  1. Mourinho has my full backing and support and will have until the very (most likely bitter) end, though he'd do well to watch that, it's very hard to disagree with a word that Ruud says there.
  2. RIP to a great servant of the club. The promotion season of 89 remains one of my favourite Chelsea seasons ever.
  3. Chippy Some of those players should hang their heads in shame. At 1-3 the the crowd were still 95% totally backing him today and i am unequivocally one of the 95%.
  4. It's pretty much just the same article he's written for the past decade. Why are people even shocked or outraged anymore. I could've written that on behalf of him word for word. Honestly, he wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for Chelsea FC.
  5. I think the biggest issue with the Stones saga was that we went public with it and that royally pissed off Everton who quite understandbly dug their heels in, even when the player put in the transfer request. If we'd have played it cool and shown a bit more dignity im sure we wouldve got him, perhaps even with the final offer that was made. Dont have too much issue with the Papy signing, it was a defender on the cheap when we needed another body, simply as a last resort backup thats not a long term solution, its adequate. There will be a big money defender signing in Jan or in the Summer, i think that much is obvious. Sadly id wager on it not being Stones now though. The deal i still cant get my head around was the Reading defender. Utterly mystifying.
  6. One of the best things about last night was Traore shooting on sight when he came on. You could almost sense the other players going 'erm what on earth is he up to...'
  7. And yet you still chose to start this thread after he gave that post match interview ?
  8. Plenty of fight tonight. They players seemed behind him and up for it and the 5k fans sang his name all night. And so they should've. Was it really worth another thread.
  9. No issue with that match. They fought and they fought hard. Wonderful to hear the travelling 5k singing their hearts out for Mourinho. That's the spirit boys.
  10. All these possible replacement names I'm seeing listed here are simply reinforcing the point that Mourinho has to stay.
  11. Excuse the plagarism. But its well worth the read. I think Jose has got some serious work to do and needs to be more proactive but sacking him would be madness. This sums it up perfectly for me.
  12. Fair post. Sadly, my gut feeling is that if we lose to Liverpool he'll be gone. The recent statement in support of him was great, but also said that 'results have not been good enough and the team's performances must improve'. They made of point of including that. And they improved havent so far. Villa was a red herring. We were poor and gifted 2 goals by the worse team in the league. The sh*tsorms that surround seemingly every match we play are frustrating and are really starting to grate, just like they did in his first spell. But the club arent stupid and knew what they were getting into when they re-hired him. They wont like the circus that follows him (and that he creates) but they knew full well what they were getting into. None of that will cost him. At the end of the day any manager lives and dies by results and performances. Even the best. And currently both are awful with no sign of improving. I dont want him sacked, but we know how it works at Chelsea, and generally at the top end of European football. Right now i can only seeing it heading one way. Saturday is huge.
  13. Blaming Emenalo ? Hmm, not for me. Cetainly agree with some of the comments about recent signings and sales but even if Jose doesnt have the players he wants he still should be able to manage what he has got out there, this is after all the current League champions we are talking about here...Hardly a ramshackle Sunday league team. Not that you can tell the difference at the moment... Currently our players players performance level, and attitude is awful. The tactics and squad managerment are awful. These factors arent down to Emenalo event if he controls who comes in and out the club. Jose needs to manage what he has got, he is prob the highest paid manager in world football and he needs to do his job.
  14. Tough one. He didn't do too much wrong but we have to be honest in that we looked a lot stronger in the second half with Matic. I guess Jose felt Villa would pressure us more than they actually did, and that as time went on if we were only up by one goal the pressure would be on the players to see it out in the face of a Villa onslaught and maybe felt it best to take RLC out of the equation - the priority yesterday was about the 3 points and nothing more after all. I don't know. Great to see Mourinho start him though. A proper first yesterday. Be interesting to see when his next start is now...
  15. Bored about hearing about how the tourists and day trippers have ruined the atmosphere at SB. It's been the same since the mid 90s. We've got 20k season ticket holders. Where are they? When was the last time the MHU sang anything exactly ? Yes we have an issue with tourists. But this is not new news. But rather than blame them and starting cockfights about being true diehard supporters I wish some of that energy would go into supporting the team vocally from the 'old school'.

I'm agreeing that we struggled under Carlo, if you read my posts! Sometimes it was awful, we looked as bad as we do now. We certainly were not destroyed in the last 2 CL exits under Mourinho but we did not deserve to go through in either. Against Madrid we were well beaten all over the pitch and prob more so as we were against Man Utd and Inter under Carlo. PSG last year was bizarre but nobody could argue the right team didn't go through.

And we have been outplayed in both CL exits since Mourinhos return too.Carlos first season was magical, in terms of the football played and the silverware earned - the second not so good but there were a few things out of his control. I always felt he deserved a third season and the manner in which he was dispatched was dreadful.
  18. bjd replied to CFC1982's topic in General Chelsea FC
I think it's very similar. We did start well but had a very easy run of fixtures - then we got found out and Carlo seemed incapable of doing anything about it. We did manage to pull ourselves backup in the second half of the season, the two new signings in their own way galvanised the team but 2nd (on goal diff) flattered us, Utd had a really wobble that made it closer than it actually was. That season, for the most part we played clueless, numbingly slow and lifeless football, very similar to what we are seeing now. In many respects it's worse now as we have a better set of players (as you said). For me the big worry is that Mourinho doesn't seem to acknowledge there is a major issue - his post match comments are f**king frightening - whereas before I guess Carlo did seem to know it was going wrong. The similarity for me is that neither manager seemed capable of doing anything about it.

The resemblance to Carlos second season and what's happening now is quite intriguing. A poor Summer in the transfer window as defending Champions Key players not performing A bizarre internal staffing issue A manager seemingly incapable of recognising or doing anything about the slide Then came THAT transfer deadline day and a very inglorious dismissal. I wouldn't bet against something similar happening this time but before May, especially if qualification for the CL is at serious risk.

It's fascinating reading this thread. This is clearly a very divisive subject. Personally it's a Mourinho sh*tstorm too far for me. I've defended him (and the club) in previous situations when I probably shouldn't have but my love for the club has taken over and let my heart rule my head. But I was appalled when this happened and I'm still appalled at it now. Worse of all it's all only just starting - this is going to get bigger and messier and we are going to get some of the worst publicity we have ever had. I agree there will be people in the media and people not involved in the game throwing their oars in, and some of it will be unfair for sure but a lot of it is going to be deserved - it's going to be the ultimate PR nightmare. I didn't become a supporter of CFC for this. Apart from this post I'm staying well away from it, as for me it's simply no fun and not what being a football supporter is about. It's a a total sh*tstorm , shockingly handled, which could've been nipped in the bud a month ago but is going run and run and affect us off the pitch and I fear, on it too. This isn't what I signed up for. Shame on everyone, but mostly Jose. I love the bloke and what he has done for the club but by God does he come at a cost. This is all total bollocks.
  21. . Didn't think Ivanovic was particularly bad today. I do think he should be dropped but it does feel like he has become the go to scapegoat. Plenty worse out there today. Fabregas again was pathetic, I'd love to see his stats. Furthermore, it's about time questions were asked of Costa and Hazard. Costa is playing like the unsettled and unhappy player we keep hearing rumours about and Hazard is just so unfit, how has this been allowed to happen exactly??
  22. Agreed. I Support Mourinho 100% but things need to change, fast. If a team continually plays like they are underprepared and under motivated then questions inevitably start to be asked of the manager. Having said that its hard to know if some of these posters are trolls or not. I genuinely can't tell.

The chances of that happening are about the same as Mourinho dropping Ivanovic on Saturday
