Had Jose been in charge I believe last night would have been a lot closer. Said it on the match day thread, you can slug it out with a team that has more weapons then you. You have to draw them in to the kind of game they don't want to be in. Guss had no plan B. I think Guss is a pretty good manager, done a great job both times but Iv'e never rated him top top class. Coming back to the topic.. Jose. I always wonder about this "Lost the dressing room" thing. It strikes me that if some one like Jose, who has one of the most glittering CV's in world football can loose a dressing room, well what does that say about our dressing room? This isn't David Moyes we are talking about. It seems to me that the only reason he would have lost the dressing room is because he dared to hurt the delicate feelings of a bunch of spoilt brats, maybe ask them to put in a bit of an extra shift. Told them a few home truths... And in the end we all know who it ended, with a disconnect between the individual or something like that. Its long been said that it's easier to sack the manager then replace the players, that's all well and good but the problem with that is you still that bunch of soft, spineless players that fold a the first sign of adversity. That group of players is never going to win a CL, they haven't go the balls to do it, this group of players where never going to beat PSG last night, this is not a group of players that would have been able to overturn a 2-1 deficit in the nou camp with there lead striker suspended. Someone wrote yesterday that you visibly saw Cescs inner arsenal come out. Honestly I’m not sure where we go from here because both Conte and Simeoni will not be massaging any one’s feelings so I don’t see long term success with either of them and any one less just isn’t good enough.

For me our approach to this game is what sets the top top managers apart. You can't go in and go tow to two with a team that has bigger weapons, you have to suck them in to a different way of playing. Might not be pretty but who is happy with this loosing playing well thing

I think his first touch is pretty average and under pressure with little space his decision making is questionable. Do I think he will improve and become a very good player, yes actually I do but no guarantees. I guess the biggest question is how he responds when things not going his way

I love this - what league winning manger of the last 15 years has not spent significantly to win the league?? ou may have your exception at the end of the season but you don't right now. There is a reason there was a traditional "big 4" for so long... MONEY

Long been one of those that defended Oscar, I think his first season and half with us was very good. Wouldn’t have called it excellent or world class, just good when taking all in to account, new league, age, playing for the FSW etc etc. The last month a bit I have moved very much in to the happy to move him on club. He’s a good player, but he has not elevated his game to the level needed to play as a top number 10 or attacking mid. At his very best he can be unplayable; his very best happens about 3 times a season if you’re lucky. Lately I’d argue that the effort hasn’t even been there. At this point in his career I’d be expecting him to dominate games, to take them by the scruff of the neck and win the single handily, the big big players have this in them. At our very pomp we had a number of attacking players who could do it, Drogba, Lamaprd, Robben, Cole, Duff. (please keep in mind Im’ not including some one like Essien or Maca because I’m trying to compare apples to apples) On any given day at least one of these guys would step up if the rest of the team weren’t doing it and if they all clicked Brucey bonus. This season one of the biggest issues is that only Willian really stepped up, for the first half of the season he dragged us through it. In recent months Fabregas has really stepped up as has Costa, taken games by the scruff of the neck and won them for us, Hazard did it for large parts of last season, although this year I feel he is actually detrimental, thought he was awful on the weekend, but it’s Hazard and you know next season he could be back to being a monster because we have seen it already, consistently. Oscar just doesn’t do it, I was so excited when I saw him at the olymics, he looked like a player that would grow in to a dominating force, and he didn’t. He’s not the most gifted dribbler (not bad but not great), he’s doesn’t spot a pass like the top top boys, he hasn’t got the pace and power of the best number 8’s. He lacks a top level goal instinct. I’m not saying he needs to do all those things well but he needs to be doing at least one or two of them at a top top level. Fabregas as an example, doesn’t go round player like A hazard or cole, he doesn’t possess great power or pace, not the best eye for goal, but he can see and execute a killer pass almost as well as anyone in the world, he won’t do it every game but over the course of the year and half he’s had with us you would have to say he has delivered much more often then not. Despite my hopes, Oscar has turned out to be an average player, he does everything well but nothing extraordinary and unfortunately I think we need better, unless he picks it up expontially it’s time to cash in for me. At this point I’d rather see Baker come in and have a shot there, or this kid that is out at Betis

pretty much maintained my stance on this from day one and see no reason to change it. This case is purely about a woman in a man dominated field of work being treated like any one else and not being happy about it. Her actions have actually set progress made (largely only by chelsea) back years. What club is going to be keen to employ a female match day doctor if they feel that they have to tip toe around her. equality means Equality. people should be given jobs based on there ability and treated based on there work gender shouldn't come in to it
