Tokata reacted to RMH in Chelsea v Brighton (PL) Tue 20th Apr 2021 20:00 GMTWe could blame it on the ESL stress, and we can add the intensity of our last two matches and within a week, but there’s a trend here, we don’t compete against teams lower in the table no matter what circumstances.

Everyone needs to calm down, I have just had 2 nearly sleepless nights and suffered the biggest emotional roller coaster of my life over the last 72 hrs and mist of these lads are in their early 20s and they went through a lot more than any of us can imagine give them a brake for having an off day

This is going to be another season where we make top four because someone else bottles it.

Roman has to risk being sued or step down, his job is to safeguard the club not destroy it.
Were I not living in another country I would be there protesting too.

Tokata reacted to Oli in Chelsea breakaway from breakaway European Super LeagueI hope of speak for everyone on here, but I've literally gone from waiting like an excited kid every week for our next game to having no interest in todays game. Even lowly Brighton at home who play amazing football, would of been a great test. And the feeling you get after a long hard season of being able to grind out a top 4 finish on merit. This season was promising so much, we just beat Man City, and are in the Champions League Semi final something we have been dreaming of since 2012. They have taken away any excitment, and everything those players have worked for this year in an instant. Im not bothered in the slightest about today's game. I will however watch and hope Chelsea win, because it is the Premier League, something we want to continue.
It just hurts and it seems by all the pictures coming out of secret meeting between the American Owners of other clubs a few years ago. It really stinks that us and man city have been bullied into this. We were the two teams with a monetary advantage over other teams so this actually screws us over. We also had owners who didnt treat us like a football company, but instead a football club, who bought us like an expensive toy, and did so much for the community etc, not to maximise profits. I just pray we see sense..and that c*** perez can shove his ironclad contract where the sun dont shine.

And there are protests against this in THE UNITED STATES
The team's own coaches are speaking out against it. I saw a rumor that the captains of the big 6 clubs where going to have a meeting on what they can do.
This idea has failed.
Those who invested in this new league aught to be concerned about going much further. Otherwise you will have a league and no fans to watch it.

Fifa, UEFA, the Royal Family, the UK government, the FA, the Premier league and others are all against this, come on Chelsea come to your senses. Admit you messed up and stop the bleeding.

I think maybe you miss the point. First off, the club realistically had no option but to take part in competitions run by UEFA, but could quite easily have turned down the invitation to join the Super League.
Secondly there’s the whole issue of elitism, which again is purely down to finance. I’m no fan of UEFA either. Just for example, I’d love a return to an old fashioned European Cup, along with the re-introduction of the Cup Winners Cup. But that won’t happen. As it stands, it’s feasible for any Premier League team to qualify for the Champions League, even more so for the Europa League, but the proposed (fingers crossed the f**king thing still fails to materialise) is a breakaway, not just from UEFA, but from the Premier League. None of the “lesser” clubs have got an earthly of getting in - unless they happen to be picked up by a mega rich benefactor, as may be happening with Newcastle. In which they too will then qualify for Super League membership, on purely financial grounds.
And what the hell has “facing criticism” got to do with anything? Is it supposed to be some form of consolation that the other eleven founder members are being slagged off left right and centre? Sorry but that’s utter sh*te. If popularity is what you want, then find someone else to support. We’ve never been media darlings, seldom if ever been flavour of the month.
As I wrote earlier in this thread, the very idea of a Super League is a massive step too far for me. If we’re involved, I’ll be turning my back on the club.
I won’t be watching the Qatar World Cup either.

You are entitled to your opinion and nobody is stopping fans from continuing to cheer on Chelsea. However equally other fans are entitled to what they want too. I have zero interest in watching us in an invitational tournament with no qualification, unless it is part of pre-season. So I will not be watching us in this new competition. I am pretty sure I am not alone on that front. You are right that football has been gradually going in this direction for many years. This is just a step too far for many I think.

Bayern are staying put and backing the Bundesliga/Champions League. Good for them.

Am I the only one that thinks the football played in an ESL might be absolutely dire ?
The games between the top clubs are usually pretty cagey affairs ... lacking in goals and excitement.
Leave them to it I say ...

It is laughable that some on here only seem worried about whether or not we will be kicked out of this season Champions League. I don't know whether or not that will happen but that is really a small part of the issue at this point. If we were really worried about that we should have waited to announce are intentions for next season until this season had wrapped up.
