I wish him well. Seems like a good lad. Owes us nothing.

I'm very jealous of you retiring to the sun and me still grafting away. Very jealous indeed

Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
I wouldn't be too sure. Given our recent form, lose the first friendly and it will be Shabby Please Go, Xabi All Wrong So, etc, etc

😄😊😚You'd have to put a helmet on the child as they'd be running into walls and clattering against the lone tree.

Just had an enjoyable 30 minutes trolling Leeds fans I grew up with. Thank you to the players for giving us something to smile about after a tough few weeks. I'm Chels because of the 1970 FA Cup final. I was 6 years old at the time and spent the remainder of the day in the back garden as Peter Osgood, of course. Given that I lived in Dublin the choice of club to support was between the flambouyant Southerners or the tough Northerners. As a big softie myself the choice was easy. My best pal, who is Leeds, as he was a hard man at 6, is visiting from New York and pints are scheduled for Thursday. There will be only one topic of conversation. When I get home Mrs Liam will ask about his wife, kids, job, and plans for the future, in particular retirement age - to which I will reply, none of that came up.

I wholeheartedly agree. Smokers are the most interesting company probably because we are in touch with our death instinct

Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*
You make a very good point. We just have to hope that the Leadership Group had the good sense to issue a trigger warning to the ball, in case incessant sideways and backwards passing, with very occasional blasting high into the stands, might cause unexpected emotional distress, anxiety, or flashbacks.

Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*
I badly wanted him to succeed, as that would mean the team was succeeding, and I wouldn't be in a foul mood every second weekend. The performance yesterday was poor but was confounded by Rosenior's press conference. He's cracking unfortunately. Another coach who has found himself in a job that is too big for him. The highlights were: Showing the players a league table compiled since he arrived showing that "we are third in table, we're not out of it". By the end of today we will be 6th on the actual table, the one that decides Champions League places. Informing us, with a straight face, that the huddle around the ball "is the Leadership Group wanting to show respect for the ball". I understand that the ball should feel valued, and most importantly, safe, but the Leadership Group would need to be mindful that an inexperienced ball might also need accurate, incisive guidance. His insistance that we have invented a new way to "press". Imagine that. A game which was codified 163 years ago and consists of 2 teams and one ball. One team has the ball and the other team has to try and take it from them. 163 years later along comes Liam and invents a new way achieve this. A way, which when not properly executed, leads to one the easiest goals that any team has ever scored since 1863. It looks as if the team is playing as if there are no consequences. That's down to the coaching staff.

It's the best 30 odd quid I've ever spent. I go on rival teams forums and the ads melt my head. With the ad free (which works perfectly for me - no ads of any description) the site is perfect. Thanks Mod for all you do.

On the subject of pronunciation why do English people pronounce the word "sixth" (ˈsɪksθ) as "sick" ( ˈsɪk) ?

We're holding our own against the holders on their patch. We have opened them up on numerous occasions. It's a proper contest and I'm confident we will get more chances. Looking forward to the second half.

Reminds me of an old Furry Freak Brothers strip when Phineas is harassed by the cops and realises that he is not nearly as paranoid as he thought he was.
