  1. Afaik all the bids were described as "good". All the countries have stadiums ready etc. Obviously 3 of them had to lose. England, spain/por, bel/hol can all host tomorrow. Russia can host in a weeks time. Well think about it this way. Youre a fifa voting person and the english press accuses you all of bribery/whatever. Will you vote for england? No.
  2. So true. This thread is like oh england didnt win so its obviously rigged, and nothing to do with the fact that fifa will get much more profits from the new russian infrastructure. I mean even look at the name of the thread. Englands bid is not going well so obviously its because everyone else is buying votes. In fact, that issue was pretty much stirred up by the media. Before their undercover stunt, there were no such issues. Lolwut Also, i always thought the usa, japan and korea werent going to get it, 94 and 02 were pretty recent. But i am a bit surprised about australia not getting it though. Russia was no surprise for me. Even though according to skysports england were apparently the favourites to get it, ive been checking about five different betting agencies online. Russia have been the favourites for a long time. On the final day, russia was 1.9 (thats 9/10) and england was 2.9 (19/10). Belgium/holland wasnt even availiable to bet on.
  3. Putin knows everything man.... Pretty sure were not getting it now :(
  4. Idk why you guys are stressing. Zilina is not even championship level, in fact, their budget is the same as Bournemouth afc. They also lost 7-0 to marseille. So im pretty sure that even the chelsea reserves coyld beat them comfortably.
  5. This should be the game to boost confidence and spark a recovery. Also, hoping spartak would have already become the fourth team to qualify by the time this starts :P
  6. You could get Zenit next season, and their fans were on the streets in St petersburg yesterday in their tens of thousands beating up riot (RIOT) police after winning the russian league....theres probably videos on youtube by now But yes, spartak fans are probably the worst in russia....we had more chair throwing yesterday during the Krylya draw.
  7. To be honest, i think chelseas midfield is nowhere near the level it should be on. For me, Chelseas good midfielders are lampard essien and mikel. With two of those abscent, the midfield fell apart. Zhirkov, Kalou, Malouda are not world-class level IMO. Neither are the youth players. Its all fine and good if Carlo wants to focus on youth, but he must also have experienced replacements availiable if someone is injured. Terry's abscence also showed. Btw why was he not playing last night, was it the whole father thing?
  8. You can bet on it being here....putin is flying to the draw on the 2nd.....and he doesnt usually go unless he knows russia will win
  9. Scored a brilliant goal in the most important match of the season yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6Sfb564iE8
  10. Lol yeah they pretty much get replaced a lot
  11. why do u think that.....just saying it could have been worse
  12. To be honest, that was some of our better behaviour.
  13. O wow i can hear spartak fans over the home crowd the whole time
  14. Cech Ivanovic Cole Ferreira Alex Ramires Mikel Zhirkov Anelka Kalou Drogba Dikan Suchy Sheshukov Ivanov Pareja McGeady Kombarov Alex Ibson Makeev Welliton
  15. Knowing ancelotti, i dont think he'll rest more than two players. One of them will be anelka/drogba, and the other from the midfield where chelsea has depth.
  16. Thats what liverpool, ajax, real, bayern and arsenal also thought;)
  17. Hi again :) Spartak team news: Captain and playmaker Alex will be fit; Striker Ari & vice-cap Parshivlyuk injured; Spartak results since first leg: Siberia 0-0 SM SM 1-0 Zenit SM 2-1 Rostov Probable lineup Dikan Shtranzl Suchy Pareja Sheshukov McGeady Alex Ibson D.Kombarov ??????(Ananidze/Kozlov) Welliton Prediction: Draw/chelsea win
  18. Chelsea played a very good first half. However in the second, spartak looked much more organised and threatening and perhaps were unlucky not to score. All in all a deserved result. Prediction : chelsea goes to at least the semis.
  19. Nice goal from zhirkov, 2nd goal was a slip up in defence....
  20. 1-0, 0-1, 0-0, 1-1 are all very likely IMO... 1-1 for me, and both teams almost through to the knockout round
  21. What im saying is that some of the away sector tickets were sold in moscow as well... Its just not an option for them to go to the home one - you dont do that in russia unless youre willing to spend some time in the hospital
  22. Well yeah first pick on both sectors went to the russian ticketing services.... And if u wanna go see chelsea and youre not spartak, then its the much safer option.... I didnt mean cska as in only cska but i suspect it will be full of other moscow teams' fans - cska, dynamo, lokomotiv
