  1. Shouldn't we allow Alonso to keep the players he wants, rather than telling him who to get rid of? And if we constantly complain about needing experience, it seems counterintuitive to get rid of two of our current " older heads ", Cucurella and Enzo.
  2. Thank you for this. With the Glazers at utd, I do worry that BlueCo will do something similar to us. This gives me some reassurance.
  3. We are bad, truly bad. It nearly feels like there's an impossible job ahead for Alonso. So many bang average players who when confronted with a choice seem to pick the wrong one 99/100.
  4. Did I not see that BlueCo have taken loans out for £500m and £800m against the Chelsea FC name, with one loan due to be paid back in the next couple of years, and the other by 2033? These loans are also accruing interest to add to the repayments. Was on " the rest is football " special when Rosenior was sacked.

If Silva is our coach next season it shows our ambition....zilch. To be honest I am not expecting a big name in charge of us whilst BlueCo have this stupid project. We know that a proper manager needs a lot of control/say, the antithesis of BlueCo. With SD's who have shown nothing but incompetency, what top class manager would say yes. The Henry Winter podcast is always a good listen. The days of a new manager coming into the club and that feeling of onwards and upwards are for me, in the rear view mirror. If the owners ambition is the top 5, anyone taking the job will reflect the ambition of the club. Like our playing purchases, our " coach " will be tier 2 at best.

I notice quite a few premier league players choose to move to Bayern over the last few seasons, where Bayern pretty much win the title every season. The premier league may be the most watched, the best PR, not necessarily the best. I'm not exactly salivating at the thought of watching Burnley v Brentford anytime.

Just wondering why anyone would think Enrique would leave the possible Champions league winners again for a mid table Premier league team?
  8. It makes for depressing reading. Football isn't baseball. It's not just data, stats, measuring.
  9. I totally agree. Rosenior has to go, the fans have no faith in him, apparently the majority of players are not impressed by him. When you look at his staff, some are only known in their household, they don't even have bios on the Chelsea site, so anonymous that they are. The sporting directors have to go, I won't be holding my breath on that one. The cynic in me feels that they are seen as the " football brains " by the owners, they are not going to talk themselves out of well paid jobs. The whole model needs to change as you say, that comes from the top. When we don't have consistency from the owners, who don't seem to speak, never mind speak with one voice, I fear that the sacking of Rosenior will change very little at the club. When the model that the owners seemed to base their model on, Brighton, and Brighton are now above us, consistently beating us after we bought their staff, directors, coach, players, what do our owners do. Do they see the error of their ways, or double down on the model with a couple of minor tweets and carry on as normal. I'm sceptical that very much will change, the model doesn't allow for a strong manager/coach to do his job.
  10. Did you notice he couldn't do eye contact with the interviewer or camera? That says more than his words. I never wanted him or his middle management bo**ocks, now I'm beginning to feel sorry for him a tad. He is being hung out to dry by those above him who have appointed him and don't have to come out and tell us the rationale of their decision to hire someone who was never going to be able.
  11. If we don't win tonight, I guess we can kiss the title goodbye for another season. At least we gave it a good go this season. I think we can beat Bayern in the semi's. The Verve were wrong, the drugs do work.
  12. On my Liam says bingo card I've got " group", " moments", " time", " future ".
  13. As we all probably know, he is going nowhere. Not qualifying for the champions league affects our ffp, which hits the budget. Sacking Rosenior and paying his 6 year contract would have some impact on that. And hiring someone else. Until the owners realise that just because they are American and have a severe dose of American exceptionalism, that football is not American sports, is not something that you can come in and change the whole model because you feel you know best. Until that particular penny/cent drops, we are aiming for mediocrity at best.
  14. We are surely " in a moment ", to send a note on with a sub for " the group ".
  15. Summed it up perfectly. Tbh, I don't blame him. The vast majority on here are neither BlueCo or Rosenior fans, and voice our exasperation with both. If I was playing for Chelsea at the moment, and it's a short career, I'd be probably thinking I would want a move to somewhere where there's a plan, where's there's not an ongoing project that never seems to have an end. We are fans, the players are employees. We can probably all relate to being in a job that we'd like to get out of at some time in life. BlueCo have shown us nothing to show that the future is bright, to fans or employees. Unless you are a SD of course. Or an over promoted championship " coach".
  16. For me there's a couple of issues with this signing. Firstly it doesn't show ambition, he is not a statement signing. There have been few signings in the last few years that have made me feel anything but meh. Secondly, this signing suggests to me that if anyone was hoping that if things go to pot, as they have been doing under Rosenior, he ain't going anywhere this summer. I feel his influence on this. It'll be a season next season of listening to middle management twaddle speak. If I hear the word " group " one more bloody time I'll scream.
  17. If he was calling out the winning lottery numbers to make me a multi millionaire, I'd be cringing listening to him.
  18. Sadly I totally agree with you. Short career, I'd be looking for a move. There isn't a club in the two top divisions outside of us where Rosenior is seen as the solution. The SD's, they must laughing all the way to the bank each month. When you run a team on data, and believe that the manager/coach is way down the pecking order, prepare to fail.
  19. Abysmal. Just knew when Liverpool lost that we would do the same. How many of our players would get in a top 4 team? Who would hire LinkedIn Liam in the prem, or even championship. What other club in the country would want BlueCo as owners?
  20. I agree with most of what you say. I sometimes wonder if people look at his fee, he didn't choose the fee, and actually feel like it's come out of their own pocket. My tuppence worth, we are a shambles. We have owners who bought a mansion, and have turned us into a 3 bed semi. Sporting directors who are essentially laughing all the way to the bank each month they are paid. Who the f**k buys Garnacho, Gittens, Delap etc and get to have even more influence on the team/club. We are rapidly becoming the past.
  21. I'm not sure what the lingering anti Enzo is on here. I wonder if it's become a cause cèlébre at this stage, and some are seeing what they want to see with him. I personally think he has had 2 good seasons now. He scores. He runs his socks off. He is played deep or more forward, is more versatile than most players. He cares, see PSG game. He is rarely if ever injured, and doesn't seem to throw his toys out of the pram. Like all players, he has games where he has more impact than others. As for others teams in the top 10 wanting him, I beg to differ, I bet that a number of top teams here and abroad would snap him up. If Enzo is your problem with Chelsea over the last few years, I reckon you are looking in the wrong place. It's akin to shooting the messenger for the message.
  22. Our Liam's are less than average. Even Liam Gallagher would loose his swagger if he was at Stamford Bridge for any time.
  23. Sad thing is, you're bang on the money. We are back to a Ken Bates club now. In fairness he eventually had some ambition that got us Hoddle and modernisation.
  24. Probably my favourite player over the last few seasons. Goodbye Guro, you were a fantastic servant to Chelsea, and a credit to you and your family. I can sense the icy cold hand of Winstanley and Co on the women's team now, it's downhill from now on. A winning formula is being ripped up.
  25. I guess that where we really are under BlueCo is bang average. If the aim is only to make a Champions League place every season, it's pretty sh*te for the next few years.
