C'mon Plonks. Hes a half decent player but nothing more. A lot of potential but hes never lived lived up to it, its time to move on. I think the critiscim is warranted, but not any abuse of course, (though im not really seeing much of that bar a couple of twatty posts). He never got back into my good books after clearly giving up at the end of the 2014 season ahead of the World Cup, when you know, we were bloody close to winning the League! Someone like Chalobah would offer just the same if not more.And he would cost us nothing too. Time to try something new in that area. If we get a £30 million bid then we should jump at it, we'd be fools not too. But we are fools so who knows, he will prob get a new contract.

The thing is we say this every season and every time we get new manager. His time is up I think and he can't really complain. His high point was his first ever starting game against Juve. I thought we signed the new Kaka! He never came close to matching that performance. I'm reading a lot of people saying he is inconsistent. I actually don't agree with that at all because I think he is very consistent - he has one decent game in 6 and mostly that's against a poor team.

But I guess we could do with a bit of that. I'm sick and tired of watching our mob fannying about before someone shoots.

I've remained consistent in my view that it's very hard to read anything into pre season friendlies. And at the risk of going old school on you, I've been on this forum (in its varies guises) for nearly 20 years and not once have I called anyone a 'd**khead'.

Yeah, minimum. Can't say I'd be too fussed about him going - there are aspects of his game that I love and some that make me cringe. I would however have reservations about replacing him with Lukaku. Morata all the way for me. Thing is, if Athletico have just signed a striker, where's he off to ?

Yep but let's also not kid ourselves, the team that plays against West Ham won't be anything like the one that started tonight. And following Aug 31 I'm sure it'll be even more changed. It wasn't great but these are the matches that Conte is going to learn about the players and squad. And it's pretty clear that there are some players who are simply not up to it out there anymore. And some of the youngsters (such as Aina) will learn a lot from matches like this.

Imagine if Hazard has a great season and Real Madrid come sniffing for him and he goes there (inevitably) for a massive fee. A week later someone else comes in for i dont know, Kante or Azpi offering huge money. The club would do all they could to keep them, even if its crazy money offered. The fans would be in uproar and just what sort of message would selling two of your players send out, no matter how good your scouting system is ? I do hope we have a plan b.

Conte has been here what, two weeks ? Some players have been back for a week. We still have a major player to start training and obviously we still have some new signings to bed in too. Oh and our best player and our best striker didnt play a minute in this one as well. Conte has to install his ethos. You dont do this in two weeks. He is quite rightly working on fitness and shape at the moment. Anyone else expecting anything above that at this stage is living in dreamland. To me the players already look fitter and shaper than they did this time last year and that should be what we are looking for at this stage. How can you possibly come to conclusions ? After the West Ham game we might be in a better position to voice some concerns but right now ? Its absurd. Just not sure what people want or expect any more. Some of these comments are alarming, though i shouldnt be surprised i guess.
