Look at my reply above. a commonly misdiagnosed injury. If you don't know what it is, it's probably not as "high" on the ankle as you'd think. From my experience coaching, its the probability of reinjuring this thing that is so problematic. You can do almost anything with your high ankle sprain past a certain point after the swelling etc. Casually shoot jumpers, go for a run, even hike in the mountains. Almost anything is OK, EXCEPT playing sports with intensity. High ankle sprains are usually caused by sudden movements: twists, cuts, turns while running. It almost never happens to people who are not engaged in this type of activity. So after the initial pain, swelling, etc. that is the same type of feeling as a lower ankle sprain which is why it's commonly misdiagnosed, it is still susceptible to reinjury until completely healed. A lower sprain can often be taped/braced, even early on in the healing process, but the high sprain is just extremely sensitive to reinjury until completely healed. Look CP is obviously prone to injury, and maybe he's a puzzy or faking it or something. But his last two major injuries are just historically bad injuries that are prone to reinjury more than other injuries and the best course of action is usually to rest them completely until completely healed. The oblique injury is also a killer for athletes and in ways has similar problems than a high sprain: long recovery time, hypersensitivity to reinjury, not usually treatable by physical therapy. I am not a medical person, but I have spent a life time dealing with kids' injuries and suffered a severe high sprain myself in my late 20s playing soccer. Down for about 10 weeks and I was always a quick healer. I gained about 20lbs BTW. So bottom line CP could be a puzzy, but the last two injuries if he truly had them I guess for you conspiracists out there, shouldn't surprise with the length of recovery. They need to heal completely.

Actually that is not the case. High ankle sprains are commonly misdiagnosed. https://www.foothealthfacts.org/article/sprained-ankles-can-be-complicated-and-misdiagnose

I read it was a high ankle sprain. I spent several years coaching HS American Football. A high ankle sprain is probably the worst non-catastrophic injury you can get. It takes a long time to heal, and you can't tape it and go like you can a lower sprain. You will inevitably reinjure it. The best course of action is to let it heal completely before returning.

James should be pretty suited to wingback shouldn't he?

man it is hard to argue against what TT has done so far. Champs. One loss on nil to MC without Mount. But yeah, I'm a DUMB YANK and want to see our little Puli in there so I can take a can of Busch Light out of my fanny pack and celebrate American exceptionalism.

But when you have a back 3 there is not a LW.

I totally agree that this should be a good thing for both CP and RL. What position do you think CP should be playing with the back 3? I can't really decide what I think would be best. He seems to me and most of us on here to be a LW, but LWB, I'm not sure, with his propensity to get knocked off the ball.
  8. James injury should certainly effect that formation.
  9. Wow. This team team is way better than they were last week.
  10. We had really dear Spanish friends from Barcelona that lived here for a couple years and they were very against Catalan independence. They thought it was misguided and would lead to unnecessary hardship. thanks for the info. I do understand local control though as an American. Our federalism seems to be quite a bit different than what Britain has. Historically and according to the 10th Amendment to our short little Constitution, states have quite a bit of power. That’s why here for COVID for instance, there was a wide variance for lockdown policies. In general here Republicans are for more state control and Democrats are in favor of more centralized control. For instance there was a wide variance in schools. Our kids didn’t miss a day of school this year in our district and most districts in our area. Some schools missed slot and many kids in the country didn’t go to school a single day.
  11. Is that a big deal in Britain? What would be the pros and cons? 16? Wow.
  12. So there is like a legitimate push Scottish independence? I did not know that. there are like fringy ideas here about secession but nothing serious.
  13. You’re on fire. Ride that roll man. Lotto numbers?
  14. Asking for a friend, (don’t want to get kickstomped or sucker punched in the face), but Y’all been a country 70 years fore we wrested this backwater outta your control. Thank you French warships. (Haven’t heard that in over a century prolly.) I’ve read some stuff in the net, but I’d like to see what opinions are out there from Chelsea posters. Why don’t you have a national football team? Is there any talk of it happening? In all seriousness, is there any UK national pride or is it just Scottish, Welsh, NI, and English? like in the Olympics would an Englshman root for a Scot representing Great Britain? In the wars did welsh scots and English fight in same units or were they homogenized? Help a DumbYank out. I am really interested in learning about this. It’s confusing and intriguing. I don’t get it and really don’t know what to even call your country. I think the title is the UK of GB and NI. Man that’s a mouthful. I’d say that the little Southern Indiana backwater I’m from we almost always refer to your country as England.

O Good Lord. You righteously indignant are so boring.
  16. Lots of counters, seems like Ukraine players get about a 50 yard run just carrying the ball all alone in the middle of the pitch every 5 minutes or so. Netherlands look fun.
  17. Most guys are past their prime at 120.
  18. In the Euro. Will Mount play a lot? What do you think of the chances?
  19. DumbYank replied to a post in a topic in General Chelsea FC
He wasn’t good in the 1st half. He was pretty good in the 2nd.
  20. DumbYank replied to a post in a topic in General Chelsea FC
    CP starting for US.

They played at incredibly pacey rate in the first 3rd of the game or so. I saw a lot of tired players.
  22. Werner is ridiculous at this point.
  23. If Chels makes the CL, I think they will have lots of options for transfers. I would think a striker would be salivating over the chances Werner has had. We need a forward player who can score a header and hold up. We need Giroud 10 years ago. Who is out there like that?
  24. Here here. Outsider, new to Euro Club rooting interest, but is seems y’all have lopped the balls off of what should be your Super Bowl.

It's good to be able to shift seamlessly into different formations, and Chels certainly has different personnel to do it.
