Chelsea vs Servette (Conference League) Thursday 22nd Aug 24, 20:00 GMT
We may never score again hahaha this is certainly a football match… I guess

Enzo Fernandez - not wanted in England, the Falklands or probably Argentina now
When they finally fire maresca and hire cesc, he will finally be able to unlock the Fabregas jr. in Enzo… 😂

Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*
As someone who lives in Canada and finds it extremely costly to get to more than one game every couple years, (wife prefers tropical vacations instead of a trip to london in winter, what can I say) I really appreciate the match going fans for being the voice for those of us who can’t stand what Clearlake is doing and the awful stewardship of the club that they are mishandling. (The Gallagher chants made me seriously laugh and smile when I caught it through the commentary) like most online arguments there’s 10% of people on either extreme but 80% of Chelsea fans live somewhere in the middle, we just want entertaining football, and to know that the club is going to compete for trophies and not get relegated or points deducted out of the prem (things I never even would’ve contemplated under Roman) and I’m glad that the match going fans vocalize these things. I seriously don’t understand what an online only fan who is mad at the match going fans could possibly see on tv that makes them think anything we’re witnessing this club doing is ok. anyways, f**k these PE w**kers, f**k arsenal, f**k win Stanley and Stewart, and f**k maresca for being their puppet and having no backbone with who he actually wants in his squad.

Djordje Petrovic signs for Chelsea
Is he though? I saw at least 2 horror passes in that game that should have ended up in our net

Worried about the crowd at the bridge sept 1 against palace if we don’t win this one and then drop a clunker again at wolves. Winstanly and Stewart should be very nervous about some sort of chant featuring them and f**king off starting. its not even on the players really, and booing them won’t change anything, but my god is it gross that we’re worried about Servette… in years past we’d have sent the academy on to deal with a conference league play in

Ill see if I can answer some of that: that 200m doesn’t come off any income it’s kinda just from an accounting standpoint we start each fiscal year 200m in the red before any other signings. it’s based on both the transfer fee and then the player salary (currently we’re at 108m of amortization cost just from the transfer fees on existing players signed from 2022 onwards) and I kinda just tacked on 92m in annual salary. Which honestly might be a bit low assuming we move out a few high earners could drop a bit. (If online rumours of a 60k p/w average is true then it’s actually worse, works out to 137m payroll annually for our 44 players) Im not an accountant but I believe the amortization has to continue as it’s money that has already been spent so I think the adage “if you spent it, you count it” from NFL salary cap rules might apply? Either way, my conclusion of all of this is no academy players of any value will see more than a fattening up period with the senior team, gotta balance those books somehow. and if spending continues, well then we’re well and truly f**ked

City looked like they were still playing preseason, just working up to fitness. easiest win they’ll get all season. we had no answers to anything they did.

The more close ups we get of this home kit, the more I’m convinced it was designed by a blind person

Palmer is wasted this wide for the most part. Need him on the ball a lot more.

Maresca needs to go ballistic on Taylor at halftime. Gotta be preemptive before he f**ks us in the second half

Anthony Taylor should be nowhere near a Chelsea match… absolutely shameful by our manager, SDs, etc to not be petitioning the PGMOL to boycott games if that asshole is reffing

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
That’s what I was clunkily trying to express. That is our base “expense” for each of the next 6 seasons. Meaning just to balance that out we need to be selling 100m of pure profit on players each year

So I popped into Microsoft excel today and f**ked around a bit to figure out whether we are actually above board with finances or not. I used a lot of generalizations and assumptions but wanted to get myself a general feel for where we’re at. to me, utilizing the amortization rules (some at 7yrs most at 5) + factoring in salaries for guys we have to account for roughly 200m euro of amortization expense each year up to 2030 without buying another player. Meaning that to balance the books each year (or ensure a less than 100m loss over any 3 year period) we need to be making ~500m over every 3 years or ~167m per year. at present this year we’ve made 103m (transfermarkt) and if we can think there’s some form of sponsorship revenue in there we actually might be ok? Just thought I’d share as I was fairly shocked how close to ok we probably are. but also, prepare to watch most academy or fully amortized players leave in the very near future as there’s a huge need to keep that revenue up.

Funny they assume we’re getting back in the CL within the next two years. Bit of a moot point looking at it honestly

Conor Gallagher
Yeah I would imagine at the end of this window at least one of winstanley or Lawrence will be out of a job. But no idea who they think they’ll be able to replace them with, doubt there’s gonna be a long line of actually qualified people leaping at the chance

Conor Gallagher
Bring the boy home. Let him be captain and figure out another way. Man oh man, as a Canadian, who has worked in PE before, not only are these SDs terrible at being traditional SDs for a football club but (shocker!) turns out they are even worse at being British SDs trying to play by North American PE rules… they just come off as clunky and awkward and it all just seems unnatural. they are out of their depth. But probably would be even if we weren’t playing moneyball

Samuel Omorodion
Can we just cancel all of this nonsense and have Conor back? Offer him the armband and 150k a week for 15 years and be done with it.

Chelsea v Inter Milan, (pre-season), Sun 11th Aug 24, 1500 GMT
All in all the attack looked much better with cucu inverting and gusto being allowed to roam down the right. Would’ve wanted to see a bit more time with those 2 plus Palmer and nkunku on at the same time but there’s the makings of something decent with those 4 in particular and if Neto can do have as much for us as he tends to against us then he will be a very positive addition. Midfield gonna be interesting to watch, and CBs + Sanchez is horrendous but we could almost be ok.
