  1. I understand the protest was against the owners, not due to the sh*t results leading into the game.
  2. maybe not, but there is always mention of how poor their support is and how the ground is empty for 10 minutes either side of half time due to all the corporates. Not as bad as some mentioned in the peice in terms of plastic atmosphere, but thats because so much effort is put into the corporate facilities that i dont think the club really give two hoots about the atmosphere. The Emirates is a graveyard of a ground almost every week.
  3. he is a top manager, and i'll bet that there are a lot of fans of your rivals really hoping that he and roman havent been telling porkies this season and he is actually staying. A top manager, and clearly a very good man to go with it. Doesnt quite suit you for some reason! lol.
  4. That is spot on. There is definately something sinister within Uefa, and Fifa for that matter, when it comes to their dealings with England or English clubs compared to others. Roma is probably the worst example of Uefa failing to deal with a problem, but then again Inter have had their issues (throwing a scooter from the top tier for example), but there is a nice stereotype for them to keep the fire burning underneath when it comes to the horrible english hooligan thugs.
  5. last say on the matter, i promise. Would have left it alone, but you have just gone on to say that the malouda one was 'obstruction'. I dont think it was, but if it was, thats not a penalty, its an indirect free kick. pedantic maybe. Ignore my posts on the handball, as i say, i've not seen it properly, and hoped i had made that clear. From what i have seen, i cant and havent given a definitive viewpoint. and as i said with Drogba's, i would have been up in arms wanting a penalty if it was my club, but i can understand it not being given. To my mind, if the other claims hadnt been made, and that was the only penalty shout of the night, i dont think you would see it as so much of a clear cut shout, i think the summed effect of all of the claims has made it stand out more. Was it more of a shout than the Henry one in the first leg? Probably about the same taken in isolation. Both could have been given, neither were definates to me. And in a game of this magnitude, very few refs want to give penalties, they would much rather not have to. Not saying that is right, but i think its true of them.
  6. it's nonsence isnt it. Death threats are never to be taken lightly or excused, but words written on a forum, in the heat of the moment, however stupid, shouldnt be seen in the same light. to me it is media looking to have a pop, having the Frisk business as a nice precident to hark back to.
  7. as i said, i have only seen the handball incedents once, at full speed, so from what i saw, although his arm was out, it looked like it could be percieved as ball to hand. For me, the malouda one definately wasnt a pen. He dived in the box for me, but was fouled originally out of it. I agree he played on from the original foul 10 yards earlier, but there was enough contact again to give the free kick, just though malouda thought, well im in the box now, i'll go down. Just the way i saw it. The drogba one i might be wrong about, and if it was my team i would have screamed for a pen, but those sort of challenges often dont get a pen, especially when the keeper was favourite to get to the ball first anyway.
  8. i only saw the first half and although i didnt think the ref was good, i dont think he was biased. The Malouda shout wasnt a pen for me. When he went down inside the box it was a dive, but he was being hauled back before that, so the freekick was correct. the Drogba one in the first half was a decent shout, but one that often isnt given. I dont think there was enough contact to consider it a definate pen, its one of those that sometimes is sometimes isnt. The red card for abidal was a shocking decision as there was no contact that i could see, so you benefitted there. the other two handballs i have only seen a single replay of, and although Piques looked like it could be given, i'm not surprised it wasnt. Couldnt comment on the toure one though.
  9. Surely that is the correct answer. If you dont think you can win the league, which i would agree with, surely winning the most prestigious competition in the world for the very first time should be something you all pray for. All the responses linked to what liverpool fans would say are so difficult for me to understand. As a football fan, first priority should be wanting your team to win, at any cost, shouldnt it? So what cost is it Liverpool winning the league?
  10. very good response, clearly biased, but very good none the less.
  11. that same CB played at right back against united and they won 4-1, so its too simple to put it that way. The way i see it is that the Madrid game became a must win for them as at the time, following the boro result, they had given up on the leaue and defeat to real would be the end of their season, so they put everything into it, that then meant a big big win, and a huge confidence boost, which they carried into the united game. If united had beaten fulham, i think there is every chance liverpool would have drawn or lost yesterday as they wouldnt have had the beleif. I dont think your result against spurs was a factor to them as realistically for them this season, Shankly's old addage is true. First is First, second is nowhere.
  12. i was reading after the champions league draw that Liverpool and Chelsea have played 24 times in all comps since benitez arrived at liverpool, and in that time chelsea have had 4 managers. I dont think there can be any doubt that the instability is one of the biggest reasons that you lot have had inconsistency this term. United and liverpool have also had that same inconsistency this year, and cannot be attributed to this same reason, but liverpool have had many behind the scenes issues, and also having to live up to a massive pressure to win the league, and i think united have got a few more ego's than their great teams of the last decade have which causes its own problems. I still think this season the league could be won by any one of the current top three, although i beleive that the international break has come at a great time for united.
  13. can i just say one thing, this idea that Liverpool have taken your record is nonsense and keeps getting banged out all over the shop. Liverpool have put an end to your unbeaten home run, they havent taken your record. It will be another 4 and a half years before they can TAKE your record. you played well in parts, just not the final thrid. Liverpool played a well disciplined game and got the break. Both sides created a few chances, but the early goal meant that the times liverpool just missed it added to their beleif, the times you just missed it added to your frustration and thats what caused the long shots frmo Beletti, Di Santo (whoever he is?!) and Mikel.
