  1. Tambling, wheres Roy Bentley when you need him?
  2. Anelka for me as he showed plenty of leadership qualities up front the whole match, McEachran run him close, superb performance for a youngster. I voted Turnball for Newcastle man of the match.
  3. Parker = big fish, little pond, not big fish in big pond. SWP = the same as Parker, can not cut it with other big players. Veron = just could not cut the EPL, simples. Duff ........ = both where assets to Chelsea, contributed so much to our title winning teams, the author is a joker. Robben
  4. This is Newcastle we are playing, the team who took on Blackpool on their own turf and got turned over, can not see them putting out their full team on this one, so a mixture of first team squad and reserves like us, we do not have to risk Cech, Cole, Mikel, Essien or Drogba to injury ahead of the game at City. So my team selection would be, Turnbull Ferreira, Ivanovic, Bruma, PvA. Benayoun, Ramires, Zherkov. Anelka, Sturridge, Kakuta. with a couple of more younger players on sub's bench along with Lamps, who should get the second half, a strong enough team to see us to a 3 - 0 score line.
  5. Ashley for me, he worked tirelessly with a great display of attacking wing play, and superb in defence as well, he was blowing hard just before halftime though.
  6. Where do I say you are not allowed your opinion? A little knowledge, is a dangerous thing, so commenting on things you do not truly understand, especially religion, can be from disrespectful to distressing, and shows a intolerance and narrow-minded prejudiced. This is the last I will comment on the subject.
  7. Commenting on thing's you do not understand, will just highlight your ignorance, if i do not like, I will treat it with the contempt it deserves.
  8. Bluebeard's comment was not a perfect valid one, as it was made in ignorance as he admitted.
  9. If you do not understand things, why comment on them then? best to live in ignorance, yes Saturday is the Holy day, I think you know full well that followers of the Jewish faith do play on Saturdays, why would followers of the Christian faith refuse to play on Sundays, as far as I know it is not a sin, as for a load of bollocks why is that so? people have their beliefs others do not, your follow Chelsea, is that a load of bollocks on your part.
  10. Yon Kippur, Holy day, not holiday, but that is between Friday night and Saturday, we play late afternoon Sunday, see no reason why he can not play.
  11. Have you a link to the site?
  12. Did not Ivan play RB against Wigan? and was replaced by Ferreira on the hour mark, in reverse of the first game against West Brom. Blackpool will represent a stronger challenge than we met in the mid-week game against Zilina so we should put out the strongest team possible with recalls to Ash, Drogba and if fully fit Lamps, so my team prediction is. Cech Ivan, Alex, JT, Ash. Essien, Mickel, Lamps/Benajoun. Anelka, Drgba, Malouda. That should be strong enough team to collect three points, and improve our goal difference a tad more. 3 - 0 with our strike force all getting on the score sheet.
  13. Going for my tried and tested 3 - 0, not that I have had much success with my predictions, can not see us doing a Wigan or West Brom. on them even though they play a open game of football, they have started the season well, came a little unstuck at the new Library and as TW said, a potential banana skin, but believe we will have more than enough to gather three points.
  14. I do not condone sloppy defending if it can be helped, weak or great goals, does it really matter, but to criticise a performance on a few dodgy moments is some what unbelievable, we played a team who gave 100% effort, where as we where coasting, we gave debuts to three youngsters and still managed to win 4-1 away from home on a sh*tty night, small pitch, and a few dodgy ref calls, some people should think back a few years too where we was, then they can judge.
  15. No you are not missing anything, some ppl are just unbelieving at times, still as you say, sod the goal and sod all the detractors, if they just want 100% pure football, they will have to want on. KTBFFH.
  16. I think you will be the only one who thinks that we only deserve a draw against second rate opposition, they only reason they had more shots on goal was, they where shooting from anywhere, and most of them went wide, where as we only had one shot wide, and FOUR in the onion bag, goal wins games not shots, as you say football is a matter of opinion, yours is way off. We never played great, but hey we was cruising, that's is why we gave debuts to three youngsters. Anelka for me.
  17. No worries mate, he missed the best part of last season with us, as well as the world cup, in my opinion he was raring to play and it shows in all of his games he has played so far, even in the pre-season friendlies. As PloKoon13 said, playing time is a good thing for his recovery, and I agree with TheWestwayWonder, the coaching staff will be monitoring him closely.
  18. On the road with... Chelsea: Back where it all started, but still no sign of Roman By Matt Barlow in Zilina Last updated at 12:05 PM on 15th September 2010 A few things have changed since the last trip to the foothills of the Tatras to see Chelsea's superstars against little Zilina. For starters, the tidy little Pod Dubnom stadium has had a face-lift and a club official pointed a few things out, with a strange mixture of pride and embarrassment as Carlo Ancelotti worked his players on the pitch in training. 'Not as big as your stadiums in London,' he accepted. Back to square one: Chelsea train in Zilina ahead of Wednesday's match True, but, at a glance, Zilina's facilities seemed better than those at White Hart Lane. More elbow room in the press box for starters, the view is much better and the wifi works. And it's only marginally more difficult to get to from south west London than the home of Spurs. They've built a new hotel, no more than 50 yards from the stadium, where the Chelsea team are staying. Ancelotti's players could wander down a freshly-surfaced road to the ground. It will feel like Chelsea Village. (It won't). The main men: Roman Abramovich with his Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti A cluster of fans were waiting outside the doors for the team to return from their training session, hunting autographs. Nearby is a souvenir shop selling David Beckham dolls among other things and these days the Euro is the unit of currency in Slovakia. This time, there is no air of paranoia about the whereabouts of Roman Abramovich. In 2003, when he had just taken over the club and was splurging millions on new players, there was enormous attention on his first game, the Champions League qualifier in Zilina. Twitchy reporters had an eye on the skies for helicopters but he turned out to be on the other side of the planet, moored off the coast of Alaska on one of his super-yachts. The takeover proved to be a pivotal moment, not just for Chelsea, but for English football, altering the landscape by triggering an influx of wealthy foreign owners, hiking wages and transfer fees to new levels, testing the nerve of those determined to keep pace. The Russian billionaire didn't make it to Slovakia but turned up at Anfield a few days later for his first game, looking all smart in his tie and witnessed a 2-1 win with goals from Juan Sebastian Veron and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. In seven years, Abramovich has barely uttered a word in public, so these days there tends to be less media clamour about his attendance, except when the rumours start that he's about to sack the manager or quit the club, of course. Last night, his spokesman wasn't sure of his whereabouts. It was also a big year for Zilina in 2003, with their own sugar daddy, paper tycoon Jozef Antosik taking over the club and bankrolling unprecedented success. They have won the Slovakian title five times in the last nine years but this European campaign is the pinnacle, beating Birkirkara of Malta (despite losing the first leg), Litex Lovech of Bulgaria and Czech rivals Sparta Prague to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League for the first time. Raring to go: John Terry (right) and Nicolas Anelka are out trough their paces It sparked a bit of a row, with the club increasing ticket prices to as much as 600 euros. After criticism, the prices were reduced and those who had already bought tickets were given a scarf and a ticket for last weekend's game at home to Tatran Presov. Some disgruntled fans staged a walk-out protest during the game. And, at the end of it all, the stadium (less than 11,000 for the Champions League due to certain UEFA restrictions) is sold out. Seven years ago, only 6,160 could squeeze in the ground to see Chelsea. Progress, of sorts, for all Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1312240/On-road--Chelsea-Zilina--Still-sign-Roman-Abramovich.html#ixzz0zcV7Rqrk Interesting article, sorry that I found it a bit late.
  19. Zilina is a second rate team from a second rate league, we can not afford to play our strongest team every game, rotation is the by word to signal a successful season, and not have a knackered team by Christmas, playing the amount of games we do. 4 - 0 no trouble mark my word.
  20. So as you did not waken the Hammers fans on your way out. Dreamy lot down at Upton Park.
  21. Can not see too many problems ahead so 4 - 0 is my forecast, Anelka hat trick to put him on the way to recovering the golden boot from Drogba.
  22. Zilina 0-2 Chelsea Gudjohnsen 42 Drahno 76og Chelsea 3-0 Zilina Johnson 32 Huth 67 Hasselbaink 78 Scores and scorers last time we played Zilina, also the attendance at Zilina's ground was 6,160, all in all can not see to many problems for us, so a little bit of caution can be exercised with team selection, so lets rest JT, let Lamps have more rest after his operation, bring in Sturridge for Drogba Benayorn for Lamps, Alex for JT, rest Mikel, and swap Malouda in place of Kalou, with four of our main players rested for the coming fixture against the new boy high flyers Blackpool, who will give us more trouble than Zilina. Cech,,,,, Ferreira, Alex, Ivan, Ash,,,, Essien, Ramires, Benayoun,,,,, Anelka, Sturridge, Malouda. Team to see a comprehensive win for us 4 - 0, get job done, lads.
  23. Essien was colossal today, (also his heading has improved) Run closely by Mikel.
  24. Happy birthday for the 6th, but how can you celebrate poor old Liverfool, I personally believe Hicks and Gillett are doing a wonderful job, as was Benitez before he was wrongly sack in my opinion, oh poor, poor Liverfool. :D
