Ipswich Town vs Chelsea (PL) Monday 30th Dec 24 19:45 GMT
Now why on earth did we change a perfectly good keeper for a newbie, in match that matters so much to our team morale to win, and win well?

I appreciate that citizens of A Robert Fleck World may disagree, but Robert Fleck at 2.1 million quid in 1992, and 4 goals in 48 appearances, wasn't exactly the finest purchase made by Chelsea.............

The greatest gig you ever been to
Tough one. I'm a photographer mostly, and I often get to cover gigs.. Paul Weller is a long time favourite musician, and in about 2012 I covered a gig at the Hammersmith odeon that included - Paul Weller and son, Miles Kane and Emile Sandi .

Bo Hansen - The Black Riders. (from the 1970 album Lord of the Rings. Great music which was the soundtrack in my head when I was reading the books quite a looooong time before Peter Jackson's films came about)

Get a grip. Chatting Chicken Little memes is a tad defeatist in the face of our current reality. 😉

Chelsea vs Fulham (PL) Thurs 26th Dec 24 15:00 GMT
We're ahead, and looking good for it. It's a proper match, Fulham are playing well, but we are edging it overall. We've had some exceptional moves and Palmer's in the groove. What's not to love?

TBH, that particular song was written by another mad man, and 2nd greatest Belgian (after Edin Hazard), Jaques Brel. But Walker was a very special kind of nutter, whom Jaques Brel adored, which is why Brel insisted on allowing Walker to use any of his songs as he wished.......

Malo Gusto to Chelsea
I'm really disappointed he doesn't fit into Maresca's thinking. Chilwell is a great player imo, and an intelligent one too. I find it difficult to believe he couldn't be playing a serious role for us now, if given the chance to adapt to Maresca's needs.

Nicolas Jackson - striker
No kidding 😉 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/dec/21/nicolas-jackson-chelsea-goals-analysis#:~:text=He is on 21 non,League appearances for the Blues.

Nicolas Jackson - striker
Well since you ask, so far three more goals than Drogba at the same stage of his Chelsea career................... 😉 Hazard scored 4 less in his first season than Jackson did in the same number of appearances (35). Jackson now has 9 goals in 16, in his second term, whereas Hazard scored 17 after 35 appearances in his 2nd term.......Jackson should also have a very high assist rate, but the players around him couldn't score either........

That scene with the greatest piece of Brand placement ever. I want a long glass of Carlsberg every time I see this scene.

Great group. I was at all their '87/88 Dingwalls' gigs, and then a few of the other London gigs later in the 90's, Brixton Academy and Wembley Arena.. They weren't always the most together of groups live, but the buzz was always epic...........

Never saw this guy play, but I was in a black cab at the time Arjen Robbin signed, and was having a bit of a banter with the Spud loving cabbie. he said " Robbin looks tasty, but you already had that with Charlie Cook. What a player he was!" Was he right?

Everton vs Chelsea (PL) Sun 22nd Dec 24 14:00 GMT
Maresca .............."They are one of the five best teams in Europe in terms of clean sheets. You struggle to create chances against them. It was not an easy game." And if every paid pundit can acknowledge the part the weather played as leveller in an away match against a team with a head of steam playing for new owners, I think we can too. We had a performance that was solid if not spectacular. The team is growing, we're in the race, It's Christmas. what's not to love! 🙂
