, but have made approaches for a further two attacking talents...."

In all seriousness, though, I realize they lost Bojinov cruelly, but its kinda strange theyre not putting in any bids for a world class midfielder at the last minute. I guess nobody wants to part with a real talent if they cant replace them in the next 5 hours

And i hear we've put a £26 million bid in for Sean Wright Philips :D

Berbatov to City would be just hillarious after listening to Manyooo fans on Irish radio this morning .

Manchester City have lodged bids for Valencia's David Villa and Stuttgart's Mario Gomez.

Wow, this is how it feels like being a non-Chelsea supporter 2-3 years ago. If ManCity lands 1 or 2 of those players they really have succeeded in something many have failed this summer.

Is there no one Man City wont bid for?!....

Manchester City have made a shock move for Alan McGuinness.

The Shed End Atheltic winger has been on the radar of a number of top European clubs after turning in a string of impressive performances at a recent tournament.

The Shed End's manager Mike Oliver said: "Obviously we're very disappointed to have to let Alan go but when a bigger club comes calling and the player wants to move on, there's not much you can do. In the immortal words of the Beatles, we just have to let it be, let it be."

The Shed End Atheltic squad appear reluctant to do that. The move is seen as the last straw by senior members of the dressing room who have previously questionned Oliver's tactics, choice of hats and (lack of) hair.

SEA chief executive Loz Loz's Surname was lying face down in a pool of Stella and could not be reached for comment.

Yes I am bored! :D
