Benny for his first half display, and a quite superb pass for Studges goal.

At half time I'd have gone for Benayoun or Anelka, but thought they faded badly in the second half. So over the course of the whole game JT for me. Excellent throughout in a game where the score flattered us hugely.

1-1 would have been a fair result.

Benny played the kind of passes that we have been crying out for for a while, can he do it consistently?

Would have given him MOTM but Essien was just immence

Seriously? We switched of after the 4th goal, how the hell would 1-1 have been fair?

Defensively they were very poor.

If you look at the stats for shots at goal they had more than we did. They bossed much of the 2nd half.

I've seen games when we've drawn that we should've won comfortably. This was a game when clinical finishing against a very poor defence was the difference.

If you think we were great than fine. Football's a matter of opinions and mine is that the score flattered us

But I'm delighted that we won of course and will be at the bridge to see us hopefully smash Marseille (it's personal that one!)

Where exactly did I say we were great? And im not sure what stats youve got but the ones im looking at have we had 10 to their 9 shots on target and 61% to 39% possession.

I think the main reason we got him was for his consistency. Even last year he was consistently one of the best Liverpool players despite a team playing horrible.

I think you will be the only one who thinks that we only deserve a draw against second rate opposition, they only reason they had more shots on goal was, they where shooting from anywhere, and most of them went wide, where as we only had one shot wide, and FOUR in the onion bag, goal wins games not shots, as you say football is a matter of opinion, yours is way off.

We never played great, but hey we was cruising, that's is why we gave debuts to three youngsters.

Anelka for me.

Benayoun played some lovely passes and showed quick feet on occasion usually finding a blue shirt even when under pressure..Essien and Nic also had very good games.

Rather than the scoreline flattering us I would say we had the game wrapped up, gave some useful playing time to some useful youngsters and kept the boys injury free in a good run out..ok after their lucky goal we had a few shaky minutes but played the second half well within ourselves.

I am well happy with the start of our CL campaign.

I went for Yossi. He impressed me beyond what I expected from him tonight. When you think about it he's played about 90 minutes over his 2 appearances so far and has 1 goal and 2 assists to his name.

I don't wanna keep drawing comparisons but Mr Cole has done what exactly during his time in that filthy red shirt? Bar the missed pen and sending off :laugh2:

Agree with you and the comparison with Joe is fair. After all he gobbed off at every opportunity once he'd signed for the scum so maybe now he'll be thinking he should've kept his counsel and done his talking on the pitch.

I went with Yossi. I'm not sure how much we can take out of this match but he looks like an upgrade over Cole.

Most of their shots on target were potshots from outside the box which Cech lapped up comfortably. They didn't even score from one of them; they had to rely on Cech's poor punch into the back of one of his own defenders' heads.

UEFA has it 8 shots on target for Zilina to 7 from us. They had most corners and freekicks as well. Not that that matters much.

Possession was 54-46 to us.

benayoun for me, thought he did extremley well, covered a lot of ground and had a hand in everything good we did

i thought it was a choice between Benayoun and Anelka, in the end i went for Benayoun

Anelka for me! Loved his handcuffs celebration. His face showed how much he cared about the France ban.
