  1. ?Why are we even playing? At this moment we are in a title race, and we are in the top 4. We may not have either at the end of the season, or ever again.Savour the moment, it may be all you ever get.
  2. That was so bad it woke me up in my bed. Word of advice, try watching the match on the tele instead of the radio..........😀
  3. I think Jackson may well have scored that 'sitter' had Sancho's pass not first come off the foot of the defender which slightly altered the pace and direction of the ball in the split second Jackson had to see it and react. I'm not a fan of the phrase 'he had to score', especially when it's preceded by, "a brilliant save by the keeper there.", which has applied on quite a number of occasions when Jackson has failed to score a 'nailed on' goal. Oh, he's had some howlers, but his general play, and the fact that he is always there where it matters, and gets those shots off, is encouraging in a new young player. My glass is half full, not half empty when I think about Jackson as a striker. I'm pretty sure he will make us proud now that we have a team that is looking comfortable in its own skin, and no longer looks like a team of foals trying to gallop on ice.
  4. We are becoming a serious unit, and we're quite simply better than them in every area of the pitch. We'll give them a goal as a stocking filler and wish them a happy Christmas with a 1-3 result.
  5. Kumi - Back to Black. I thought I would post something 'real' from a working musician. This is Kumi, a diminutive Japanese Italian friend of mine who I shared shared a Bermondsey art studio with a few years back. Here she is now, working the venues with her band in Italy.............
  6. I think the word 'struggled' is really the wrong word for simply not having blown anyone's socks off while doing an extremely efficient job and absolutely looking the great footballer he is. I watched the whole match again this morning with the luxury of knowing we would win, and his performance, and the team performaces all around the pitch were solid and creative against a team set up to stop us. Brentford are always a threat on the counter, but we bossed that match and everyone is starting to look they they know their roles, know their team mates, and understand their coach. I'm excited. It hasn't been like that for a couple of years now.
  7. Some things are exactly what they seem. Every season we are in a title race until it's no longer mathematically possible. Why is it that so many Chelsea fans are so impressed with our competitors, but never by our own team? We're doing what we are doing with the players that we already have, with some potential crackers already due to come in the new year, but still 'fans' are producing lists of players that they would prefer to see in a Chelsea shirt. Right now the internet is alive with fans singing our praises, in awe of our squad .................and terrified of what we might do to Their teams chances! I love it. Sure it may end in disappointment, but wait until then to be disappointed, not while we are winning and looking pretty damned good for it too! 😉
  8. I just watched the whole match again. Cucurella's performance was bordering on the superhuman. He was everywhere. Whatever they are feeding him I want some, Mad red at the end. Probably just a few too many iron bars in his lunch.
  9. No? You haven't been reading these match threads then.............. 😉
  10. Perfectly set up for the 3-1 that I predicted
  11. Lots of white flags being quietly hidden beneath the couch. Suddenly everyone is wearing a Chelsea shirt again. jeez. Great game. Believe.........!!
  12. Liverpool, Arsenal, and now Man City have had results that are begging for us to take advantage and really establish ourselves as contenders. It's not cold, it's. not raining, we're on a bit of a run. I will revise my tongue in cheek 5-1 prediction to 3-1
  13. Well Arsenal and Liverpool have given us a small window of opportunity which we have tended to fluff in recent times, and you just know that Bournemouth is going to score because they can, so ambition is critical, and optimism needs to be playing at centre forward tomorrow...... A nail biting 5 -1 to us. 😉
  14. Stevie Ray Vaughan. The best version Of Voodoo Child ever played by anyone, including Hendrix.
  15. deserves at least an honourable mention. it took me a moment. Been pissing myself from laughter ever since
  16. Orchestre Boabab - Mahamadou Bamba. (NB - give it a mo for some real tasty guitar midway onwards)
  17. True dat. Looks the sort of place that Santa hangs out in...........;)
  18. We can't keep playing like this. We need to slow down. My prediction was only 0-4..........
  19. Poetic license. I was probably trying to be funny. 😉
  20. Messi wears pink, Busquets wears pink, Suarez wears pink.Alba wears pink. Embrace the Flamingo look, it could be the best thing we have ever done. 😉
  21. The man himself ,Micky Droy (with beard). I never saw him play (1970-1985), but I have heard plenty about him . My kind of player, - uncompromising, loyal, and hard working. Hence my screen name
