Never posted before but wanted some feedback if possible.

bit of a long story so ill try keep it short

I was at the chelsea v spartak game on wednesday to see another great display from the boys. I was sat in the shed end lower tier row 6 right next to the spartak fans. There was a bit of banter between our fans and there lot in the first half but nothing out of the ordinary. But as soon as we got that first goal the first thing i saw were a number of coins being thrown our way. That was the start of what ended up being a second half of coins, bottles and other items being thrown toward the east stand and the shed. When a couple of lads in front of me pointed out one of the coin throwers and started giving him abuse THEY were the ones being warned by stewards! The worst thing was there were a few young children a couple of rows in front of me who were in the firing line from the coins.

What i wanted to know is it worth me putting in a complaint and if so anyone have a clue where?

I enjoy a bit of banter but throwin coins in the direction of kids is bloody wrong!!!

thanks Tez

Tell them how bad your viewing pleasure of the game was because of this, and their stewards doing nothing, and you demand either a refund or more tickets. Not sure how far you'll get but definitely worth reporting it.

Welcome to the forum also.

Also thought I heard they do monkey noices aimed at Drogba.

You should definitely report it as we don't want this kind of disgusting behaviour at the Bridge.

And welcome to our forum by the way.

I thought I heard that too, when Drogs went over to take a corner in front of them. At first I thought I must be mistaken, but sadly I don't think I was.

It appears the anti-racism programme just applies to Home fans then.

I wonder if any Spartak fans actually got ejected?

I remember reading an article about stadium racism in Europe a few years ago(and I think there was something on the television about the subject as well) and Russia was mentioned as one of the worst places when it comes to racism in football stadiums, so I'm not all that surprised to hear about this. The language barrier might make it hard/impossible for the stewards to get their message across as their English might not be that good. That's no excuse to punish the fans who complained about it, though.

Only the one who ran on the pitch.

I've heard a lot of compliants about the stewards in the Shed over the past few seasons. Quite the oppostie in the MHL as those guys seem a very decent bunch and everyone seems to know one another. Maybe this is something that should get picked up through the fans forum?

thanks a lot for the replys. Thanks to 'Mod' for the link to the email. I've just sent an email now. Ive never ever felt the need to complain but that really was bad on wednesday. I put in the email that if i were to throw a coin at the away support i would have been arrested or at the least thrown out, membership taken off me and a ban (all rightly so) but it seems ok for the away animals to do what they want!!!

and i agree its crazy they let away fans in 'the shed' anyway!!!

once again thanks

I`m sure what they did was knowhere near as bad as a few Chelsea fans throwing a couple of flags on the pitch. I mean, just how dangerous is that, so dangerous it warranted a fine and a warning for our club. UEFA are f**king idiots.

Did this happen at the Spartak game?

Not to go into this whole victim mentality thing, but it really is getting to be a joke. Russian fans can come to London, racially abuse one of our players on live television and you hear NOTHING about it, whereas if we have controversial game with a farcical official and the whole press is combing the internet, looking for death threats on facebook. This is really why I couldnt care less when they do give us plaudits, theyre a sad lot anyway.

Anyway, the racism of Russian fans is well documented. When Peter Odemwingie was leaving Spartak they put a massive banner to "thank" west brom with a peeled banana on it. Zenit's problems are also well documented. Its sad and sick what they get away with. Yet they will probably be given the 2018 world cup thanks to the English press daring to report FIFA's own corruption.

Its a sad world we live in when things like this are just excused away as the way things are.

No, happened after the Barcelona game a few years back when Drogba went a bit loopy. We were fined for throwing flags onto the pitch, yet clubs in places like Turkey, Italy etc get away with a hell of a lot worse.

Good to know it wasn't just me then! I thought I heard this at the exact time you mention. Drogs ran over to the corner flag and you heard a few noises being thrown at him. I thought "surely not?!" Although it was short lived, it certainly seemed to happen

I was up there on Wednesday night, heard the noises, didnt know they were throwing coins. Thats terrible, worth a complaint or two. They are a backward bunch of c***s. Some of the stewards at the bridge are rude and just dont seem to care about the home supporters.

It reminds me of West Ham Fans trying to fit a train seat out of the window, as if finding a seat on the train wasn't hard enough.

Same here, I was in the East Upper and it came over pretty clear, not only aimed at Drogba too. No doubt we will be fined for failing to control the fans when that drunken lump ran on the pitch. Mind you that steward with the dreadlocks can shift a bit, he was just as fast when someone ran on against Newcastle in the League Cup .
