Pretty easy one for me. McEachran for coming off the bench and starting to control a midfield that had been abandoned by Zhirkov and Benayoun. He went a long way tonight to showing that of the youngsters he is the nearest to being capable of stepping up to first team action. Unfortunately Kakuta did the opposite.

I think McEachran's was the best performance, but that Anelka was the pick of the players who were on for the full 90. I also expect a lot of people will vote for McEachran, so my vote's going to Anelka.

I thought McEachran was outstanding when he came on, he wanted the ball all the time (unlike zhirkov and benayoun.) and he seemed to drift past players with ease. Despite Anelka's 2 goals I thought he was useless for 50 odd minutes, but did come alive in the second half and nearly rescued the game for us.

McEachran!!! Outstanding performance! He should be Karlo 's first choice!

Anelka for his two goals and leadership upfront. He did all the right things and was our one attacking player who constantly threatened and fought.

McEachran a close second. I hope we get to see much more of him.

Anelka led the line well, Josh had a good game and deserves a mention, looks a prospect but lets not get too carried away, he's young and will need nurturing.

Anelka for me, I almost felt bad for the guy after his amazing efforts that we still lost the game.

McEachran (and PVA to a lesser extent) was superb though, a close second, no one else really came close

Sturridge was pretty woeful IMO, as was Turnbull, and Bruma...

Difficult to chose between McEachran and Anelka, but I went for the former. Simply outstanding the 40 mins he got.

No doubt Josh McEachran Future star at The Bridge.

I picked Anelka because it felt like he carried the team on his shoulders for much of the match but could just as easily been Josh.

McEachran deserves plaudits for his cameo......now surely top of the pecking order among the youngsters?

But I think Anelka was brilliant from start to finish.

Anelka had a fine match, constently involved and drove the team forward. But for me Josh was outstanding. I raved about him to some friends pre match and had hoped he would get a start. However, he did not dissapoint when he came on, an outstanding performance, never looked out of place.

I also thought PVA had a solid game, Bruma did ok, lot to learn still, silly free kick conceded for the second goal. Biggest dissapointments were Turnbull, Ferreira (thought we had become the first club in history to send a player out on loan to a team we were actually playing!) but most dissapointing of all was Sturridge, needs to take a long hard look at himself, somewhere in there is a good player trying to get out and he needs to sort himself out..

Anelka for me as he showed plenty of leadership qualities up front the whole match, McEachran run him close, superb performance for a youngster.

I voted Turnball for Newcastle man of the match.

I went for McEachran but Anelka was good ,one thing I did notice is we need a new number two goalkeeper that's for sure 2 of the goals he could have done better
