Who is our most important player...
For me it would be Petr Cech. There have been some games where I have been thinking what the final score would have been if we were without him. Though I don't like the thought of the best player very much as many of them are important and the team need them all.

Vagner Love
Zlatan is a versatile striker with great abilities but he does need a partner who opens the space for him. Can Anelka do it for him? When I see Anelka between the Arsenal (!!!) defense I'm not yet sure if he can do that. On the downside Zlatan will never come to us.

And another Portuguese?
Maybe this'll result in leaving out other promising talents. If he knows Brazilian players well - good for him - other countries produce good players either and just I hope Scolari doesn't miss them out only when he knows Brazilian players so well. We'll see what January will bring. And if it's only a Brazilian player.

And another Portuguese?
That's the point I'm hinting at. Scolari seems to have a focus on people from his own nationality. If he's worked with them in the past - fine. I doubt Scolari has worked with Vagner Love. Professionally he's never come in touch with him. And as he's been Portugal coach for so many years I really don't think professionally he's got much to do with young players from Brazil - Vagner Love especially. For him he must be one fine striker like another - only difference is his national background. I do disagree that it is comparable to the situation when Mourinho brought Riccy to us back then when he's arrived at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho has worked with him and achieved success. But the rapport between Scolari and Vagner Love are the same as the relationship between - say a not-signed-by-Real Huntelaar and Scolari - despite the nationality. Maybe it's easier for him to track Portuguese and Brazilian players personally - but as his current profession as a Chelsea coach it is expected of him to have an eye on all players regardless of nationality and language. Though we don't know yet what's happening inside his head the signs are just hinting the players Scolari is interested are all Portuguese-speaking. The question if this is a coincidence or if it's intended is not rightless. There have been a lot of remarks made about this Portuguese/Brazil-thing.

And another Portuguese?
I doubt Scolari has worked with Vagner Love in the Portugal team; though he might be a capable striker yet still it seems he doesn't have interest in any others though I do not believe there aren't other options. Hope this isn't going to become a second Robinho-theater. But of course it's up to him.

Our home record has ended (though not taken away) and now it comes we have set an away record. Utterly greatness.

Next coach?
The "stupid answers" are included in the vote already ... or did you think they're not stupid enough?

And another Portuguese?
I'm wondering if there is a new entrance requirement for the team

Kaka open to move?
As AC Milan has been dumped from the CL this season he certainly wouldn't mind dispensing the CL another time. Though I have been thinking it's a motivation for players to play in the CL but I might be wrong, though.

Issue with the forum
None of the forums which use phpBB I yet have used provide the function to block a user! Not that I need it but I've never seen it! And phpBB doesn't have enough functions to "observe" the user ... Invision is showing you who has visited your profile recently, users can leave comments on the profile site and etc. ... all I have never seen on a phpBB board. Maybe that's because the only phpBB boards I've seen aren't from abroad ... as vBulletin is favourite in Germany anway, see big-boards

Next coach?
Look nobody has voted for Monsieur yet ...

Issue with the forum
Afaik the functionality of phpBB is very, very limited. Imagine you couldn't even block a user!

And another Portuguese?
I'm questioning which qualitiy he rates highest!

And another Portuguese?
Has Felipe ever tracked a player non-Portuguese speaking?

Issue with the forum
vBulletin doesn't offer as much features as Invision does, as far as I'm concerned but I guess the licence is cheaper.

Next coach?
I do agree with BLUENUT it's too early for this but I for me miss "Mourinho" besides "Avram Grant" as options. Though everyone might smash at me that they are no REALISTIC OPTIONS I dare to say neither are Fergie, Tubbie and Don Fabio.

Vagner Love
My thoughts exactly when I read that he's Brazilian.
-
Henk's got his eye on Alex
So Felipe is going to lose a compatriot ... and I thought we're going to turn ourselves into a semi Portuguese/Brazil-squad. Portuguese speaking.

Liverpool escape punishment
They surely support burglars. And burglars do support them VERY MUCH

Liverpool escape punishment
The FA would be crazy to punish Liverpool. How couldn't they protect their most loved baby

Money makes the world go around doesn't it :)

Vagner Love
I was told Love doesn't have a good season yet. Currently his hairstyle seems to be more conspicuous than his performance. I might be wrong though

Which way's better?
But Scolari is playing a style that hasn't proved any success when it comes to a defense that is better organized till now. If you want to pass the ball into the box or everywhere near the box I agree there are skilled players that can handle this task even when all the defenders do stand up right on their place already. However I dare to say that not every player in Chelsea's squad is able to do that. I for me, claim Malouda e.g. can't. But he is not the only problem. My second question is that when it comes to a well organized defense it can make a big difference if you're passing and moving quickly. At least Scolari's Brazil and Portugal in their better times have been relying on pace strongly. Brazil's 2002 WC squad maybe was the most successful squad Scolari has ever coached in his life till now. Just look at the goal that has talen them to beat England in the Quarter Finals. They were quick enough to "rush" an attack without the England defenders even knowing what was going on around them. He had the right players for this. He had the young Ronaldinho. But we don't have a right Ronaldinho at Chelsea. I'm not questioning the quality of our Chelsea squad. I'm just saying that in professional football not everyone is an allrounder and do everything. There are some players suited to a certain style and some are not. It's like a pastry made for baking bread can't be used to bake French biscuit. But this will indicate that the way Scolari is playing (if we stick to the "beautiful game") isn't effective against stronger sides. When it is, then you don't need another way. So what Scolari has presented till now isn't enough.

Man City told to go whistle again..
If JT goes on with what he's doing now then 60 million would be a decent deal. No I love JT. But given his recent form his performance is worrying me. And Ivanovic' display is superb.

Which way's better?
This is quite an interesting point. From my view, since we've got rid of Duff, Robben and Guddy, we did not rely much on pace the last two winning seasons, since we rely on Drogba's strength and his great abilities to control the ball even if he's surrounded by opposition defenders. And as he's very good in airy situations also we didn't rely solely on pace when Drogba is fit. Now I've seen that Scolari's system does very much rely on pace. He's used to it when he was the coach in Portugal/Brazil. He doesn't rely on long balls, his system is building on quick flanks and accurate passings. But now with Chelsea, the whole team seems not to be used much to playing tempo game. Even our highly-rated midfield is not really a pace machine, and I do not mean the age. And not to tell about Kalou, Malouda and Anelka. They're neither speed machines nor do they pass accurately. So from my view so far their abilities are simply not suited for Scolari's system but he has to work with them. That maybe won't have a happy ending. Now I'm just thinking if Scolari has been too optimistic. Did he want a revolution at Chelsea but having forgotten that the players are just not suited to it?
