The Moos Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Some got easy draws (ManU & Pool). We didn't, but should still win. Spurs against Arsenal will be a nice one.
Mikstaw Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Will be interesting match agaist Newcastle. We should win.
KrazyTea Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 At least we got them at home, I'm sure from Ancellotti's perspective he would of like a lower side to play some of the younger players, but it is what it is.
Anders Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 At least we got them at home, I'm sure from Ancellotti's perspective he would of like a lower side to play some of the younger players, but it is what it is. Hopefully he'll do so even though the oppositions tough. To play the regular starters is a complete waste of time and powers. Just field 3-4 youngsters plus a handful of back-up players.
evissy Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Would have been nice to face an easier opponent so we could experiment with the starting 11. We should still field Kakuta, Bruma, Van Aanholt and boys in this game. If we lose, who cares. It's a mickeymouse cup anyways. We have lot of internationals, CL and FAcup on top of Prem so we should field a young team in this and look where it gets us.
PloKoon13 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 This will probably (a few token regulars aside) be a battle of the youngsters between both teams. Hopefully our Under-19 European Champion can take the barcodes down.
BlueNose Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I expect newcastle will put their strongest team out, they really dont have enough depth in their squad to change it to much and their youth are knowhere near as good as ours. should win, although as its the carling cup i wont be loosing any sleep if we dont
mad_mac Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Thankfully it's at home. Think the last time we played them at St James' Park in the winter back in 04-05, we lost!
Andreas Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Expecting to see some youngsters get a chance in this one. I don't rate Carling Cup but it's still a trophy that can be won. Kakuta, Sturridge, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Ramires etc should get to start in this one a long with Bosingwa to get his match fitness back. I would play like this. Optional being Zhrikov replacing Aanholt or Kakuta. ------------------Turnbull --Bosingwa--Alex--Bruma--Van Aanholt --------------------Mikel -------Benayoun-------Ramires ----Kalou---------------------Kakuta ----------------Sturridge Would love to see that to be fair.

I fully agree with this. Carlo, copy/paste this to your laptop and use it!
Mikstaw Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 It would be very nice to see this squad! :D

HazardsLeftPeg Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 great line up only change maybe ------------------Turnbull --Bosingwa--Alex--Bruma--Van Aanholt --------------------Ramires -------Benayoun-------Zhirkov ----Kalou---------------------Kakuta ----------------Sturridge Looking forward to the game I'd love to see that team but i'm not sure there will be so many wholesale changes... This was the line-up Carlo used against Blackburn last season: Hilario, Belletti, Ivanovic, Paulo Ferreira, Zhirkov, Mikel, Ballack, Deco, Joe Cole, Kalou, Malouda. Thats a really experienced line-up with the likes of Bruma, Kakuta, Matic etc on the bench. I'm hoping that was because of the pressure of winning a trophy in his first season, but i have a feeling that " We win every competition we enter" is the general philosophy with Carlo
mbh Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Is this gonna be on Sky? No, on the ground at the Bridge. :D
Gilvorak Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 --------------- Hilario ----------------- ----Ferriera- -- Bruma Ivanovic ---- Zhirkov --------------------Ramires -------McEachran-------Benayoun ----Kalou---------------------Kakuta ----------------Sturridge Lampard, Essien, Anelka etc on the bench
Bobbywoodhogan Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 No, on the ground at the Bridge. :D ha ha I walked right into that one :D
loz Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Is this game being televised? A mate I play five a side with is a Geordie and we are planning on going to the pub to watch it if it is on.
